XGIMI MoGo 4 vs. MoGo 3 Pro: Which Portable Projector Should You Buy?

Buy the XGIMI MoGo 4 if you want genuinely cable-free projection. Its built-in 71.28Wh battery, 360-degree adjustable stand, higher-rated speakers and larger storage make it the more self-contained portable projector. Choose the MoGo 3 Pro if you value a lighter design and more automated framing, can provide USB-C power, and find it at a worthwhile live price. Both deliver the same headline picture specification—1920×1080 resolution and a 450 ISO-lumen manufacturer rating—plus Google TV and licensed Netflix, so neither has a published advantage in basic image resolution or rated brightness.

The figures below come from XGIMI’s product specifications and March 2026 comparison guide, not independent laboratory testing. Brightness in a room, battery life and sound quality can vary with settings and conditions.

Quick answer: MoGo 4 for independence, MoGo 3 Pro for assisted setup

The practical choice is straightforward:

  • Choose MoGo 4 for camping, patios, travel or any location where finding an outlet is inconvenient. The battery is integrated, the stand rotates through a full circle, and the projector carries twice the listed internal storage of the MoGo 3 Pro.
  • Choose MoGo 3 Pro for rooms where you normally have power and want XGIMI’s ISA 2.0 intelligent screen alignment and obstacle avoidance. It is the lighter model, but its USB-C power requirement means a separate power source for off-grid use.
  • Do not choose based on brightness or resolution alone. XGIMI rates both at 450 ISO lumens and 1920×1080 pixels. Those are manufacturer figures, not a guarantee of equal-looking images in a bright room.

Prices and stock change by region. XGIMI’s March 2026 UK guide listed £509 MSRP for MoGo 4 and £499 for MoGo 3 Pro. When the US pages were accessed, MoGo 4 displayed $479 and the MoGo 3 Pro page displayed $379 with an unavailable status. Treat those as page values at that time, not guaranteed current prices or like-for-like street prices.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Picture quality: a published tie, not a promise of identical room performance

Both are 1080p projectors

Each model uses a 1920×1080 pixel output. That is enough detail for films, television and games without the softness associated with lower-resolution portable projectors. Your source still matters: a low-bitrate stream, poor wireless connection or heavily compressed video can look soft even when the projector itself is Full HD.

Both carry a 450 ISO-lumen rating

XGIMI lists 450 ISO lumens for both models. ISO-lumen figures are manufacturer ratings; they are not an independent measurement of how bright either projector will look on your wall. In practical terms, a dark room, a smaller image and a neutral screen will make the picture easier to see than a large image in daylight. Do not infer that one model is brighter because it costs more or has a larger battery.

Interpreting the advertised image size

XGIMI’s detailed specifications describe image sizes up to 200 inches for both projectors, while some marketing copy emphasizes up to 120 inches. The larger figure is a maximum capability, not a recommendation that every room can produce a bright, high-contrast 200-inch picture. As the image grows, the available light is spread over more area. Measure your wall, control ambient light and use XGIMI’s calculator before planning around the maximum size.

Battery and external power

Why the MoGo 4 is the easier outdoor projector

MoGo 4 is the only model in this comparison with an integrated battery. XGIMI specifies a 71.28Wh pack and states a maximum of 2.5 hours of video playback in Eco Mode. The same guide gives a maximum of six hours for music playback. Those are manufacturer estimates rather than independent measurements, and the company notes that actual duration changes with brightness, settings, software and environment.

Because the battery is inside the projector, a movie session does not require a separate power bank, cable run or compatibility check. You can still carry a charger for recharging between sessions, but the projector itself is ready to operate away from an outlet.

What MoGo 3 Pro requires

MoGo 3 Pro has no built-in battery. XGIMI describes USB-C external-power operation and specifically discusses a 65W power bank. For travel, budget space and weight for a suitable power source, a USB-C cable and the power bank’s own recharge time. A phone-sized battery may not provide the required output or sustained capacity, so check the bank’s wattage specification rather than relying on its milliamp-hour label alone.

  • 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

This arrangement can still work well in a hotel, office or living room where a wall outlet is nearby. It also lets you replace the external battery independently, whereas the MoGo 4’s runtime depends on its internal pack and the projector’s charging cycle.

Placement and automated setup

MoGo 4: maximum stand rotation

The MoGo 4 stand adjusts through 360 degrees. That full rotation makes it easier to aim at a wall, ceiling or screen without lifting the projector onto a stack of books. Once it is pointed at the target, its automatic focus and keystone correction help produce a usable rectangle.

XGIMI’s comparison does not list intelligent screen alignment or obstacle avoidance for MoGo 4. If part of the wall is blocked by a picture frame or another object, expect to reposition the projector yourself rather than rely on the software to find a clear area.

