To find out who claimed music in an archived YouTube livestream, open YouTube Studio, go to Content, filter by Claims, and open See details for the stream archive. Check Content used and Claimant to see the matched material and who asserted the claim. First determine whether the broadcast was interrupted while live or whether a claim appeared on the archive afterward: those are different events.
First: was the stream interrupted, or did the archive get a claim?
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches while they are running. A live broadcast may show a warning or placeholder and be interrupted or terminated if identified content remains. A Content ID claim on a livestream archive is made after the stream ends if you choose to archive it. These events can be related, but checking one does not establish the status or validity of the other. YouTube Help: live stream restrictions

- Interrupted while live: check YouTube Studio for the displayed live issue and any channel strike or restriction. If you licensed the music, see the allowlisting section below.
- Claim on the saved video: open the archive’s claim details in Studio and record the matched segment, claimant, policy, and any territory information.
How to identify the claimant and matched meditation loop
- In YouTube Studio, select Content.
- Filter the content list by Claims.
- Find the livestream archive and inspect the Claims entry in the Restrictions column.
- Select See details. In Content used, open the relevant claim details and note the claimant and the content or segment identified.
- Record any timestamps, policy, and territory-specific details shown. More than one claimant may appear for different segments or territories.
YouTube cautions that an unfamiliar claimant name does not, by itself, mean the claim is invalid. The Studio details show what YouTube matched and who asserted the claim; they do not independently establish that the claimant owns the recording or that your use is unauthorized. Identify the exact recording in the loop, not just the playlist or meditation video in which it appeared. Compare the matched segment with the original file and any license, receipt, written permission, or library terms you have. Check whether permission covers this recording, livestreaming, the archived video, monetization, and the territories where the claim applies. A license for one use or territory may not establish permission for all of these.

YouTube lists having the necessary rights, a copyright exception, or a mistaken match as possible grounds for disputing a claim. Giving credit, owning a copy of the track, or choosing not to monetize does not by itself establish a valid basis. Do not conclude that a loop is royalty-free, public domain, or misidentified without evidence about that particular recording and its rights. YouTube Help: dispute a Content ID claim
What a claim does—and does not—mean
| Studio outcome | What it means |
|---|---|
| Content ID claim | The rights-management system has matched material and a claimant has asserted rights. Depending on the owner’s policy, the video may be monetized, tracked, or blocked, with outcomes that can vary by territory. A claim alone usually does not affect the channel or account. |
| Copyright removal request (takedown) | A separate request to remove the video on copyright grounds. If YouTube finds a removal request valid, the video can be removed and the channel can receive a copyright strike. |
| Copyright strike | A channel consequence associated with a valid copyright removal request; it is not synonymous with a Content ID claim. |
Check the channel’s Studio status rather than treating every claim as a strike. YouTube explains the distinction between Content ID claims and copyright strikes in its copyright strike guidance.

Choose between fixing the audio and disputing
Remove or replace nonessential music
If the meditation loop is not essential to the archive, YouTube points to removing or replacing the claimed material; its Audio Library is one possible source of replacement tracks. A content edit can address the matched audio without asserting that the claim is wrong. Check the edited result in Studio afterward. YouTube Help: remove claimed content
Dispute only when you have a valid basis
Use the dispute option if you have the rights required for the use, believe a copyright exception applies, or have a reasoned basis to believe the match is mistaken. YouTube does not decide whether you should dispute; if you are unsure about your rights or an exception, consider getting legal advice before escalating. Automated Content ID cannot determine fair use, which is a subjective, case-by-case question that courts decide. YouTube Help: fair use

Understand the response windows and escalation risk
For an initial dispute, the claimant normally has 30 days to respond. After an appeal, the claimant has 7 days to respond. If an appeal is rejected, the claimant may submit a copyright removal request; if valid, it can remove the video and result in a strike. These are YouTube Help response windows, checked in 2026, not a guarantee about the merits or outcome of an individual case. Initial dispute process · Appeal a Content ID claim
If the loop came from a licensed music library
YouTube advises creators who licensed third-party content for a live stream to ask the rights owner to add their channel to its Content ID allowlist. A licensed stream can still be interrupted if the channel is not allowlisted. Contact the owner or library with your channel details and license information. Allowlisting guidance concerns live-stream interruptions; it does not by itself prove that a later archive claim is invalid. Check the archive’s claim details and the license scope separately. Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only service for keeping uploaded videos live around the clock; it does not stream from a camera. The claim-source check still happens in YouTube Studio, and using a cloud service does not grant music rights or prevent a copyright claim. To use StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud loops the uploaded material, so nothing has to stay running at home. It streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; automatic recovery is available if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
