If a YouTube 24/7 stream keeps stopping on Tata Play Fiber, first connect the streaming computer to the router by Ethernet and test upload stability at the times the problem usually occurs. Then compare the encoder’s total bitrate with the stable upload available, and check timestamped errors in YouTube Live Control Room. This sequence helps distinguish Wi-Fi trouble from an uplink, encoder, or YouTube ingestion problem; it cannot identify the cause of an individual outage without those checks.
First identify what “stops” means
Before changing settings, note what happens at the failure time. A disconnect at the encoder, an ended YouTube event, a live event that freezes for viewers, and playback trouble affecting only one viewer point to different parts of the chain. None alone proves the Tata Play Fiber connection is at fault.

- Record the time and what viewers saw.
- Check the encoder’s status and logs at that time.
- Open the event in YouTube Live Control Room and review stream-health messages. YouTube reports these with timestamps, which you can compare with the encoder log and viewer reports.
YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance also recommends checking encoder output and outbound connectivity. A stream-health warning or encoder error may indicate a configuration or ingestion issue rather than a provider outage.
Test Tata Play Fiber on Ethernet before changing the router
A wired test is the clearest first way to separate Wi-Fi conditions from the connection reaching the router. Tata Play Fiber recommends direct LAN/Ethernet for accurate speed tests, comparing wired and Wi-Fi results, and testing at different times. Its FAQ notes that Wi-Fi can be affected by distance, walls, interference, and congestion, while LAN is more stable.
#1 Best Overall
- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
- Connect directly: Use an Ethernet cable from the streaming computer to the Tata Play Fiber router. Avoid testing over Wi-Fi for this comparison.
- Reduce competing traffic: Pause cloud backups, large downloads, other live streams, and unnecessary household network use. Disconnect unused devices if practical.
- Measure upload repeatedly: Run upload tests more than once, including at the time of day when the stream normally fails. Save the results with timestamps. A single speed result does not establish that the line can sustain a 24/7 stream.
- Compare with Wi-Fi: Repeat the checks over Wi-Fi under similar conditions. If wired upload stays consistent but Wi-Fi dips, investigate Wi-Fi placement and interference first.
If Ethernet is stable but Wi-Fi is not
Try placing the router centrally and elevated, with fewer walls or obstructions between it and the streaming computer. Tata Play Fiber describes its Smart Router as dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, and recommends central placement. Selecting a band by itself is not a guaranteed fix; compare results in the actual streaming location.
If Ethernet also drops or upload varies sharply
Keep the time-stamped test results and note whether the connection disconnected entirely. Restart the router and check that cable connections are secure, as Tata Play Fiber advises. If the problem persists on a direct wired connection, contact Tata Play Fiber support rather than starting with a factory reset or undocumented advanced settings.

Check whether available upload can support the encoder bitrate
The relevant capacity is stable outbound upload, not the download figure highlighted in a broadband plan. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom and warns, “A disruption on your connectivity could mean a broken stream.” Apply that margin to the upload that is actually available during the stream, allowing for household traffic and any second outbound stream.

| Video setting | Recommended video bitrate | Minimum video bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p30, H.264 | 14 Mbps | 5 Mbps |
| 1080p60, H.264 | 17 Mbps | 6 Mbps |
| 720p30, H.264 | 8 Mbps | 3 Mbps |
| 720p60, H.264 | 8 Mbps | 3 Mbps |
YouTube lists different recommendations for AV1 and H.265; for example, its listed values for 1080p30 are 10 Mbps, and for 1080p60 are 12 Mbps. Audio and any additional stream also use upload capacity, so do not compare the video bitrate alone with the line’s full measured upload. If there is not enough stable headroom, reduce competing network use or lower the encoder’s resolution or bitrate.
Verify encoder and YouTube settings
For RTMP/RTMPS streaming, YouTube’s guidance recommends H.264 CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval (not over 4 seconds), and testing before an event. Match resolution, frame rate, and codec to the corresponding YouTube bitrate guidance. An incorrect bitrate, format, codec, or audio configuration can cause ingestion errors, so do not assume every interruption is an ISP fault.

- Confirm the encoder is current and is sending the intended output.
- Check encoder logs and, where relevant, CPU load or recording status at the failure time.
- Compare encoder errors with YouTube Live Control Room’s timestamped stream-health messages.
- If the encoder appears healthy, test the outbound connection and use the result to decide whether to contact the ISP.
If you are enabling YouTube Live for the first time, YouTube says initial enablement can take up to 24 hours. That is relevant to a new setup, not a likely explanation for an established stream that intermittently stops.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsShould you change a Tata Play Fiber router setting?
Start with Ethernet, repeatable upload tests, router restart, and secure cable connections. Tata Play Fiber’s published guidance supports those checks, but does not establish that a special streaming setting is required. Do not change port forwarding, DNS, MTU, bridge mode, or firewall settings as a first response; the available provider guidance does not identify these as fixes for this problem.
Best Value
- Dual band router upgrades to 1200 Mbps high speed internet (300mbps for 2.4GHz plus 900Mbps for 5GHz), reducing buffering and ideal for 4K stream
- Full Gigabit Ports - Gigabit Router with 4 Gigabit LAN ports, ideal for any internet plan and allow you to directly connect your wired devices
