Yatra Online Limited has reportedly received a GST show cause notice for FY 2022–23 proposing ₹21.36 crore in tax. A contemporaneous report puts the accompanying interest at ₹16.98 crore and penalty at ₹1.52 crore, for ₹39.86 crore in total proposed exposure. A show cause notice is not a final adjudication: the available reporting does not establish that Yatra has paid the amount or that an authority has issued a final order.

What the reported notice says

Tulsian AI News Agent reported on October 1, 2026, that a Maharashtra DRC-01 notice dated September 30, 2026, was issued to Yatra Online Limited for FY 2022–23. The report describes the ₹21.36 crore figure as the tax component and gives the following additional amounts:

Component Amount reported
Proposed tax ₹21.36 crore
Interest ₹16.98 crore
Penalty ₹1.52 crore
Total potential exposure reported ₹39.86 crore

The ₹39.86 crore figure is the report’s sum of tax, interest and penalty—not a confirmed final liability. The notice-specific figures and description come from Tulsian AI News Agent’s October 1 report; the underlying exchange attachment was not available in the reporting reviewed here.

What the dispute is reportedly about

The Tulsian report says the issue concerns receipts reflected in bank statements that were treated as taxable turnover. It reports that Yatra’s position is that the receipts were facilitator payments to hotels. This is an account of the company’s position as presented in secondary reporting, not a verified direct statement from Yatra.

Why a show cause notice is not a final tax bill

A show cause notice sets out an authority’s allegations and proposed demand and gives the recipient a procedural opportunity to respond. It does not, by itself, establish that the proposed amount is finally payable. The available sources do not establish a final order, payment, appeal, or admission by Yatra in relation to this FY23 notice.

A separate notice concerns Yatra’s subsidiary

Sahi reported on October 2, 2026, that Yatra’s wholly owned subsidiary, Globe All India Services Limited, received a separate notice in Bengaluru with a reported proposed tax demand of ₹18.53 crore. It is a different legal entity and a different notice; that figure should not be added to the ₹21.36 crore tax component reported for Yatra Online Limited as though it were part of the same demand.

Reported matter Entity named Authority/location reported Reported tax component Outcome established by available reporting
FY23 notice reported October 1, 2026 Yatra Online Limited Maharashtra ₹21.36 crore No final outcome established
Separate notice reported October 2, 2026 Globe All India Services Limited Bengaluru ₹18.53 crore No final outcome established

The subsidiary figure and notice details are from Sahi’s October 2 report.

Do not confuse this notice with an older GST issue

A separate Yatra filing hosted by NSE concerns an older dispute involving management salary costs and cross-charge invoices. That filing refers to an INR 21.51 crore demand that Yatra had paid before that separate show cause notice, and cites CBIC Circular No. 199/11/2023-GST dated July 17, 2023. It is not evidence that the ₹21.36 crore FY23 notice has been paid or resolved, and the two matters should not be conflated. Yatra’s annual reports also discuss other GST and service-tax notices with varying histories and procedural statuses; those background disclosures do not determine the status of this September 2026 notice.

What is confirmed—and what remains unclear

The company’s investor-relations resources identify Yatra Online Limited and provide exchange-compliance materials, but the exact notice attachment was not surfaced in the available results. The notice details in this article therefore rely on the cited contemporary reports. No verified statement from a Yatra spokesperson or tax authority about this specific notice was available, and the sources do not establish what response, if any, Yatra has submitted.
