Xiaomi has launched a commemorative Mijia Pocket Photo Printer Pro gift box in China for 799 yuan. The package is built around Xiaomi’s dye-sublimation pocket printer and is reported to include a photo frame, storage bag, album, 50 sheets of photo paper and five ribbon cartridges. The same Pro printer is scheduled for Japan from 26 September 2025 at a suggested price of 15,800 yen, showing that bundle contents, pricing and availability vary by market.

Printer specifications and print process
The Pro uses dye-sublimation printing rather than an inkjet cartridge. Each 50×76 mm (2×3 inch) print is produced at up to 313×313 dpi, and Xiaomi’s global specification describes output of approximately one minute per sheet. Dye-sublimation paper and ribbon are model-specific consumables: the paper carries the image in successive color passes, while the ribbon supplies the dye.

Xiaomi says the printer automatically laminates every photo during printing. The company describes this finish as protection against everyday moisture and fading. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independent durability test, so exposure to water, heat and sunlight should still be kept within normal photo-handling conditions.
Sticker printing and supported media
The Pro supports adhesive media in addition to standard photo paper. Xiaomi Japan lists 20-sheet and 50-sheet dye-sublimation paper packs and 50-sheet photo-sticker packs. Sticker paper makes the small prints suitable for scrapbooks, journals, labels and room decor, but it does not remove the need to buy compatible ribbon cartridges.

Before purchasing refills, check that both the paper dimensions and ribbon type match the Pro. Packs sold for another Xiaomi pocket printer may not be interchangeable, and regional packaging can use different product names.

Bluetooth 5.2 connects the printer to the Xiaomi Home app. The global specification lists JPEG and PNG support, templates, frames and watermark tools. Xiaomi also promotes augmented-reality (AR) photos: after printing an AR-enabled image, scanning it in the app can play the associated digital content. AR playback depends on creating the print through the supported app workflow and retaining access to the associated digital asset.

The printer can be shared with up to three users after device sharing is enabled. This is useful for parties or family albums, but it is a shared-device limit rather than a promise that three phones can print simultaneously without queueing.
How to make a first print
- Install Xiaomi Home on the phone that will control the printer and sign in to the required Xiaomi account.
- Load the matching dye-sublimation paper according to the pack’s orientation marks, then install a ribbon cartridge.
- Turn on the printer and add it in Xiaomi Home over Bluetooth 5.2.
- Select a JPEG or PNG image, or choose a template, frame, watermark or AR-photo option in the app.
- Start the print and allow about one minute for the sheet to complete its color passes and protective lamination. Do not pull the paper out during the cycle.
- If other people need to print, use Xiaomi Home’s device-sharing controls and keep the total shared users within Xiaomi’s stated limit of three.

The Japanese figure is a suggested local price for the printer, not confirmation that the Chinese commemorative gift box is sold there. Taxes, retailer discounts, import costs, warranty coverage and stock can change the amount a customer actually pays.

What to check before buying
- Bundle contents: Confirm whether the listing includes the frame, storage bag, album, paper and five ribbons; accessory bundles are not automatically global.
- Refill supply: The included 50 sheets and ribbons are a starting supply. Ongoing printing requires dedicated paper and ribbon packs, including separate sticker media if adhesive prints are wanted.
- Phone compatibility: Xiaomi Home is required for the documented templates, AR functions and sharing controls. Check app and operating-system support in your region.
- Warranty and service: A China-market unit may have different warranty, firmware, plug and support terms from a locally sold model.
- Use case: The 2×3-inch format is suited to journals, albums and quick gifts, but it is not a replacement for larger photographic prints.
