The Xiaomi 165W Power Bank 10000mAh (model PB1165M) is a compact, fast-charging travel battery with a built-in USB-C cable, but its 165W headline is a combined maximum—not the speed every connected device will receive. It makes the most sense for travelers who value quick top-ups and fewer loose cables over maximum capacity, a longer cable, or a simpler display.
What the Xiaomi 165W rating means
Xiaomi specifies up to 165W of combined output: up to 120W through the integrated USB-C cable and up to 45W through the second USB-C port. Xiaomi says the 165W maximum depends on its laboratory test method. It is a ceiling for the power bank’s combined output, not a promise that one phone will charge at 165W. Actual speed depends on the device and whether it supports a compatible charging profile. Xiaomi’s official specifications list the product as model PB1165M.

In practice, the built-in cable can charge one device while the second USB-C port serves another. When both are in use, the advertised 165W is the combined maximum across those outputs; it should not be read as 165W for each device.
How much capacity does it have, and how many phone charges is that?
The product is marketed as 10000mAh, while Xiaomi’s German specifications give its battery energy as 36Wh and its nominal delivered capacity as 5500mAh at 5V/4A. These figures describe capacity in different ways: 10000mAh refers to the battery’s rated capacity, while the 5500mAh figure is the nominal output capacity at the stated voltage and current. They are not directly interchangeable.

There is no reliable universal phone-charge count. The result varies with the phone’s battery size, conversion losses, charging conditions, and how much power the phone uses while connected. HardwareZone reviewer Cheryl Tan estimated that the bank could charge a large phone roughly twice, but that is a reviewer estimate, not a guaranteed result for every phone. HardwareZone’s review also found the 10000mAh capacity useful for quick top-ups while questioning whether it would be enough for every traveler.
How quickly does it charge real devices?
Independent results show why device-specific expectations matter. Business Insider Japan reviewer Fumihiko Sato reported charging a Xiaomi 14T Pro from zero to full in about 35 minutes and an iPhone 15 Pro in around 90 minutes. HardwareZone reviewer Cheryl Tan reported 68 minutes for a Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Those are individual review results for specific phones and conditions, not a general performance guarantee.

HardwareZone also tested a MacBook Pro M2 on a plane and reported about 30 minutes of additional play time. That illustrates emergency top-up usefulness, not a replacement for a laptop charger or a promise of a particular laptop charging rate.

Business Insider Japan reviewer Fumihiko Sato noted that the cable can pop out of its storage recess. HardwareZone describes it as 15cm and says it can feel short in use, so placement matters if you want to use a phone while it charges.

The unit measures 143 × 48 × 36mm. Its reported weight varies slightly by source: Business Insider Japan gives 315g, while HardwareZone gives 316g. Sato found it thick and relatively heavy compared with same-capacity banks; Tan found it relatively light beside a much larger-capacity model. The comparison changes with what you carry it against, but this is not an especially slim option for its capacity.

These estimates require a compatible charger and charging conditions. A high-wattage adapter is not automatically suitable for the one-hour estimate; check that it supports the required output profile. Xiaomi’s user guide provides the stated timings.

What are the main drawbacks?
- Limited capacity for longer trips: 10000mAh favors portability and top-ups over carrying a large reserve. Whether it lasts through a day depends on your devices and usage.
- Short integrated cable: At 15cm according to HardwareZone, it reduces packing but may constrain where you hold or place a connected phone.
- Display usability: Tan describes the display as odd. Her verdict was: “Even if you don’t have a Xiaomi gadget with 120W charging, this is an excellent budget buy. Just pretend that you can’t read its display.” That is her opinion, not a universal assessment.
- Fast charging is conditional: A device needs compatible charging support to benefit from the bank’s higher output; the maximum rating alone does not establish its charging speed.
What did it cost in the reviewed markets?
The available price reports are dated regional snapshots, not current offers. HardwareZone reported an official Singapore price of S$52 on June 19, 2025. Business Insider Japan listed ¥5,480 on May 16, 2025. Neither figure establishes today’s price, availability, or price in another country.
Who should buy the Xiaomi 165W Power Bank?
It is a good fit if you want a built-in cable, fast charging for compatible devices, and the option to connect a second device without carrying a large-capacity battery. It is less compelling if your priority is the most energy in your bag, a longer cable, or a particularly clear display. For travel, treat it as a quick-top-up companion rather than a universal high-speed charger or a laptop power solution.
