This comparison covers the global Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G and the Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G listed for India—not Redmi Note 15 4G variants or every regional version. Their listed specifications point to different priorities: Samsung specifies rear-camera optical image stabilization (OIS), a larger battery and a long software-support commitment; Xiaomi’s phone is lighter and lists a 108MP main camera, an ultra-wide camera and a higher-resolution front camera. The available prices are from different markets and configurations, so they do not establish a meaningful price difference.
At a glance: which phone suits which buyer?
| Priority | Better fit on the listed specifications | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Rear-camera OIS and Samsung’s published support commitment | Galaxy F70 Pro 5G | Samsung lists OIS for its rear camera system and promises six OS generations and six years of security updates, with support stated through 31 July 2032. |
| Lighter body and an ultra-wide rear camera | Redmi Note 15 5G | Xiaomi lists a 178g body and an 8MP ultra-wide camera; the Samsung listing gives 206g and three rear cameras without specifying an ultra-wide lens. |
| Larger stated battery capacity | Galaxy F70 Pro 5G | Samsung lists a 6000mAh typical battery; Xiaomi lists 5520mAh typical. Capacity alone does not show which lasts longer in real use. |
| More onboard storage choices and larger maximum microSD capacity | Redmi Note 15 5G for onboard storage; Samsung for microSD ceiling | Xiaomi lists configurations up to 512GB onboard and microSD expansion up to 1TB. Samsung lists up to 256GB onboard in the reviewed configurations and microSD up to 2TB. |
These are specification-based differences, not results from comparative testing. A shared processor model does not establish equal performance, and camera resolution or battery capacity does not by itself predict real-world results.

| Connectivity | Dual standby; NFC may vary; bands and operator support vary by region | Dual SIM; 5G Sub-6 bands listed; 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC |
| In the box | USB-C cable, SIM eject tool, protective case, quick-start guide and warranty card are listed; contents may differ by region | Not stated in the reviewed Samsung listing |
Performance: same named processor, not a proven tie
Both listings identify the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Xiaomi specifies a 4nm process and an octa-core CPU up to 2.4GHz; Samsung’s spec table lists two CPU speeds, 2.4GHz and 1.8GHz. The matching chipset name is a useful baseline, but it does not prove identical sustained speed, thermals, memory behavior or gaming performance. No comparative benchmark is available here, so choose based on tested reviews if performance under particular apps or games is decisive.
Cameras: OIS versus resolution and an ultra-wide
The Redmi’s listed rear system pairs a 108MP main camera with an 8MP ultra-wide, while its front camera is 20MP. That gives Xiaomi the clearer specification advantage for a buyer who specifically wants an ultra-wide lens or prioritizes higher listed pixel counts. Megapixels do not establish detail, low-light quality or color accuracy, however.

Samsung lists a 50MP, 5MP and 2MP rear-camera arrangement and specifies OIS. OIS can help reduce blur from small camera movements, especially in still photos, but the listing alone cannot determine how the cameras compare in practice. Samsung’s front camera is 12MP and is listed without autofocus or OIS. Both phones list 4K recording at 30fps on the rear camera. There is no hands-on camera comparison supporting a quality winner.
Battery and charging: capacity is not endurance
Samsung specifies a 6000mAh typical battery, compared with Xiaomi’s 5520mAh typical capacity. Samsung also advertises up to 28 hours of video playback, an internal figure measured under controlled conditions; it is not a head-to-head battery test and should not be treated as typical mixed-use runtime. Actual endurance depends on usage, settings, network conditions and other factors.

Both phones support 45W charging according to their listings, but neither listing includes the power adapter: Xiaomi explicitly says it is not in the box and recommends a 45W PD-compatible or official Xiaomi adapter; Samsung says its 45W fast charger is sold separately. If you need a new charger, include that separate purchase when comparing total cost.
Design, display and protection
The Redmi is the more compact-feeling option by weight: Xiaomi lists 178g, while Samsung lists 206g. Samsung’s body is narrower and slightly shorter according to the listed dimensions, but thicker; hand comfort depends on more than weight or measurements alone.

Both listings specify AMOLED-family displays with 120Hz refresh rates. Xiaomi gives a 6.67-inch diagonal and resolution of 2392 × 1080, plus a 3200-nit peak-brightness figure from its internal lab. Samsung specifies Super AMOLED at 1080 × 2340 and reports diagonal size as 16.91cm across the full rectangle or 16.45cm accounting for rounded corners. These manufacturer figures are not a neutral side-by-side brightness or display-quality test.
Xiaomi’s global listing claims IP66 and qualifies the certification as applying under specific laboratory conditions, excluding liquid damage outside those test conditions. The Samsung India product information reviewed here does not establish an IP rating, so it should not be assumed to have one based on this comparison.

Software support and storage choices
Samsung makes the more specific long-term support commitment in these listings: six OS generations and six years of security updates, with support stated through 31 July 2032. Policies can change, and the promise applies to Samsung’s listed product rather than proving the timing of each update in every market. Xiaomi’s global page lists HyperOS 2 but does not provide an equivalent support-duration commitment in the specifications covered here.
Xiaomi’s listed configurations span 128GB to 512GB onboard storage, including a 12GB/512GB option, and its microSD ceiling is 1TB. Samsung’s India page lists 128GB or 256GB options with 6GB or 8GB RAM and microSD expansion up to 2TB. Actual availability varies by listing, so confirm the precise RAM/storage combination and local card-slot configuration before purchase.

Price difference: the available figures are not comparable
Samsung India’s buy page displayed a starting price of ₹39,999 for an 8GB-memory option when checked on 4 October 2026; prices can change. Cinco Días reported European Redmi Note 15 5G prices on 15 January 2026 of €299.99 for 8GB+256GB and €349.99 for 12GB+512GB. Those figures are from different countries, currencies, dates and configurations, so subtracting them would not produce a valid price gap.
For a meaningful comparison, check both phones’ live prices in the same country and match the RAM/storage tier as closely as possible. Also confirm warranty coverage, availability, included accessories and network-band compatibility for your market; the global Xiaomi specifications do not guarantee that every regional variant has the same connectivity or features.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G if
- Samsung’s listed rear-camera OIS is important to you.
- You prioritize the larger stated battery capacity or Samsung’s published software-support commitment.
- You want the option of microSD expansion up to the capacity Samsung lists.
Choose the Redmi Note 15 5G if
- You prefer the lighter listed body.
- You want an 8MP ultra-wide rear camera or a higher-resolution main and front camera on paper.
- You value the listed protective case or need one of Xiaomi’s higher onboard-storage configurations.
Before ordering, verify the exact regional model, 5G bands, NFC availability, storage tier, local warranty and current price. The specification sheets cannot settle actual camera quality, everyday battery life or comparative performance.
