What changes in the YouTube Music redesign?
Android Authority reported on October 8, 2026, that a limited group of users was seeing a new layout for album and playlist detail pages. These are observations of a reported experiment, not a confirmed final design. Android Authority’s report attributes the observations to users on Reddit; YouTube has not publicly confirmed the test.

Album pages: larger artwork and prominent playback
On album pages, the enlarged artwork is paired with a split action row. Quick actions for downloading for offline listening and saving the album to the library sit alongside a prominent Play button. Playlist pages reportedly use the same enlarged-art approach, with a different set of controls. Download, library, and comment actions appear in the action row. A dedicated Shuffle button takes the place of the former menu position, while the menu moves to the top of the header.

Who can see the test, and when might it roll out?
The October 8 report characterizes availability as limited and the experiment as apparently controlled by a server-side A/B test. That does not establish an eligibility rule, a setting users can enable, or a guaranteed way to opt in. There is no verified wider-release date in the available reporting.
