A YouTube Live Control Room stream health warning does not, by itself, prove that BSNL broadband is the cause. Start with the warning’s exact text and timestamp, check whether the encoder’s own picture and sound are healthy, then compare sustained upload capacity with the total bitrate you are sending. If the encoder output is healthy but the connection test points to an upload problem, YouTube’s guidance is to contact your internet service provider.
Start with the exact warning and time
Open YouTube Live Control Room or the Live Dashboard and note the health message and when it appeared. YouTube checks the submitted stream and displays messages alongside the Health Indicator. The message is more useful than the fact that a warning appeared: different errors can point to different issues.

- Critical red errors may stop an event from starting or cause problems for viewers.
- Moderate yellow errors may reduce stream quality without necessarily stopping the event.
Keep the message and timestamp for comparison with encoder logs and any upload-speed tests. A warning alone does not identify BSNL, a particular broadband plan, or any other part of the connection as the cause. YouTube Help: troubleshoot your YouTube live stream.

Check whether the encoder output is already faulty
Before changing broadband settings, inspect the stream at its source. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance distinguishes a poor encoder output from a healthy output that may be affected during transmission.

- Check the encoder preview for picture and sound problems.
- Review encoder error messages and CPU load while streaming.
- If you record a local archive, play it back and check whether the same glitches appear there.
- Confirm the encoder software is current and that the intended audio and video sources are selected.
If the preview or local recording is already bad, investigate the source, routing, encoder settings, or computer first. If those look and sound healthy, move on to the outbound connection. YouTube Help: troubleshoot your YouTube live stream.
Compare upload capacity with the total outgoing bitrate
Test upload speed, not just download speed. YouTube notes that download speed is often higher than upload speed and recommends running a speed test to check upload bitrate. The available upload bandwidth must support the total bitrate being sent, with YouTube recommending 20% headroom. If you send primary and backup streams, count both in the total. Other people or devices using the same network can also reduce the bandwidth available to your stream.

Match encoder settings to YouTube’s guidance
Check the codec, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe interval against YouTube’s encoder settings. Use the bitrate entry for your actual codec, resolution, and frame rate; a single bitrate target does not fit every stream. YouTube’s current encoder guide includes H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1.

These are YouTube Help setting references, not guarantees that a broadband connection can sustain the bitrate. Match the encoder’s keyframe frequency to YouTube’s recommendation of 2 seconds and do not exceed 4 seconds. YouTube notes that keyframes sent too infrequently can cause buffering. If you use primary and backup streams, check that their settings meet YouTube’s parity requirements. Test before the next event and decide when to contact BSNL
- Run a test stream using representative movement and audio, rather than a static screen alone.
- Check the Live Control Room preview and note any health messages and their timestamps.
- Compare those times with encoder errors, CPU load, and upload-test results.
- If practical, test on another connection as a comparison. If the issue occurs only on the BSNL line, that is useful diagnostic evidence, but it does not by itself prove a specific BSNL fault.
- If the encoder output is healthy and connection testing indicates an upload problem, contact BSNL with the test times, your location and service details, and the results. YouTube’s stated advice for internet-connection issues is to contact the ISP.
