Display: Redmi is listed with AMOLED; Moto with LCD
Xiaomi Germany lists the Redmi Note 17 5G with a 6.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel at 2396 × 1080 resolution and up to 120 Hz. The 91mobiles comparison reports a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD at 120 Hz for the Moto. If display type, screen size or contrast is a priority, those reported differences favor the Redmi on paper. They do not establish comparative brightness, color accuracy or outdoor visibility.
Performance: compare the processors cautiously
Xiaomi lists a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, 4 nm octa-core processor with a peak clock of 2.3 GHz for its Germany Redmi model. 91mobiles lists the Moto’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 at up to 2.4 GHz. Peak clock speed alone cannot establish which phone is faster: performance also depends on chip design, cooling, software and the task. The cited material does not provide independently sourced, comparable performance testing, so a definitive speed ranking is not established.

Cameras: Moto has a reported ultrawide, but the Redmi selfie spec conflicts
For rear-camera coverage, 91mobiles reports a 50 MP main camera plus an 8 MP ultrawide on the Moto. It reports a 50 MP main camera and an additional 2 MP sensor for the Redmi. The ultrawide gives the Moto a more flexible listed lens combination for fitting more into a frame; megapixel counts alone do not show which phone takes better photos.

Battery and charging: reported Redmi advantage, with a regional discrepancy
Xiaomi Germany lists a 7,700 mAh Redmi battery and 45 W TurboCharge. 91mobiles reports 8,000 mAh for the Redmi in its India comparison. For the Moto, 91mobiles reports 7,000 mAh and 30 W charging. These figures suggest greater listed capacity and faster charging for the Redmi, but battery capacity does not by itself determine real-world endurance, and charging results depend on conditions and the supplied charger.
Xiaomi’s Germany page says a power adapter is not included and recommends a 45 W or higher Xiaomi adapter or a 45 W adapter supporting PD charging. It also says package contents vary by region, so check the local box contents and compatibility rather than assuming an adapter is included.

Software updates: longer Redmi commitment reported, not independently confirmed here
91mobiles reports Android 16 with HyperOS for the Redmi and four OS upgrades plus six years of security updates. For the Moto, it reports Android 16 with Hello UI, two OS upgrades and three years of security updates. These commitments are from the dated third-party comparison; confirm the terms for the exact regional model with the manufacturer before treating them as a purchase guarantee.
Build, protection and box contents
Xiaomi Germany lists the Redmi at 169.70 × 79.14 × 8.45 mm and 225 g, and says the measurements come from internal labs, so actual results may vary. The page lists IP65 and cautions that liquid damage outside its test conditions is not covered. Its package list names the phone, USB-C cable, SIM eject tool, protective case, quick-start guide and warranty card; Xiaomi warns that contents vary by region.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Redmi if its local version matches the listed advantages you want
- You prioritize an AMOLED display and the larger listed screen.
- You want the higher reported battery capacity and 45 W charging, after confirming which capacity applies to your market.
- You value the longer software-support period reported by 91mobiles and can verify it for your local SKU.
Consider the Moto if its camera mix or chipset suits your needs
- You want an ultrawide rear camera, which 91mobiles lists for the Moto but not for the Redmi.
- You prioritize the higher reported selfie-camera resolution, while recognizing that Redmi’s front-camera figure differs by source and market.
- You are comparing the specific Moto configuration at a current price that makes sense for you; the cited India comparison lists its 6/128 GB version at the same price as the Redmi’s 6/128 GB version.
Before deciding, match country and RAM/storage configuration, check current retailer prices, and confirm network-band compatibility and official specifications for the exact handset. For context beyond India, Cinco Días / Smartlife reported on 28 August 2026 that the Redmi Note 17 5G had an early-market converted price of about €257, while Spain-specific launch timing and pricing had not yet been confirmed at that date. That converted figure is not a local Spanish retail price. Cinco Días / Smartlife’s coverage supplies that dated context.
