This India-market comparison uses manufacturer specifications and store listings available on October 4, 2026; confirm the exact variant, seller and live offer before buying.

What the display and camera specifications mean
Display: Redmi leads on listed resolution and panel type
The Redmi’s 2392×1080 AMOLED panel has a higher listed resolution than the vivo’s 1600×720 LCD. Both list refresh rates up to 120Hz, but the shared refresh-rate figure does not make their display specifications equivalent. vivo lists 1200 nits for High Brightness Mode; that is a manufacturer-published figure, not a comparative brightness measurement. If screen sharpness or panel type is a priority, Redmi has the stronger specification sheet. Check both screens in person if possible.

Cameras: compare the setup, not just megapixels
Redmi lists a 50MP main and 2MP depth rear camera, a 20MP front camera and rear video recording up to 4K at 30fps. vivo lists a 50MP main and 0.08MP auxiliary rear camera, plus a 5MP front camera. These figures describe camera configurations and resolution; they do not establish which phone takes better photos or selfies. That requires comparable camera testing or your own sample photos.

Battery and charging: capacity is not runtime
Xiaomi lists a typical battery capacity of 5800mAh for the Redmi, while vivo lists 6500mAh for the T5 Lite. The vivo therefore has the larger rated capacity on paper, but capacity alone does not show how long either phone lasts in real use. No comparable endurance test is established here.
Xiaomi lists 45W Turbo Charging and a charger in the box. vivo lists 44W charging and also lists a charger in the box; its specification note says 44W is the maximum output when using the official vivo standard charger. The close wattage figures do not establish equal charging times.

Chipsets, software, storage and everyday trade-offs
The Redmi is listed with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, made on a 4nm process and clocked up to 2.4GHz. The vivo uses a Dimensity 6300 5G, listed on a 6nm process and also up to 2.4GHz. Clock speed alone cannot determine which phone performs better; no comparable performance test is available in these specifications.
The listed software differs too: Xiaomi specifies HyperOS 3 with Android 15, while vivo specifies Origin OS 6.0 with Android 16. These are the manufacturer-listed software versions, not a promise about future update duration. Consider which interface you prefer and check each manufacturer’s current update policy if support lifespan matters to you.

For storage, Redmi’s listed configurations top out at 8GB+256GB, while vivo’s top listed option is 6GB+256GB. The phones also differ in expansion and SIM arrangements: Xiaomi lists expandable storage up to 1TB with a hybrid second SIM/microSD slot; vivo lists expansion up to 2TB and dual nano-SIM. Check the exact variant and slot arrangement if you need two SIMs and a memory card at the same time.
Price difference in India
As of October 4, 2026, Xiaomi India’s store search listing showed the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G from ₹25,999, alongside a displayed marketing price of ₹34,999. The listing did not identify the RAM/storage variant for that starting price. vivo’s official e-store showed its selected 6GB+256GB T5 Lite 44W 5G at ₹26,999, with an MRP of ₹42,499. Thus, the surfaced vivo offer is ₹1,000 above Xiaomi’s “from” price, but the two prices are not a like-for-like comparison.

Check the Xiaomi India store and vivo’s selected-variant listing for current offers. Match RAM and storage as closely as possible, then check seller, stock, discounts, bank offers and exchange conditions. Prices, available configurations and product-page details can change.

Both phones carry dust and water resistance ratings, but neither should be treated as waterproof. Xiaomi says the device is certified as splash- and dust-resistant only under specific laboratory conditions that do not correspond to normal use. vivo says resistance to water jets and dust is not permanent and may reduce with daily use, SIM insertion or removal, drops and impacts; its store documentation says liquid-ingress damage is not covered by warranty. Avoid deliberate exposure to water, and consult the manufacturer’s documentation for the applicable conditions.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G if you prioritize the listed AMOLED panel and higher resolution, a 20MP front camera on paper, or the option of an 8GB RAM configuration.
- Consider the vivo T5 Lite 5G if its larger listed battery capacity, 6GB+256GB selected variant, or dual nano-SIM setup better fits your needs.
- Compare hands-on or independent tests before deciding based on photo quality, sustained performance, screen visibility or battery life; the published specifications alone cannot settle those questions.
