Start by identifying the exact Xteink model and the stage that is failing. A reader that cannot see a Wi‑Fi network has a different problem from one that joins Wi‑Fi but will not bind to the phone app, and both differ from a book that transfers but will not open. XTEINK documents separate procedures for the X4, X4 Classic (X4 V2), X4 Pro and X3, so a menu name or transfer method that is correct for one model may be wrong for another.
Use the sequence below to isolate network access, app binding, cloud transfer and file compatibility. Stop as soon as you identify the failed stage; repeating a transfer will not fix an unsupported file format, and changing router settings will not repair an account-binding loop.

1. Identify the failure stage before changing anything
Write down the model name exactly as shown on the device, box or matching XTEINK guide, along with the installed firmware version. Then classify what you see:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Network discovery failure: no wireless network appears in the reader’s Wi‑Fi list.
- Network connection failure: your network is visible, but the reader cannot join it or repeatedly disconnects.
- App-binding failure: the reader has network access, but the phone app cannot associate with the device or keeps returning to the login or QR screen.
- Sync or transfer failure: the app accepts an import, but the book does not arrive after you select Cloud Sync.
- File-opening failure: the transferred item is visible, but it does not appear in the library or will not open.
These stages have different tests. For example, a successful Wi‑Fi connection proves only that the reader reached the network; it does not prove that the app account is bound or that the file is supported.

2. Confirm the model and use its matching guide
The X4, X4 Classic (also called X4 V2), X4 Pro and X3 are covered by separate entries in XTEINK’s guide index. Check the model before following a menu path, reset instruction or transfer workflow. In particular:
- The X4 Pro guide documents account binding, app transfer, Cloud Sync and a USB Mode.
- The original X4 documentation describes Wi‑Fi checks and an offline microSD-card method.
- The X4 Classic/X4 V2 and X3 should be handled from their own current manuals rather than by assuming they share the original X4 or X4 Pro menus.
Firmware can change labels and available functions. If your screen does not contain a menu named in the instructions for your model, do not substitute a similarly named option from another model. Record the model, firmware and the screen where the process diverges; that information is useful when contacting XTEINK support.
3. Fix Wi‑Fi access on the original X4
The following network checks come from the original X4 manual and should not be treated as universal instructions for every Xteink reader.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
When no network appears
- Open the X4’s Wi‑Fi settings and rescan.
- If nearby networks still do not appear, check whether the router provides a 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network. The manual specifically calls out 2.4 GHz when the X4 cannot detect networks.
- If your router combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one name, temporarily expose or enable a separate 2.4 GHz network for the test. The purpose is diagnosis; use your router’s own documentation for the exact setting.
A phone being connected to the same router does not prove that the X4 can use the same radio band or network configuration. Test visibility first, before attempting app pairing.
When the network is visible but joining fails
- Try a different Wi‑Fi network.
- If available, create a temporary mobile hotspot and attempt to connect the X4 to it.
- Move the reader closer to the router during the test, eliminating distance and signal strength as variables.
If the X4 joins a hotspot but not the home network, the reader’s wireless hardware is at least able to associate; investigate the home router’s band or access settings. If it cannot join either network, capture the exact error and continue with the reset and support steps below rather than repeatedly entering the same password.
When a system update fails
The original X4 manual recommends pressing its RESET button and restarting, trying another network, or moving closer to the router after an unsuccessful system update. Apply those actions only to an original X4 confirmed against the matching manual. A reset or restart is not evidence that an account has been unbound, so check the device state again before attempting another update.
4. Bind an X4 Pro to the XTEINK app
The X4 Pro uses an explicit account-binding sequence. Complete it before trying to send a book.

- On the X4 Pro, open the menu in the upper-right corner.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Log In to Account. The reader displays a QR code.
- Open the XTEINK phone app, scan the displayed QR code and follow the prompts.
- Confirm that the reader is listed in the app’s Devices tab.
If the QR process returns to the same screen, distinguish an account-binding problem from a Wi‑Fi problem. Note whether the reader remained online, whether the app recognized the QR code, and the exact point at which it looped. The published X4 Pro material does not provide one universal recovery sequence for every binding error, so do not invent a factory-reset routine or apply an X4 reset instruction. Send the model, firmware, app version and error details to the model-specific support channel instead.
5. Transfer a compatible book with Cloud Sync on X4 Pro
Once the X4 Pro is bound and online, use the documented order. Changing the order can make a successful import look like a failed connection.
- Confirm that the X4 Pro is connected to Wi‑Fi.
- In the phone app, open the Devices tab and select the bound reader.
- Import a file in a format supported by the X4 Pro (see the compatibility section).
- On the reader, choose Cloud Sync.
- Wait for the item to finish arriving, then check the library.
If the app shows an imported file but the reader does not, verify that Cloud Sync was selected on the reader and that the device was still online. If the file arrives but is absent from the library or will not open, stop troubleshooting the network: the next check is the file itself.
6. Check file compatibility before repeating a transfer
For the X4 Pro, XTEINK’s product information lists these categories:
Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchPC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11| Category | Formats listed for X4 Pro | What a successful transfer means |
|---|---|---|
| Documents | EPUB and TXT | The item can be delivered; it still must be a readable, non-corrupt file. |
| Images | JPG and BMP | An image transfer does not establish that other image extensions are supported. |
| Fonts | BIN and XTF | These are listed as font files, not ordinary ebook documents. |
The X4 Pro FAQ specifically advises checking the format when a file does not appear or open. Do not assume that PDF, MOBI, PNG, store-specific packages or DRM-protected books will work simply because they transferred from the phone. A transfer-complete message confirms delivery to the device or service, not successful parsing by the reader.
Make a clean compatibility test
- Choose a small, non-DRM EPUB or plain TXT file that you know opens elsewhere.
- Import only that file into the XTEINK app.
- Run Cloud Sync on the X4 Pro.
- Check whether it appears and opens.
If the clean EPUB or TXT test works, the connection path is functioning and the original file needs conversion, removal of DRM where legally permitted, or repair. If even the clean test fails, return to the binding and Wi‑Fi stages and record the result for support.
7. Use the correct offline or wired fallback
Offline transfer is model-dependent. The original X4 and X4 Pro do not use the same physical workflow.

