If your YouTube live stream keeps reconnecting on Excitel broadband, first find out whether the break is coming from the encoder, your home network, or the connection to Excitel. Connect the encoder to the router by Ethernet, record exact interruption times, and compare encoder logs with YouTube Live Control Room’s stream-health messages. Then verify sustained upload capacity and encoder settings. The information available here cannot identify a fault on a particular Excitel line; location, plan, measurements, and logs matter.
1. Record what happens when the stream reconnects
Start an incident log before changing settings. Record local time and time zone (or UTC), whether the encoder says it disconnected or restarted, the YouTube Live Control Room health message, router and ONT status lights, and whether other devices lose internet at the same time. Save encoder logs and any local recording if available.

Matching timestamps can help separate an encoder restart from a loss of the home internet connection. They do not, by themselves, prove that Excitel caused the interruption.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2. Remove Wi-Fi and competing traffic as variables
- Connect the streaming computer or encoder directly to the router with Ethernet, if possible. This tests a wired path instead of relying on Wi-Fi. A Cat6 cable is one reasonable option for that local connection.
- During a controlled test, pause large uploads, cloud backups, and other high-bandwidth activity in the household.
- Note whether reconnects continue and whether other devices are affected.
YouTube warns that shared network use can reduce the bandwidth available to a stream and that connectivity interruptions can break a live broadcast: YouTube Help: Streaming tips. Ethernet can rule out some Wi-Fi problems; it cannot fix provider-side congestion, a damaged fiber line, or an upstream outage.

3. Check sustained upload capacity and leave headroom
Measure upload over the wired connection at several times, including during a controlled stream if possible. Compare the available sustained upload with the encoder’s total bitrate, not just the video bitrate. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload headroom and accounting for shared use and, where applicable, both primary and backup streams. Its guidance states: “The total bitrate that you’re streaming cannot exceed the amount of upload bandwidth available.” See YouTube’s streaming tips.
A download result, advertised plan speed, or one brief speed test does not establish stable outbound capacity for a 24/7 encoder. No Excitel plan, location, or test result is specified here, so a minimum plan speed or fault on your line cannot be diagnosed from the stream symptoms alone.

4. Verify encoder settings against YouTube’s guidance
Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the codec, resolution, and frame rate you actually selected. For H.264 over RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube lists 5 Mbps for 1080p30 and 6 Mbps for 720p60 as recommended bitrates; they are examples for those configurations, not universal settings. Other resolutions, frame rates, and codecs have different recommendations. The bitrate must also fit your measured, sustained upload with headroom. YouTube encoder settings.

- Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
- A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
- Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
- Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
- Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.
5. Distinguish an encoder fault from an internet fault
Check whether the local encoder preview or a local recording also stutters. If it does, inspect the source capture, encoder software version, CPU load, and logs. YouTube recommends checking encoder health and CPU load; if the encoder output looks healthy, test the outbound connection. YouTube advises contacting the internet service provider if that test finds a connectivity problem. YouTube streaming troubleshooting.
If Live Control Room reports a format, bitrate, or keyframe error, correct that setting first rather than assuming the ISP is responsible. The YouTube error guide describes these ingestion issues and primary/backup mismatches.

6. Report a suspected line problem to Excitel with evidence
If the encoder remains healthy but the wired connection drops or upload becomes unstable, contact Excitel with your registered account, service location, incident times, wired test results, and whether the ONT/router indicates loss of optical or WAN service. Ask support to check ONT and line status, area outages, and packet loss or repeated session drops during the logged windows. Keep the complaint reference and use the provider’s published escalation route if needed.
Excitel’s customer-care page lists app, phone, and email routes and a 24-working-business-hour target for network or technical complaints. That is a published support target, not a guarantee of resolution or evidence that a particular line is at fault. Excitel Customer Care & Grievance Redressal. Excitel’s published terms describe plan speeds as best effort and subject to variation from network conditions, customer equipment, Wi-Fi coverage, and other technical factors; those terms do not establish the cause of an individual interruption. 7. Plan continuity for a 24/7 stream
YouTube recommends preparing encoder events in advance, monitoring audio and video, and testing backup-encoder failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable. Confirm primary and backup settings meet YouTube’s compatibility requirements. YouTube streaming tips and Live Control Room error messages.
A backup encoder can cover some encoder failures, but it does not replace a failed Excitel internet connection. An independent backup internet path would need to be available at the specific address, provide enough stable upload, and have tested failover and stream recovery behavior. A UPS may help if local mains power is the diagnosed cause and it keeps the encoder, router, and ONT powered; it cannot keep Excitel’s access network online during an upstream line or power fault. Excitel’s terms include conditions on supplied equipment, so check compatibility and support before replacing its ONT.
