The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G has the larger listed battery and a published six-generation Android upgrade and six-year security-update commitment; Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 15 5G has a larger main-camera resolution and a slightly larger display. Both list 45W charging, but neither manufacturer’s figures alone establish which phone lasts longer or takes better photos. The comparison below is for the India-market Galaxy M47 5G and Xiaomi’s global Redmi Note 15 5G specification page; those sources are not country-matched, and Redmi Note 15 variants can differ by region.

Which phone has the better display?
On the published specifications, the Redmi Note 15 5G has the larger screen by 0.11 inches, while both phones list a 120Hz refresh rate and AMOLED technology. Samsung specifies Super AMOLED and gives its screen resolution as 1080 × 2340; Xiaomi lists 1080 × 2392. These figures describe size, panel type and resolution, not comparative brightness, color accuracy or outdoor readability.

Xiaomi lists a 108MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide, plus 4K recording at 30fps from the rear camera. Samsung lists three rear cameras—50MP, 5MP and 2MP—and specifies OIS. Optical image stabilization can help reduce the effect of hand movement, but megapixel counts and the presence of OIS do not by themselves establish which phone takes better photos. Image quality also depends on the sensors, lenses, processing and shooting conditions; no directly comparable camera test is provided here.

The Xiaomi page specifies a 20MP front camera and 1080p recording at 30fps. The cited 12MP Samsung front-camera figure comes from 91mobiles’ comparison listing, while Samsung’s product page promotes HDR capabilities. Confirm the front-camera resolution on the live Samsung page before relying on it.
Battery and charging: what the numbers do—and do not—tell you
Samsung lists a 6000mAh typical battery, compared with Xiaomi’s 5520mAh typical figure. Capacity is not a battery-life test: screen brightness, network conditions, workload and software affect real use. Samsung’s “up to 28 hours” video-playback figure is a manufacturer claim under its test conditions, not a directly comparable independent result for both phones.

Both manufacturers list 45W charging. The included power adapter is a separate issue: Samsung says its fast charger is sold separately. Xiaomi’s global product page says its box does not include a power adapter and recommends a compatible 45W PD or Xiaomi adapter, while also noting that package contents vary by region. Check the exact India package before buying a charger.
Software support and durability
Update policy
Samsung says the Galaxy M47 5G will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from its first global launch date; the same page says the policy may change and lists security updates through July 31, 2032. Samsung India gives June 29, 2026 as the launch date. Xiaomi’s cited specification page names HyperOS 2 but does not state an equivalent support period, so the available sources do not support a like-for-like update-duration comparison.

Water and drop protection
Xiaomi states an IP66 rating but cautions that certification applies under specific laboratory conditions and does not guarantee protection in normal use; liquid damage beyond those test conditions is excluded from warranty. Do not treat the Redmi as waterproof. Samsung promotes Gorilla Glass Victus+ and a 2.0m fall-endurance claim; that is Samsung’s claim, not independent drop testing.
India price difference: check the exact variant and seller
When accessed in 2026, 91mobiles displayed ₹28,999 for the Redmi Note 15 and ₹30,999 for the Galaxy M47 5G, an observed difference of ₹2,000 with Samsung higher. The page attributed the listings to Amazon India and showed 128GB storage, but these figures are not official MSRPs or guaranteed current prices, and the configurations may not be directly comparable. Samsung’s cited India page is specifically for the 6GB/128GB Rogue Red model; its price and configuration should not be generalized to every M47 variant. The Redmi figure refers to the listing labelled Redmi Note 15, while Xiaomi’s hardware page is for the global Redmi Note 15 5G. Verify that the offer is for the 5G model and a compatible India-market configuration.

Xiaomi lists a hybrid SIM slot, allowing a second nano-SIM or a microSD card, along with Bluetooth 5.1, 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi and 5G bands. Xiaomi warns that bands and connectivity vary by region and operator. Samsung’s cited listing is for the India model; check the operator’s supported bands and the exact device variant for your location rather than assuming that a global specification applies everywhere.
