Samsung’s Galaxy A27 5G has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, a more fully specified rear-camera array with optical image stabilization, and a published long-term software-support commitment. There is no reliable single price difference to quote without matching local prices, storage configurations and discounts: Samsung has announced prices in the U.S. and India, while the sources reviewed do not establish a comparable official Redmi 15 price in either market.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not results from hands-on testing or independent performance, camera or battery-life comparisons. The model names matter: the Redmi 15 below is the version Xiaomi lists with Snapdragon 685, not the separate Redmi 15 5G.

Which display is the better fit?
Redmi 15: more screen area and a higher listed refresh rate
Xiaomi lists a 6.9-inch FHD+ LCD with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz for supported apps. It is the larger display by diagonal and has the higher maximum refresh-rate figure, but it is an LCD panel rather than AMOLED.

Galaxy A27 5G: Super AMOLED panel
Samsung lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The published specifications do not include independent brightness, color-accuracy or viewing tests, so panel type and refresh rate alone do not establish which screen looks better in use.
Battery capacity and charging
Xiaomi lists the Redmi 15 battery at 7,000mAh typical and 33W fast charging. Samsung lists the Galaxy A27 5G at 5,000mAh typical and 25W fast charging in its global specification table. The capacity figures are not runtime results: actual battery life varies with usage, settings, software and radio conditions.
Xiaomi’s Belgium specifications say a power adapter is not included in that listed package and recommend a Xiaomi 33W charger; package contents vary by region. Samsung’s global table lists 25W charging, but the sources here do not establish whether an adapter is included in every regional package. Check the local box contents before buying.

Camera hardware: what the lists show
Samsung specifies a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization, alongside a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. Xiaomi lists a 50MP main camera and an auxiliary lens for the Redmi 15. The Galaxy A27 5G’s front camera is listed at 12MP, compared with 8MP for the Redmi 15.
Those differences describe camera hardware, not photo quality. The published specifications do not provide comparative photo tests, so they cannot establish which phone takes better pictures.
Software and update support
Samsung’s stated commitment
Samsung says the Galaxy A27 5G will receive “up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades” and “up to six years of security updates from the initial global launch date.” The commitment is stated as “up to”; check Samsung’s policy for the exact regional model rather than treating it as a guaranteed calendar end date. Samsung’s U.S. product page phrases the commitment as six OS upgrades and six years of security updates from global manufacture.

Xiaomi’s published software information
The Xiaomi pages reviewed identify HyperOS 2 for the Redmi 15 but do not establish a directly comparable support-duration promise for this exact variant. Do not assume an update period stated for another Xiaomi model or market applies to this handset.
Price difference: announced Samsung prices, no like-for-like Redmi figure

For a useful local comparison, match the two phones by country, date, memory and storage tier, seller type, and whether discounts are included. A conditional cashback offer should not be treated as the standard listed price; current retailer prices can also differ from launch prices.

Confirm it is the Redmi 15, not Redmi 15 5G
Xiaomi lists Snapdragon 685 for the global Redmi 15 and has a separate Redmi 15 5G product page. Do not transfer the 5G model’s processor, network capability or other specifications to the Redmi 15 without the 5G suffix.

Xiaomi says Redmi 15 network bands and package contents vary by region, and NFC availability is not universal. Its Belgium page lists an NFC option with a regional-availability caveat; its global FAQ says NFC is supported in Europe but not Latin America or Asia for the described product. Confirm the precise local SKU and carrier bands before purchase.

Weight figures also vary between Xiaomi’s sources: the Belgium specification page lists 224g, while the global FAQ gives 214g standard and 225.43g ERP. Samsung’s global table lists 200g for the Galaxy A27 5G.
Water resistance: IP64 is not waterproofing
Both phones are listed with an IP64 rating. Do not interpret that as permission to submerge either device. Xiaomi warns that resistance can decrease with daily use and that liquid-submersion damage is not covered by its stated protection language.
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Redmi 15 if a larger display, a higher listed maximum refresh rate or greater stated battery capacity matters most to you.
- Consider the Galaxy A27 5G if you want a Super AMOLED screen, a specified OIS main camera plus ultrawide and macro cameras, or Samsung’s stated update-support commitment.
- Compare local prices before deciding if value is the deciding factor. Available official price announcements do not provide a matching Redmi 15 figure, and regional offers and configurations differ.
Neither specification sheet establishes a universal winner: display preference, actual battery runtime, camera results and current local price require evidence beyond the listed hardware figures.