Original X4: microSD-card transfer
An independent transfer guide documents this route for the original X4 and states that the reader does not mount its microSD card as a USB drive over USB‑C. You need a computer and a USB microSD card reader.
- Power the original X4 down completely.
- Remove its microSD card.
- Insert the card into the computer’s card reader.
- Copy compatible ebook files to the card using the computer’s file manager.
- Eject the card safely from the computer.
- Reinsert the card in the X4.
- Start the reader and check its library.
Do not pull the card while files are being written, and do not infer from the presence of a USB‑C socket that the card will appear as a removable drive. A USB microSD card reader is an optional tool for this specific offline route, not a cure for a Wi‑Fi or account problem.
X4 Pro: USB Mode
The X4 Pro product documentation describes a separate USB Mode. Select that mode on the reader, then connect it to a computer and check whether the device appears as the documented storage connection. Use the X4 Pro’s own on-screen instructions and manual for the exact menu location and file handling. Do not apply the original X4 card-removal procedure to an X4 Pro unless its current manual explicitly instructs you to do so.
8. Compare the available routes before choosing one
| Route | Models explicitly associated in the documentation | Internet required? | Best use | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wi‑Fi connection | Original X4 troubleshooting; required for X4 Pro cloud workflow | Yes for online services | Getting the reader online and preparing Cloud Sync | Does not solve unsupported files or app-binding errors |
| XTEINK app binding and Cloud Sync | X4 Pro | Yes | Sending a compatible file from the app | Requires account binding, Wi‑Fi and a supported format |
| microSD card with USB reader | Original X4 | No, after files are available locally | Offline copying when Wi‑Fi or app transfer is inconvenient | Requires removing the card; original X4 does not mount it as a USB drive over USB‑C |
| USB Mode | X4 Pro | No, for local copying | Computer transfer using the reader’s documented wired mode | Do not assume the same mode exists on other models |
| CrossPoint ecosystem | Optional third-party environment | Local Wi‑Fi is used by its companion app | Advanced EPUB transfer and file management | Changes the software environment and is not required for ordinary stock-firmware troubleshooting |
9. Consider CrossPoint only as an advanced alternative
CrossPoint is a third-party firmware and transfer ecosystem, separate from the stock XTEINK app. Its companion app describes EPUB transfer and file management over local Wi‑Fi. Installing or switching to custom firmware changes the software environment, so it should not be the first response to a normal stock-firmware connection problem.
- Use the project’s current documentation before changing firmware.
- Confirm that you understand how to return to or maintain your present software setup.
- Do not treat CrossPoint as a prerequisite for X4 or X4 Pro Wi‑Fi, binding or Cloud Sync.
If your goal is simply to send a supported EPUB or TXT file, resolve the stock workflow first. A custom environment is a separate choice, not a diagnostic step that proves the original hardware is defective.

