If a YouTube stream keeps reconnecting on your JioFiber router after a firmware update, first find out whether the interruption affects YouTube on one device, Wi-Fi generally, or the JioFiber connection as a whole. The timing makes the update worth reporting, but it does not prove the update caused the problem: official YouTube and Jio support pages do not identify a Jio router model or firmware release responsible for this symptom.
Start by identifying what is disconnecting
Before changing router settings, note what happens and where. The YouTube error may say “Connection to server lost.” or “Playback error. Tap to retry.” Record the exact wording and whether the stream resumes by itself.

- Write down the playback device (TV, phone, computer, or set-top box) and whether it uses Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Check whether other apps or services disconnect at the same time.
- Check whether other devices on JioFiber have the same problem.
- If available in MyJio or the router interface, note the router model, firmware version, and approximate update date.
These observations are clues, not a diagnosis. Several affected devices or services point the investigation toward the connection or router; a problem limited to one YouTube app or device points toward that app or device. Compare results before concluding that the firmware is at fault.

Run JioFiber diagnostics in MyJio
- Link your JioFiber account in the MyJio app, if it is not already linked.
- Open Home, then JioCare, and choose Run Diagnostics.
- Review the results for connection health, router status, device configuration, and Wi-Fi strength. Jio says diagnostics can identify issues such as slow speed, weak signal, an offline router, a configuration error, or device overload.
- Follow the app’s suggested actions. Depending on the result, these may include restarting the router, checking cables, updating settings, or improving coverage.
- If the issue remains, use the app to raise a service request.
Jio recommends restarting the router once a month as general maintenance. A restart can refresh the network connection and may resolve a minor connectivity issue, but repeated restarts are not an established fix for a firmware fault.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Separate a YouTube or device issue from a Wi-Fi issue
Compare with another network
If practical, connect the affected device to a different internet connection and play the same YouTube stream. YouTube recommends testing another connection for playback problems. If it works there, that is useful evidence to share with Jio; it does not by itself identify the router firmware as the cause.
Try another device or playback method
On a TV or streaming device, quit and reopen YouTube, restart the device, check for app and device software updates, and try another supported device or playback method. On a phone or tablet, YouTube recommends clearing the app cache and testing again. If only one app or device is affected while other services work, prioritize its app and device troubleshooting.

Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet
If the playback device has an Ethernet port, temporarily connect it to the router and compare playback. A wired connection can help distinguish a Wi-Fi coverage or interference problem from an issue that also occurs over a direct connection. It is a diagnostic comparison, not a demonstrated repair for a firmware problem. A cable is relevant only if the device supports Ethernet.
Check signal, network load, and playback quality
YouTube publishes approximate recommended sustained connection speeds for video playback. They are guidance, not guarantees that a stream will never reconnect.

For YouTube TV, a separate troubleshooting page recommends at least 7 Mbps for HD streaming. That is distinct from the resolution guidance above and is not a guarantee of uninterrupted playback. YouTube also recommends testing near the TV, checking whether it is within router range with minimal interference, and considering other devices using the network.
- Try a lower YouTube playback quality and see whether the interruption pattern changes.
- Compare playback near the router with playback in the usual location.
- Consider distance, walls or metal obstructions, and competing network use.
A weak signal or busy network can contribute to playback trouble, but these checks cannot establish that the post-update timing is causal.

- Dual-band Wi-Fi with 5 GHz speeds up to 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz speeds up to 300 Mbps, delivering 1200 Mbps of total bandwidth¹. Dual-band routers do not support 6 GHz. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.

When to contact Jio
Raise a Jio service request if MyJio reports a router, configuration, signal, or service issue, or if multiple devices and services disconnect. Give support the router model and firmware version, approximate update date, exact YouTube error, affected devices, and whether the problem also occurs on Ethernet or another internet connection. Jio’s app can offer support options when diagnostics do not resolve the issue.
The official Jio and YouTube support material reviewed does not document a model-specific firmware remedy or a supported Jio firmware rollback procedure. Do not install unofficial router firmware or treat a factory reset as a routine response; ask Jio support for guidance specific to your router and account.
Use an extender only if coverage is the issue
Jio describes its Jio Extender as a way to widen coverage in larger homes. Consider coverage equipment only if diagnostics or a Wi-Fi comparison indicate weak coverage where you watch. An extender is not an established fix for a post-update reconnection problem when the cause has not been identified.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your concern is keeping a prerecorded YouTube live stream running continuously, rather than fixing ordinary YouTube playback on a JioFiber-connected device, StreamNeo is a separate option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so a home computer and connection do not have to stay on. It supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube streams from uploaded videos, not camera broadcasts, and it does not diagnose JioFiber or YouTube app playback issues.
