YouTube fixed a bug that showed doubled creator earnings in Studio

The apparent doubling was not confirmed as a real payout increase. In November 2025, some creators saw unusually high or nearly doubled earnings and payment-activity totals in YouTube Studio while October earnings were being finalized. YouTube acknowledged the display issue and marked it fixed on November 11, 2025. Creators should use AdSense for YouTube to verify finalized payment amounts.

What creators saw

Reports surfaced around November 10, 2025, with some creators saying YouTube Studio displayed earnings or payment totals far above expectations. Reported examples included $1,300 appearing as $2,600, £5,000 appearing as £10,000, and €7,800 appearing as €15,744.

Those were creator-reported examples, not evidence that every affected account was doubled by exactly 100%. The available evidence indicates that the figures shown in Studio were inflated display values, rather than an additional bonus or confirmed duplicate payout.

What YouTube said—and when it was fixed

Google acknowledged that some creators were seeing “unusually high or doubled earnings” in YouTube Studio or AdSense and said teams were investigating. The official YouTube Help Community thread was later titled “[FIXED] Earnings in Studio Payment Activity Showing Higher Than Expected”.

The issue was marked fixed on November 11, 2025. The available material does not establish the exact start time, duration, number of affected accounts, geographic scope, or technical cause. It also does not confirm that any creator was actually paid an inflated amount.

Why the timing caused confusion

The reports coincided with YouTube’s normal monthly earnings cycle. Previous-month earnings are generally finalized and transferred to AdSense for YouTube between the 7th and 12th of the following month. Eligible payments are generally issued between the 21st and 26th, provided the account reaches its payment threshold and has no holds.

That schedule meant creators were actively checking October earnings when the unusual Studio totals appeared. The timing does not prove that earnings finalization caused the display problem.

How to verify the actual amount

  1. Sign in to AdSense for YouTube.
  2. Open Payments or Payment info.
  3. Review the finalized earnings balance and transaction details.
  4. Check for tax deductions, adjustments, payment holds, or other payment-status entries.

On eligible accounts, payment activity may also be visible in the YouTube Studio mobile app under Earn → Your payment activity. This depends on account and channel-permission conditions, including whether the relevant channels are associated with the same AdSense for YouTube account.

Why Studio and AdSense can legitimately differ

A mismatch does not automatically mean the November 2025 bug is happening again. Check these possibilities:

  • Estimated versus finalized earnings: estimated figures can change before finalization.
  • Adjustments: invalid traffic, Content ID claims or disputes, and other corrections can affect the final amount.
  • Taxes: withholding may reduce the payable balance.
  • Currency conversion: creators paid in another currency may see differences caused by conversion rates or timing.
  • Multiple channels or payments accounts: separate accounts can have different balances, thresholds, and payment histories.
  • Holds and thresholds: verification, tax, payment, or other holds can delay payment even when earnings are recorded.

YouTube’s payment-activity guidance explains that estimated and finalized amounts can differ. Its payment schedule also notes that the standard payment window depends on account eligibility and the absence of payment holds.

If the amount still looks wrong

  1. Compare the Studio figure with the correct AdSense for YouTube payments account.
  2. Confirm whether you are viewing an estimate, payment activity, or a finalized transaction.
  3. Review taxes, invalid-traffic adjustments, Content ID adjustments, currency, and payment holds.
  4. If the previous month has not yet been finalized, allow for the normal 7th–12th posting window.
  5. If AdSense still shows an incorrect finalized amount, contact YouTube Creator Support from inside YouTube Studio and provide screenshots, dates, currencies, and transaction details.

What remains unknown

YouTube’s public acknowledgment and fix status establish that a Studio payment-activity display issue occurred, but they do not explain its root cause. The reviewed sources do not establish how many creators were affected, whether all accounts saw the same behavior, or whether any actual payments were issued at the inflated amounts.

This is therefore a resolved historical incident, not evidence of a broad revenue-share change or a general YouTube bonus. Creators who saw the issue should treat the Studio total as unreliable for that period and use finalized AdSense records when determining what was actually payable.
