On paper, the Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 leads on chipset tier, battery capacity and maximum wired charging power. The realme 16 Pro leads on screen size, stated refresh rate, main-camera resolution and front-camera resolution. In the India listings we checked, the Redmi Turbo 5 was priced at ₹41,999 and the realme 16 Pro at ₹44,999, a displayed gap of ₹3,000 in the realme’s disfavour. Those prices are snapshots, not guaranteed current offers, and they should be matched to the same RAM and storage configuration before you rely on them.
Specs at a glance
The figures below are the manufacturers’ own listed specifications. Xiaomi’s values come from its India product page; realme’s come from its global product page, which lists several regional network-band variants. Neither table entry is a measured result.

Performance platform
The Redmi Turbo 5 is built around MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500-Ultra, a 4nm chip with a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU and a listed CPU ceiling of 3.4GHz. The realme 16 Pro uses the Dimensity 7300 Max with a Mali-G615 GPU. Both are MediaTek mid-range platforms, but the Redmi’s listed silicon sits higher in the lineup.

Display
The realme 16 Pro has the larger panel, at 6.78 inches against 6.59 inches, and the higher stated refresh ceiling, 144Hz against 120Hz. Both are AMOLED panels with similar pixel counts. A Gadgets360 comparison lists the realme screen at 6.75 inches; this article uses realme’s own 6.78-inch figure. If screen size matters most, the realme is the better fit. If you want a smaller handset, the Redmi is the one to choose.
Cameras
The realme 16 Pro’s 200MP main sensor, with OIS, has more than four times the pixel count of the Redmi’s 50MP IMX882. The Redmi’s sensor is listed at f/1.5, a wider aperture than realme’s f/1.8, and both phones use OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide. Pixel count and aperture do not determine photo quality; sensor size, processing and tuning do, and those are not established by the spec sheets. The front camera also favours realme on listed resolution, 50MP against 20MP, but the same caveat applies to selfies. Video is the one area where Xiaomi lists a stronger figure: 4K at up to 60fps for the rear camera, compared with realme’s 4K at 30fps.

Battery and charging
The Redmi Turbo 5 has the larger typical battery, 7,540mAh against 7,000mAh, and the faster listed wired charging, 100W against 80W. Both figures are manufacturer specifications. Neither is a measured endurance result, and neither guarantees a particular charge time. Actual charging speed depends on the supplied charger, cable, battery temperature and charge level. Check which charger is in the box in your market before assuming either rating applies.
Memory, storage and software
Both phones are offered with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The main difference is the top configuration: realme’s global page lists a 12GB + 512GB version, while Xiaomi’s India specifications list 256GB. The Redmi’s 12GB variant uses faster LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage, compared with LPDDR4X and UFS 3.1 on the realme. Whether those differences matter depends on how you use the phone; they are not measured here.

The India price difference
Two India listings show the Redmi Turbo 5 at ₹41,999. A 91mobiles listing of Amazon India prices shows the realme 16 Pro at ₹44,999, so the displayed gap is ₹3,000, roughly 7% more than the Redmi. The listing does not carry a reliable capture date, and an Amazon price can reflect a specific configuration, bank offer or stock level. Confirm the exact RAM and storage combination on both listings before treating the gap as real. Outside India, these prices do not apply.

Which phone suits which buyer
Choose the REDMI Turbo 5 if
- You want the higher listed chipset tier and the larger battery.
- Faster rated wired charging matters to you, and you have or will buy a charger that supports 100W.
- You prefer a smaller handset and a lower price in the India snapshots.
- Xiaomi’s stated update horizon is important to you.
Choose the realme 16 Pro if
- You want the larger 6.78-inch screen with the 144Hz ceiling.
- You value the 200MP main camera or the 50MP front camera on paper.
- You need the 512GB storage option, if it is available where you live.
Before you buy
- Compare the same RAM and storage configuration on both listings.
- Confirm the network bands for your carrier, since realme’s global page lists regional variants.
- Check the warranty terms and package contents in your market. Xiaomi’s India package includes a protective case and a factory-applied screen protector; those items may differ elsewhere.
- Look up the live price on the seller’s page, not in an article.