10. A symptom-to-action checklist
- No networks listed on original X4: verify 2.4 GHz availability, then test another network or hotspot.
- Original X4 update fails: use the manual’s RESET-and-restart instruction, try another network and move closer to the router.
- X4 Pro cannot complete QR binding: confirm Wi‑Fi, record the loop or error, and contact model-specific support with firmware and app versions.
- X4 Pro app import succeeds but reader is unchanged: select the reader in Devices, confirm it is online and choose Cloud Sync on the reader.
- Book arrives but will not open: test a clean EPUB or TXT file and check whether the original is an unsupported format, DRM-protected or corrupt.
- You need an offline original-X4 transfer: power down, copy through a microSD card reader, safely eject, reinstall the card and restart.
- You own an X4 Pro and want a cable: use its documented USB Mode rather than assuming the original X4 card workflow applies.
11. What to send support when the problem persists
Provide a compact diagnostic record instead of saying only that the reader will not sync:
- Exact model: X4, X4 Classic/X4 V2, X4 Pro or X3.
- Firmware version shown on the reader.
- Phone operating system and XTEINK app version.
- Whether any Wi‑Fi network is visible.
- Whether the reader joined a home network or mobile hotspot.
- Whether X4 Pro QR binding completed and whether the device appears in Devices.
- The file extension and whether a clean EPUB or TXT test behaved differently.
- The precise screen, button or error message where the process stopped.
The original X4 troubleshooting text available publicly comes from a manual hosted by a third-party manual repository, while the independent card-transfer instructions are not manufacturer documentation. Because menu labels and recovery procedures can be firmware-specific, use the matching current XTEINK guide and support channel for final instructions, especially before resetting a reader or changing firmware.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
12. Check storage and accessories before replacing anything
A failed transfer does not automatically mean the microSD card or reader must be replaced. First prove that the problem is storage-related: a known-good, supported EPUB or TXT file should fail through the same route, and the reader should show a storage or file error rather than merely remaining offline. Avoid formatting a card while it contains books you have not backed up.
The X4 Pro product information says it ships with a 16 GB microSD card and supports expansion up to 256 GB. Those figures apply to the X4 Pro specification, not automatically to the original X4, X4 Classic or X3. If a card replacement becomes necessary, verify the capacity and file-system requirements in the current manual for your exact model instead of copying the X4 Pro limit to another reader.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →For an original X4 offline transfer, the practical accessory is a USB microSD card reader. It is inexpensive task-enabling hardware, but it will not repair Wi‑Fi, account binding or unsupported formats. X4 Pro owners may not need one because USB Mode provides a separate wired route. Choose the accessory only after matching it to the model and the transfer stage.
13. Avoid these common troubleshooting mistakes
- Mixing model instructions: applying an original-X4 RESET or card-removal procedure to an X4 Pro can send you into the wrong menu or workflow.
- Changing several variables at once: test one network, one account-binding attempt and one known-good file so you can identify the cause.
- Using a file extension as proof: an EPUB name does not guarantee a valid, readable EPUB; a damaged or protected file can still transfer.
- Assuming USB-C means USB storage: the original X4’s card is documented as a card-reader workflow, while X4 Pro has its own USB Mode.
- Resetting too early: a reset may erase settings without addressing a router-band or format problem. Use only the reset instruction in the matching guide.
- Installing custom firmware as a first fix: CrossPoint is optional and changes the software environment; it is not required for ordinary stock transfer.
After each test, write down the result: network visible or not, joined or not, QR binding completed or not, Cloud Sync selected or not, and file opened or not. This simple sequence prevents cycling through the same failed action and gives support a reproducible case.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Xteink show Wi‑Fi but still not sync books?
Wi‑Fi access and synchronization are separate stages. On an X4 Pro, the reader must be bound through Log In to Account, appear in the app’s Devices tab, receive an imported compatible file, and then run Cloud Sync on the reader. Check each stage in that order.
Can I use a phone hotspot to troubleshoot an original X4?
Yes. The original X4 manual recommends trying another network or a mobile hotspot when connection fails. If the hotspot works but your router does not, investigate the router’s band or access settings; if neither works, record the error for support.
Does the X4 Pro open PDF or MOBI files?
The listed X4 Pro document formats are EPUB and TXT. Do not assume PDF, MOBI, PNG, store-specific packages or DRM-protected books are supported. Test with a small, non-DRM EPUB or TXT file.

Why does my transferred book not appear in the library?
Confirm that Cloud Sync was selected on the X4 Pro and that the reader stayed online. If it arrived but will not appear or open, check the file format and integrity rather than repeating network troubleshooting.
Can the original X4 connect to a computer over USB-C for file copying?
The documented original-X4 method removes the microSD card and copies files with a USB microSD card reader; it does not mount the card as a USB drive over USB-C. X4 Pro has a distinct USB Mode.
Is CrossPoint required to transfer books?
No. CrossPoint is an optional third-party firmware and local-Wi‑Fi ecosystem. Resolve the stock XTEINK app, Wi‑Fi and file-format workflow first, and consult CrossPoint’s current documentation before changing firmware.
What information should I give XTEINK support?
Include the exact model, firmware, phone and app versions, whether networks are visible, whether a hotspot works, the QR-binding result, the file extension, the result of a clean EPUB or TXT test, and the exact screen or error where the process stops.
Should I replace the microSD card when syncing fails?
Not automatically. First isolate the failure stage with a known-good supported file. If replacement is genuinely needed, verify capacity and compatibility for your exact model; the X4 Pro specification lists a supplied 16 GB card and expansion up to 256 GB, which should not be assumed for other models.
The Bottom Line
Work from the model and the failed stage. Use 2.4 GHz, hotspot and reset checks only for the original X4 instructions; use QR account binding, Devices selection and Cloud Sync for the X4 Pro; test EPUB/TXT compatibility before blaming the network; and choose microSD or USB Mode only when your model documents that path. If the exact guide does not resolve the issue, send support a complete model, firmware, app, network, file and error record rather than repeating unrelated resets.
