Android Authority and GSMArena attribute the claim—and a striking set of proposed specifications—to leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS). Treat the phone’s reported features and price as leaks, not as confirmed product details.
What is known about the reported cancellation?
Reports published on October 5 and 6, 2026 say the Xiaomi 18 Ultra was removed from the launch calendar. Both Android Authority and GSMArena attribute the claim to DCS. Neither report cites an announcement from Xiaomi confirming a cancellation; GSMArena says the leaker’s original post was no longer accessible when it published its account.

Android Authority also reports that Xiaomi allegedly considered the planned price too high and sales unsustainable. That is a reported rationale attributed to the leak, not an explanation from Xiaomi. No verified verbatim statement from a Xiaomi representative is cited in the reports.
What were the rumored Xiaomi 18 Ultra specifications?
The reports describe a proposed phone, not a released or tested device. The camera setup would have been the headline feature: three 200-megapixel rear cameras, according to the leak.

Other reported hardware
Android Authority describes a flagship chipset, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It also reports a benchmark score above 500 million, but does not identify the benchmark in its account. The score therefore cannot be reliably matched to a particular test or used to infer a chipset. GSMArena additionally describes a flat display with approximately 1mm bezels and symmetric stereo speakers. None of these details is confirmed Xiaomi hardware.

How much was the Xiaomi 18 Ultra rumored to cost?
The reported China price was CNY 9,999, which Android Authority converted to about US$1,490. GSMArena rounded the leak to CNY 10,000 for a 12GB/256GB configuration. These are two presentations of a leaked proposed price, not an official retail price. The dollar conversion is not a confirmed US price.
For context, Xiaomi’s March 2026 investor presentation gives the released Xiaomi 17 Ultra a starting price of CNY 6,999 in China and EUR 1,499 overseas, as summarized by iTechGuides. Those figures cover different regions and do not establish a like-for-like configuration comparison with the rumored 18 Ultra. Xiaomi’s presentation also reports nearly 30% year-over-year growth in first-month sales for the Xiaomi 17 Series compared with the Xiaomi 15 Series; that company-wide series figure does not prove or explain the alleged 18 Ultra cancellation.

What can buyers consider instead?
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a real released comparison point, unlike the unconfirmed 18 Ultra concept. Xiaomi’s investor presentation documents the 17 Series as unveiled in September 2025 and identifies its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform. The March 2026 presentation, as summarized by iTechGuides, describes the 17 Ultra with a one-inch ultra-dynamic LOFIC HDR main camera and a 200MP telephoto offering 75–100mm mechanical optical zoom. Regional listings, configurations, prices and availability can differ, so check the current Xiaomi listing for the intended market before making a purchase decision. Xiaomi’s investor presentation provides the company’s product context.

What the reports do—and do not—establish
- Reported: DCS allegedly said the Xiaomi 18 Ultra was off the launch calendar.
- Not confirmed: Xiaomi has not been shown announcing the cancellation in the cited reporting.
- Leaked, not verified: the camera array, remaining hardware and proposed price.
- Separate real product: Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a released model and should not be confused with the rumored 18 Ultra.
