If your YouTube 24/7 stream stops while you are using BSNL broadband, the ISP may be involved—but the timing alone does not prove it. First note YouTube Live Control Room’s error or health message, then check the encoder and source, measure sustained upload against the stream’s total bitrate, and contact BSNL if connection tests point to a fault. The exact cause depends on your plan, access type, local service conditions, and what the diagnostics show.
What to check first when a YouTube stream stops on BSNL
Work through the evidence in order rather than changing several settings at once. Record the failure before resetting anything; the error text, encoder state, and upload measurements help distinguish an ingestion or encoder problem from a network-path problem.

- Capture what happened. Write down the time, whether your encoder disconnected or YouTube ended the event, and the message beside the Live Control Room health indicator.
- Inspect the encoder and source. Check the encoder preview, logs, CPU load, audio, and video. If you record locally, note whether the archive file is still growing normally.
- Measure sustained upload. Run an upload-oriented speed test under conditions similar to the stream; repeat it at another time if results vary. Compare available upload with the total streaming bitrate, not just the video bitrate.
- Isolate the network path. If the encoder output looks healthy but upload or connectivity tests fail, repeat a controlled test and contact BSNL with timestamps, measurements, and the YouTube error. If practical, a short test over an independent connection can help compare paths.

Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room for the affected event and inspect the stream status and health indicator. The status area provides specific errors and instructions; the metrics view also includes stream status. Preserve the message before restarting or rebuilding the stream, because it may identify an ingestion format, bitrate, or audio-configuration issue.

Use YouTube’s current guidance for the exact error rather than assuming every interruption is an ISP outage: Live Control Room stream status and live-stream troubleshooting.
Check the encoder, source, and YouTube settings
Confirm the encoder is still producing a healthy signal
- Check the encoder’s preview and logs for a stopped source, failed output, dropped frames, or an encoder error.
- Watch CPU load and verify that the audio and video continue in the local preview. A source file ending, playlist transition, or local system problem can stop output independently of BSNL.
- If you record locally, check whether the recording file continues to grow. A halted archive alongside a frozen preview suggests investigating the encoder or media source before the broadband connection.
- Check that the encoder software is current and that the configured stream key and output destination are the intended ones.

Test using realistic content and check failover
Before relying on a continuous stream, run a test with representative audio and video movement; a static screen can conceal an unstable source or encoder load that appears during real content. Monitor Live Control Room health during the test. If you configured a backup encoder, confirm that its failover setup is correct and that it can take over as expected. Measure upload capacity rather than relying on a download-speed result. YouTube notes that inbound bandwidth is often higher than outbound and that total streaming bitrate cannot exceed upload bandwidth. For example, if your video bitrate is configured at 5 Mbps, YouTube’s 20% headroom guidance gives a simple planning figure of at least 6 Mbps of available upload for that video payload. Audio and other household or office traffic add to the total. This arithmetic is not a promise about any BSNL plan or a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming.
Test more than once, preferably at different times and with other network use kept similar to the actual stream. If results are marginal or fluctuate, reduce resolution or bitrate to a setting the sustained connection can support, then watch whether Live Control Room health improves. Do not infer your subscribed upload speed from a plan example found online. BharatNet tariff pages have listed examples such as Rural Entry at 25 Mbps up to 700 GB then up to 2 Mbps, Fibre Home WiFi at 40 Mbps up to 1,400 GB then up to 4 Mbps, and Fibre Value Plus OTT at 150 Mbps up to 5,000 GB then up to 10 Mbps. These are examples on tariff pages, subject to eligibility and terms—not universal BSNL plans or evidence of your actual service. When to contact BSNL
Escalate to BSNL when repeated upload or connectivity tests show a fault while the encoder and source appear healthy. YouTube’s instruction is direct: “If you find issues with your internet connection: Contact your internet service provider to troubleshoot.” See YouTube’s troubleshooting page.
BSNL lists 1800-4444 for Bharat Fiber, broadband, and landline customer care. You can also book a complaint and check its status through the BSNL self-care portal. When reporting the issue, provide the stream-stop times, upload-test results, your plan and access type, and the exact Live Control Room message.
