Its trade-off is modest usable capacity and wireless speed that depends on the phone. Xiaomi specifies up to 15W wireless charging for the Xiaomi 17 Series, up to 7.5W for iPhone series devices, and up to 22.5W over USB-C. The 5,000mAh figure describes typical cell capacity; rated output capacity is 3,000mAh at 5V.
What makes it convenient for everyday use?
Xiaomi lists dimensions of 98.5 × 71.5 × 6mm and a weight of 98g. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. At 6mm, the pack is designed to sit behind a phone without the bulk of a conventional power bank, making it suited to a light top-up during a commute or while out for the day. Convenience depends on having a phone and case that align with its magnetic charging surface.

GSMArena describes the exterior as anodized aluminum with a soft-touch plastic underside. That is the publication’s description of the unit it reviewed. Magnetic attachment does not, by itself, establish a certification: GSMArena says the product is neither MagSafe nor Qi certified, and Xiaomi’s product information does not claim Qi2 certification. Do not assume that every magnetic phone or accessory will attach securely or charge at the advertised rate.

What capacity does “5000” mean in practice?
The “5000” refers to typical battery-cell capacity, not 5,000mAh delivered to a phone at 5V. Xiaomi’s UAE specifications list typical capacity as 5,000mAh at 3.79V and rated output capacity as 3,000mAh at 5V. Xiaomi’s Pakistan FAQ explains that conversion from the cell’s voltage reduces the capacity available at the output. That 3,000mAh rated figure is the more relevant one when judging how much charge the pack can deliver, though actual results also depend on the phone and charging losses.

Xiaomi lists 18.95Wh typical battery energy and 18.58Wh rated energy for the UAE model, MDY-20-EB. A universal number of full phone charges cannot be inferred from the cell-capacity label: Xiaomi’s FAQ says charge counts vary with conversion losses, and phone battery sizes and charging behavior differ.
How fast does it charge wirelessly?
The 15W maximum is not universal. Xiaomi says 15W wireless charging is supported on the Xiaomi 17 Series; its UAE specification lists iPhone series devices at up to 7.5W. Other phones may charge more slowly, and a magnetic connection alone does not establish that a particular phone supports the required wireless mode.

GSMArena’s 2026 review provides a useful example of how results vary. In its tests, an iPhone 15 Pro went from 1% to 27% in 30 minutes, 46% in an hour and 75% in two hours; the power bank depleted at about two and a half hours, when the phone had reached 91%. A Pixel 11 Pro went from 1% to 11% in 30 minutes, 21% in an hour and 39% in two hours; it reached 55% when the bank depleted after about three hours. GSMArena says the Pixel’s wireless power reading never exceeded 5W.

Those are GSMArena’s results for those particular phones, not a guarantee for another device. The reviewer did not have a Xiaomi 17 available, so the review did not independently test the advertised 15W mode.

Can you use a case, and will the magnets hold?
Case material, thickness, magnet placement and the phone’s own wireless-charging support all affect the fit. Xiaomi’s global page warns that cases thicker than 2.5mm may compromise connectivity. Xiaomi India’s FAQ recommends a non-metal case no thicker than 2mm and advises using a magnetic case for secure attachment on supported phones. Because the regional guidance differs, treating 2mm as a conservative limit follows the stricter FAQ recommendation; check the instructions for the product sold in your market.
- Avoid metal cases, which Xiaomi India’s FAQ does not recommend.
- For secure magnetic attachment, Xiaomi recommends a magnetic case on supported phones.
- If charging is unreliable, remove the case and check that the phone is centered on the charging surface.
Does it support wired charging?
Yes. Xiaomi specifies USB-C output at 5V/3A or 9V/2.5A, up to 22.5W. Xiaomi says the fast wired mode requires a Xiaomi USB-C cable rated for 3A or higher. GSMArena’s Pixel 11 Pro test reported 23% after 15 minutes and 41% after 30 minutes over wired charging; the power bank depleted after 51 minutes with the phone at 61%. These are that review’s device-specific results, not a promised charging curve for other phones.

Can it charge two devices at once?
Xiaomi says the power bank can provide USB-C and wireless output simultaneously. The UAE specification lists up to 7.5W over USB-C plus 5W wireless in this mode, rather than the single-output maximums. Xiaomi’s product page describes activating simultaneous charging with one press of the power button, while the India FAQ says to press the battery-check button twice quickly if USB-C charging has disabled wireless output by default. Regional instructions differ, so follow the manual supplied with your market’s version.
Xiaomi Pakistan also says the bank itself can be recharged while it wirelessly charges another device. That describes pass-through operation; it does not change the stated output limits.

Who should buy it—and who should choose a larger pack?
It makes sense if portability is the priority
At Xiaomi’s specified 6mm and 98g, this pack is aimed at people who want a slim magnetic battery for occasional top-ups and whose phone supports a compatible charging mode. Xiaomi 17 Series owners have the clearest fit for the stated 15W wireless rate. iPhone owners can use wireless charging, but Xiaomi’s published ceiling for iPhone series is 7.5W.
Look elsewhere if you need more capacity or broad compatibility
The 3,000mAh rated output capacity makes this a small reserve, not a dependable substitute for a higher-capacity power bank on a long day. If your Android phone’s magnetic charging compatibility is uncertain, or you want faster charging than its wireless behavior permits, use USB-C or consider a larger pack. The Pixel 11 Pro results reported by GSMArena show that magnetic wireless charging can be slow on a phone outside Xiaomi’s stated 15W family.
