Which models are being compared?
This comparison is specifically about the global Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G and the Samsung Galaxy A26 5G. Xiaomi also sells a 4G Redmi Note 15, which is a different model; its specifications, network bands, memory options and availability should not be assumed to match the 5G version. These are manufacturer specifications, not comparative lab measurements. In particular, display brightness figures should not be treated as directly comparable without matching measurement methods, and megapixel counts do not establish photo quality. Battery capacity alone does not predict how long either phone lasts in everyday use.

Display
Both phones advertise AMOLED-class screens and refresh rates up to 120 Hz. Xiaomi lists a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel and a peak-brightness figure; Samsung lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel. Because the brightness claims are not presented under a common measurement method here, the numbers cannot reliably tell you which screen is easier to see outdoors. If screen visibility is decisive, compare the exact regional models in person or look for independent tests using the same method.

Cameras
The listed hardware differs: Xiaomi specifies a 108 MP main camera plus an 8 MP ultra-wide, while Samsung’s US page lists a 50 MP rear wide camera. Xiaomi lists a 20 MP front camera; Samsung lists 13 MP. Those figures describe resolution, not the quality of processing, low-light photos, motion capture or video. The specifications alone do not identify a camera winner.
Battery, charging and durability
Battery and adapter
Xiaomi lists a 5,520 mAh typical battery and 45 W charging for the Redmi Note 15 5G. Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh typical battery for the Galaxy A26. These capacity figures are not runtime tests, so they do not prove which phone will last longer between charges. Xiaomi states, “No power adapter included in the box,” and recommends a 45 W adapter that supports PD charging or Xiaomi’s official 45 W adapter. Check the local package contents before buying because they may differ by region.

Water and dust ratings
The Redmi’s IP66 rating is qualified by Xiaomi as protection under specific laboratory conditions; the company excludes liquid damage outside those conditions. Samsung’s IP67 rating is based on up to 1 meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes in laboratory testing, and Samsung warns that resistance can diminish with wear. Neither rating guarantees protection from every liquid, depth, exposure or damaged-device scenario.

Samsung says the Galaxy A26 5G will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from its global launch date. Samsung notes that timing and availability can vary by model and market. The cited Xiaomi specifications do not establish an equivalent Redmi Note 15 5G support period, so a like-for-like update comparison cannot be made from these claims.

Do not use either snapshot as a current local quote or as a clean price difference. For a useful comparison, check live listings in your country for the same storage tier and condition, preferably from the same retailer; if sellers differ, identify them. Confirm the exact 5G model before comparing.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Redmi Note 15 5G if its listed 45 W charging, larger typical battery capacity, ultra-wide camera or up-to-1-TB microSD expansion fits your priorities. Account for the adapter not being included and confirm the hybrid SIM/microSD tray suits your setup.
- Consider the Galaxy A26 5G if Samsung’s stated six-generation OS upgrade and six-year security-update commitment is important to you, or if its IP67 freshwater laboratory rating better matches the protection specification you want. The rating still has the limits Samsung describes.
- Compare the exact local offers if price is the deciding factor. Match storage and condition, check seller and warranty terms, and compare the 5G Redmi against the Galaxy A26 5G rather than an unrelated 4G configuration.
The cited specifications do not establish a universal winner for performance or camera quality: they provide no matched independent everyday-use or photo testing. Treat chipset, memory and regional configuration details as purchase checks for the exact listings rather than assuming every market sells the same build.
