The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G is the larger-screen, lower-listed-price option; the vivo X300 FE is more compact and adds a dedicated telephoto camera, wireless charging and a higher-tier chipset. In India, Xiaomi’s catalog showed the Redmi 8GB+128GB at ₹31,999, but out of stock, while vivo’s August 2026 release priced the X300 FE 8GB+256GB at ₹84,999. Those prices are for different configurations, so they are useful reference points—not a like-for-like or guaranteed current price gap.
Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G vs vivo X300 FE: key specifications
This comparison covers the India-market Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, not another Redmi Note 15 variant, and the India-market vivo X300 FE. The specifications below come from manufacturer product information and vivo’s dated India announcement; brightness figures are claims from different sources, not results from a shared test.

At 6.83 inches, the Redmi offers a substantially larger viewing area on paper, which may suit video, reading or a larger interface. The X300 FE’s 6.31-inch display makes it the more compact choice for buyers who prioritize a smaller phone. Choose by preferred size and handling rather than treating the brightness claims as a direct comparison: the manufacturers’ peak-nit figures are not a controlled, common test.

How the cameras differ
Redmi: high-resolution main camera
Xiaomi lists a 200MP optically stabilized main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. That is the more prominent main-camera resolution specification, but megapixels alone do not establish detail, color, low-light performance or overall image quality.
vivo: adds a dedicated telephoto
The X300 FE has 50MP ZEISS main and telephoto cameras, an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP ZEISS front camera. Its dedicated telephoto hardware is the clearest functional distinction for people who want a separate zoom camera. The higher listed front-camera resolution does not, by itself, prove better selfies.

Performance, battery and charging
The listed chipsets place the phones in different tiers on paper: Dimensity 7400-Ultra in the Redmi and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in the vivo. These names do not establish a measured real-world speed difference; the available comparison does not provide a common benchmark methodology.

Battery capacities are close—6580mAh for Redmi and 6500mAh for vivo—but capacity alone cannot predict runtime across different screens, software and usage. Xiaomi lists 45W wired charging. vivo lists 90W wired and 40W wireless charging, giving it more charging options in the published specifications.

India prices and availability
The clearest price comparison is configuration-specific and time-sensitive. Xiaomi’s India store catalog showed the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G 8GB+128GB at ₹31,999 when checked on 7 October 2026, marked out of stock. A separate Xiaomi listing paired the 8GB+256GB phone with a screen-protection plan for ₹37,298; that was a bundle, not a handset-only price, and it too was out of stock.
In its announcement dated 12 August 2026, vivo India listed these X300 FE prices:

vivo said the phone was available from 12 August 2026 through Flipkart, Amazon, the vivo India e-store and retail partners; offers were subject to terms. Prices, stock and promotions can change. The Redmi’s cited price is for 128GB storage, while vivo’s entry price is for 256GB, so subtracting them would not produce a like-for-like price difference. Check the exact RAM and storage variant and current in-stock seller price before deciding.

Durability and software support
Xiaomi advertises IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings and Gorilla Glass Victus 2; vivo advertises IP68 and IP69. These are manufacturer-stated protection ratings, not guarantees against damage, and neither should be treated as permission for intentional water exposure.
vivo states five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the X300 FE. 91mobiles lists four OS-upgrade years and six security-update years for the Redmi, but that duration was not corroborated by a current primary Xiaomi India source. Treat the Redmi figures as secondary-source information rather than a confirmed Xiaomi policy.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Redmi if
- You want the larger 6.83-inch display.
- You value a 200MP OIS main-camera specification and a large stated battery capacity.
- The lower listed price is important and you can find your preferred variant in stock.
Choose the vivo if
- You prefer the more compact 6.31-inch form factor.
- You will make use of a dedicated telephoto camera.
- Wireless charging, faster listed wired charging, the higher-tier chipset positioning or vivo’s stated support period matter enough to justify its price tier.
Before buying, compare the same RAM and storage where possible, verify live stock and price, and decide whether screen size or compact handling matters more. The specifications describe different trade-offs; they do not establish a universal winner.
