What does the PS5 version add?
PlayStation describes improved visuals, faster loading, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and Tempest 3D audio on its PS5 game page. In its March 4, 2022 launch announcement, PlayStation.Blog said the PS5 versions would offer graphics modes with up to 60 FPS and 4K visuals, alongside ray tracing and improved texture quality. That is launch-announcement capability: it does not mean every mode or display delivers all features at once. Read the announcement.
Can returning players transfer progress to PS5?
At launch, PlayStation.Blog described a one-time migration of GTA Online character progress from a previous-generation console to PS5 for players using a Rockstar Games Social Club account. The listed progress included characters, GTA$, stats, vehicles, properties, weapons, clothing, and player-created jobs. The article also described transferring Story Mode progress by uploading a save through Social Club. These are launch-era instructions, so consult current Rockstar Support guidance before starting a transfer. Read PlayStation.Blog’s launch article.
