These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent image-quality, performance or battery-life results. Xiaomi’s India specifications are on its Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G specifications page; OPPO’s India page identifies the Reno16 as CPH2865 and lists its Reno16 5G specifications.

How much does each phone cost in India?
OPPO’s official India Store detail page states prices of ₹66,999 for the Reno16 8GB+256GB and ₹72,999 for the 12GB+256GB, with displayed list prices of ₹89,999 and ₹99,999 respectively. OPPO dates those figures to 31 August 2026 and says prices are subject to change. Check the OPPO India Store for current availability and checkout pricing.
Those are not the Reno16’s launch prices. In its 2 July 2026 launch announcement, OPPO gave launch prices of ₹61,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹67,999 for 12GB+256GB. The announcement is available at OPPO India’s Reno16 launch announcement.

For the Redmi, 91mobiles displayed an Amazon listing price of ₹39,490 in its 2026 comparison-page snapshot; the same snapshot showed ₹66,999 for the Reno16. The resulting ₹27,509 difference is only the difference between those displayed figures—not a same-day official price comparison or a guarantee of checkout prices. Which display suits you better?
Choose Redmi for more screen area
The Redmi’s 6.83-inch panel is substantially larger than the Reno16’s 6.32-inch display. Xiaomi lists a 1.5K-resolution AMOLED screen, up to 120Hz, with HDR10+, Dolby Vision and Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It is the more natural choice for people who prefer a larger viewing area for video, reading or games.

Choose Reno16 for a smaller handset
OPPO lists a 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate up to 120Hz. The smaller display makes the Reno16 the more compact option on paper; OPPO lists weights of approximately 182g to 193g depending on color. A higher resolution or larger size alone does not establish which screen looks better in person.
Which phone has the more useful camera system?
Reno16 adds a dedicated optical zoom camera
The Reno16 has three 50MP rear cameras: a wide camera with two-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), a 116-degree ultrawide, and a telephoto camera with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom. It also has a 50MP autofocus front camera. That mix gives it a dedicated zoom perspective and a higher-resolution selfie camera on the published specifications.

Redmi emphasizes its main camera’s resolution
Xiaomi lists a 200MP f/1.7 main camera with OIS and a 1/1.4-inch sensor, alongside an 8MP ultrawide. Its front camera is 32MP. The rear camera records up to 4K at 30 frames per second; OPPO lists up to 4K at 60fps for the Reno16.
Megapixel counts do not by themselves predict photo quality. Sensor size, lens design, image processing and performance in specific lighting conditions also matter, and the published specifications do not establish which phone takes better pictures overall.

How do their processors, memory and storage compare?
Xiaomi specifies the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a 4nm octa-core platform with a maximum listed clock speed of 2.7GHz. OPPO specifies the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and LPDDR5X RAM. The chipset names alone are not enough to declare a real-world speed winner; everyday performance also depends on software, workload and configuration.

The Redmi offers a 12GB+512GB configuration as well as 256GB options. OPPO lists 256GB storage with either 8GB or 12GB RAM and says a memory card is unsupported. Xiaomi does not list a removable-storage option for the configurations shown.

Battery capacity and charging: what do the numbers mean?
OPPO lists a slightly larger typical battery capacity: 6700mAh, with a rated capacity of 6490mAh. Xiaomi lists 6500mAh typical capacity. Xiaomi specifies 100W charging and says a charger is in the box; OPPO specifies up to 80W SUPERVOOC. The Redmi therefore has the higher stated wired-charging rating, while the Reno16 has the higher stated typical capacity.
Capacity and charging wattage are not battery-life or charging-time tests. Actual results depend on usage, temperature, charger and other conditions, so these figures alone cannot show which phone lasts longer or reaches a given charge level sooner.
Connectivity, durability and what comes in the box
Xiaomi lists dual nano-SIM or nano-SIM plus eSIM, Wi-Fi 6/6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. It warns that eSIM support depends on country, carrier and service plan. OPPO lists dual Nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4; it does not support eSIM, and OPPO’s India comparison page states that NFC is unsupported.
Both India spec pages list IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. Xiaomi says its ratings reflect specific laboratory conditions and that resistance is not assured beyond those conditions or after wear, damage or disassembly. Do not treat either phone’s rating as a promise of safety for pool or beach use.
Xiaomi’s listed package includes a 100W charger, protective case, USB-C cable and SIM eject tool. OPPO’s specification page lists an 80W charger in the box.
