Most TCL TVs have a sleep timer: TCL publishes instructions for Roku, Google TV, Fire TV, and Android TV models. But that does not prove every TCL TV ever sold has the feature, and the menu path varies by operating system, model, and software version. Find the instructions for the platform your TV uses, then check its manual if the labels do not match.
Where is the sleep timer on a TCL TV?
Start with your TV’s operating system. TCL’s official support pages, accessed October 7, 2026, document these routes; menu labels and available options can differ by model or software version.

On Roku, the Options button is a shortcut from what you are watching; the other documented routes begin in Settings. If your TV’s menus differ, consult the manual for its exact model. What happens when the timer runs out?
The TV powers off after the selected amount of time, stopping the video or audio playing through it. The timer needs to be set on the TV if you want the TV itself to shut down: a timer set only on a cable box or separate streaming device may not turn off the television. Why can’t I find the sleep timer?
- Check which platform the TV uses. Roku, Google TV, Fire TV, and Android TV have different menu routes; follow the matching row above.
- Look for alternate labels. Depending on the platform, the setting may appear under System, Power, Energy, Display & Sounds, or Screen saver.
- Check the exact model’s manual. TCL says menu names and available options can vary by model and software version; the documented routes do not establish one universal path or timer-duration list.
- Make sure you are setting the TV’s timer. A timer on an attached device is not necessarily the television’s own sleep timer.
