In an exchange reported on October 3, 2026, the Governor Newsom Press Office account contrasted Laura Loomer’s presence on a plane she captioned as Air Force One with media questions about Hasan Piker. The comparison drew competing responses: some readers saw a double standard, while others said it deflected from scrutiny of Piker. The report describes selected replies, not a measure of public opinion, and the exchange alone does not establish that a double standard existed.
What did Newsom’s press office say about Laura Loomer?
The Nerd Stash reported that the California governor’s press-office account quote-posted a photo Loomer had shared from a plane. The account referred to a person who calls Black women “dogs” and “animals” being on the plane, then contrasted that with national media asking Democrats about Hasan Piker on Sunday shows. The report says the account did not name Loomer directly in its text.

The account’s framing connected Loomer’s presence on the plane to remarks the report says she had made in late August about Florida Senate nominee Angie Nixon and other Black women in politics. The report describes language about barking and a leash; the underlying posts and their full context were not independently checked for this account.
What did Loomer’s photo establish?
According to The Nerd Stash, Loomer’s caption identified the setting as Air Force One and referred to Trump as “45-47” and “My favorite President.” The photo, as described in the report, did not make the plane’s destination clear. It therefore should not be treated on its own as proof of a particular route, trip, or destination.

Why did people compare Loomer with Hasan Piker?
The comparison joined two different kinds of scrutiny: Loomer’s reported presence on a plane associated with Trump, and media questions to Democrats about Piker. Some replies, as selected by The Nerd Stash, argued that the juxtaposition exposed a double standard—scrutiny of Democrats over Piker while Loomer had access to Trump. Others argued Piker should be criticized as well, or that invoking Loomer diverted attention from him. Some characterized the comparison as linguistic gymnastics or election-cycle politics.
Those are competing interpretations, not a settled finding. Association or access to a political figure is not the same thing as a politician being asked about another person on a Sunday show. The first can raise questions about proximity and judgment; the second concerns media scrutiny and how a public figure responds. The report establishes that people debated the comparison, but does not provide enough context to determine whether the two cases were comparable or whether media scrutiny was uneven.

What is known—and what remains uncertain?
- Reported date and account: The Nerd Stash places the exchange on October 3, 2026, and attributes it to the Governor Newsom Press Office account.
- The subjects of the comparison: Loomer’s reported presence on a plane she captioned as Air Force One, and Sunday-show questions about Piker.
- Reaction: The article gives examples of replies on both sides. They are selected responses, not polling or a representative sample, so they do not show which view was more widely held.
- Post context: The original social-media posts and replies were not independently verified for this account. The report’s descriptions should not be expanded into claims about full context or account ownership.
- Later developments: The report does not establish whether there were further statements after October 3.
The Nerd Stash also reproduces the phrase “you don’t need to make excuses.” Since the original posts were not directly checked here, treat that wording as reported by the article rather than independently authenticated text.
