To show Hindi subtitles on a YouTube gaming replay, open the player’s captions menu and select Hindi if it is available. If not, try Auto-translate → Hindi. If the replay has no captions control or the option is disabled, you cannot create a caption track from the viewer’s player; the channel owner must add subtitles in YouTube Studio.
Turn on Hindi subtitles on a computer
- Open the gaming replay on YouTube.
- Select CC if it appears. If needed, open the player’s Settings or Subtitles/CC menu.
- Select Hindi if it is listed. Otherwise, choose Auto-translate, then select Hindi if offered.
YouTube’s computer caption instructions are at Manage caption settings – Computer. If the captions control is missing or disabled, captions are not currently available for that video in the player.

Use captions on a phone, TV, or game console
Phone or tablet
Tap the replay to reveal the controls, turn on captions, then open the caption or language menu. Choose Hindi or, if shown, Auto-translate → Hindi. YouTube also lets mobile and tablet users adjust caption settings, including Show when muted. See Manage caption settings – Android.

TV or game console
Pause the replay, open Captions, and choose an available language. You can adjust caption style if the player provides that option. The controls vary by device; YouTube’s steps are in Manage captions on TV & game consoles.

Why Hindi subtitles may not appear
- The replay has no captions. If there is no captions control or it cannot be selected, the player has no caption track to show. Auto-translate is available only when YouTube offers it for that video.
- Automatic captions have not been generated or are unavailable. YouTube lists Hindi among languages supported for automatic captions on long-form videos and Shorts, but that does not guarantee captions on a particular replay. Processing delays, unsupported speech, long videos, poor audio, silence at the start, overlapping speakers, and simultaneous languages can affect availability.
- Recognition may be inaccurate. YouTube warns that accents, dialects, mispronunciations, and background noise can lead to errors in automatically generated captions.
- The live captions did not carry over. YouTube says, “Automatic captions for live streams are available in English only.” Live automatic captions do not remain on the video after the stream ends. YouTube may generate new captions for the replay through its VOD process, and those can differ from the live captions. Check the replay itself for Hindi or Auto-translate.

If you own the channel, add a Hindi subtitle track
When viewer-side captions and Auto-translate are unavailable, the channel owner can add subtitles in YouTube Studio:

- Sign in to YouTube Studio and select Subtitles.
- Choose the gaming replay.
- Add a language and select Hindi.
- Add the subtitles by uploading a timed subtitle file, auto-syncing a transcript, or typing captions manually.
Follow YouTube’s instructions at Add subtitles & captions. Review automatically generated captions before relying on them, especially when game audio, voice chat, or background sound makes speech difficult to distinguish.
