If your YouTube 24/7 stream buffers on Airtel Xstream Fiber, first find out whether the problem affects one viewer or viewers on different networks. Then check YouTube Live Control Room’s stream health, your encoder output, and your actual upload capacity against the stream’s total bitrate. These checks can help locate the problem; they do not establish that Airtel is at fault or guarantee a provider-specific fix.
Why does my YouTube live stream keep buffering on Airtel Xstream Fiber?
Buffering can arise on the viewer’s connection, a shared network, the stream or encoder, or from a mismatch between the stream’s bitrate and available upload capacity. Start with the pattern of reports rather than assuming the ISP is responsible.

- One viewer: YouTube says the viewer’s device or internet connection may be responsible.
- Several viewers on the same network: investigate that shared network.
- Viewers on different networks: an encoder or stream-side issue becomes more plausible, so inspect the stream health and encoder.
The available YouTube guidance does not identify an Airtel Xstream Fiber-specific cause, prevalence rate, guaranteed remedy, or service-level commitment for this symptom.

- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room while the stream is running. Read the stream-health messages; YouTube says they provide specific errors and instructions.
- Compare the Live Control Room preview with the encoder’s output. If the encoder preview itself is unstable, investigate the encoder and the connection between it and the router. If encoder output appears normal but viewers report trouble, use the scope of their reports to narrow the next check.
- Record the time and exact error message. This lets you compare viewer reports and connection tests against the same period instead of relying on memory.
YouTube’s live streaming troubleshooting guidance and stream metrics guidance explain the platform-side checks.

Is my upload speed enough for a 24/7 stream?
Test upload, not just download. A fast download result does not show that the connection can reliably send your live video to YouTube. YouTube recommends leaving 20% of upload bandwidth free above the total streaming bitrate. Include both the primary and backup bitrate if your setup sends a backup stream.
For example, YouTube’s encoder settings page lists 12 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps using AV1 or H.265, and 17 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps using H.264. These are YouTube encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that an internet plan advertised at that speed will sustain a stream. Check the current YouTube encoder settings for your resolution and codec; recommendations can change.

- Run an upload-speed test while the streaming computer is connected the way it normally streams, and repeat it at relevant times. A single result is only a snapshot.
- Compare the measured upload with the encoder’s actual total bitrate, not only its target setting.
- If you can, test the streaming computer over Wi-Fi and then by Ethernet to the router. This is a way to compare connection paths, not proof of an Airtel fault or a guaranteed fix.
YouTube’s streaming tips say the total bitrate cannot exceed available upload bandwidth and recommend leaving 20% room.
Is buffering caused by Airtel, Wi-Fi, or OBS/encoder settings?
Compare evidence from each layer before changing settings at random. A Wi-Fi-versus-Ethernet comparison can help isolate the local connection path; Live Control Room errors and encoder output can point toward stream configuration. Neither comparison alone proves the ISP is responsible.

Check keyframes and resolution
If YouTube reports that keyframes are not being sent often enough, check the encoder’s keyframe interval. YouTube recommends an interval of four seconds or less and a closed GOP for optimal transcoding. Also confirm that the video’s actual resolution matches the resolution selected in the encoder. See YouTube’s live streaming error messages and encoder settings.
Choose latency for the stream’s purpose
For a prerecorded 24/7 stream without real-time audience interaction, normal latency is the quality-first choice. Lower latency reduces read-ahead buffering and can increase playback interruptions. Choose lower latency when the benefit of more immediate interaction is worth that trade-off. YouTube notes that “Lower latency may mean more playback buffering” in its live stream latency guidance.