MoGo 3 Pro: ISA 2.0 assistance

MoGo 3 Pro includes ISA 2.0, which XGIMI describes as intelligent screen alignment and obstacle avoidance, along with automatic focus and keystone correction. These features are useful when the projector is placed off-center or when furniture interrupts the projected area. The system can adjust the projected image to fit the available surface instead of requiring as much manual repositioning.

Automatic correction is digital image processing, not optical zoom. Keystone and alignment can reduce the usable image area or alter how many pixels contribute to the final rectangle. For the cleanest possible picture, place either projector as square to the screen as your room allows, then use automation for final adjustment.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choosing between 360-degree rotation and ISA 2.0

  • Pick the MoGo 4’s stand when your priority is physically pointing the projector in any direction, including upward for ceiling viewing.
  • Pick MoGo 3 Pro when furniture, angled walls or temporary setups make automatic obstacle avoidance more valuable than full rotation.
  • For a permanent screen, manual alignment and a level surface may matter more than either feature.

Sound and storage

Rated speaker output

MoGo 4 uses dual 6W Harman/Kardon speakers, while MoGo 3 Pro uses dual 5W units. The higher wattage gives MoGo 4 more rated output headroom, but it does not establish subjective sound quality, bass response or maximum undistorted volume. Room acoustics and placement can matter as much as the specification. Both can be connected to external audio equipment when built-in speakers are not sufficient.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

Internal storage for apps and downloads

MoGo 4 lists 32GB of internal storage; MoGo 3 Pro lists 16GB. The extra capacity is useful for installing more apps and retaining downloaded content where an app supports offline viewing. Available space will be lower than the headline capacity because the operating system and preinstalled software occupy part of it. Storage does not improve streaming resolution or brightness.

Google TV and Netflix

Both projectors run Google TV and offer licensed Netflix according to XGIMI’s product pages and series information. Streaming access therefore does not separate these two models on the reviewed specifications. You will still need internet access for most streaming services, and service availability can vary by country, account and app policy.

For travel, test sign-in and playback before leaving home. Save offline content only where the relevant service allows it, and remember that downloaded titles remain subject to the service’s expiration and device rules. If you use a streaming stick or game console instead, verify the projector’s available inputs and carry the appropriate cable.

Price, availability and value

How to read the listed prices

The UK comparison guide dated March 2026 lists £509 MSRP for MoGo 4 and £499 MSRP for MoGo 3 Pro—a £10 difference at the manufacturer’s stated regional pricing. The US MoGo 4 page displayed $479 when accessed. The US MoGo 3 Pro page displayed $379 and marked the product unavailable at that time. These figures are not a controlled retail comparison: currencies, taxes, promotions, shipping and stock differ by region.

Check the live product page and authorized retailers in your country before buying. If MoGo 3 Pro is unavailable or its street price approaches MoGo 4 pricing, the integrated battery and larger storage make MoGo 4’s premium easier to justify. If MoGo 3 Pro is substantially cheaper and you already own a capable 65W USB-C power bank, its setup automation may offer better value for indoor use.

Which projector fits your use case?

Choose MoGo 4 for outdoor movies and travel

MoGo 4 is the better match for locations without dependable mains power. The built-in battery removes a separate power-bank purchase, and the full-rotation stand simplifies aiming at unusual surfaces. Its higher-rated speakers and 32GB storage are useful secondary advantages when you are carrying fewer accessories.

Choose MoGo 3 Pro for assisted framing

MoGo 3 Pro is compelling when ISA 2.0’s screen alignment and obstacle avoidance solve a real placement problem. It is also the lighter body of the two models according to XGIMI’s positioning, making it attractive for users who normally project near an outlet and value easier carrying over integrated power.

Choose neither on brightness alone

Since both carry the same 450 ISO-lumen rating and 1080p resolution, room conditions should guide your decision. For daytime viewing or a very large image, improving blackout curtains, screen choice and placement may have a greater effect than switching between these models. Neither specification is an independent bright-room performance test.

Setup checklist for the first viewing

  1. Measure the surface. Confirm that your wall or screen can accommodate the intended image size. Treat 200 inches as a maximum specification, not an automatic recommendation.
  2. Place the projector near square to the surface. Minimize horizontal and vertical angle before enabling digital correction.
  3. Provide power. For MoGo 4, charge the internal battery before an off-grid session. For MoGo 3 Pro, use mains power or a USB-C source capable of the manufacturer-described 65W power-bank use.
  4. Connect to Wi-Fi and sign in to Google TV. Install updates and the streaming apps you need while you still have a reliable connection.
  5. Run focus and alignment. Let automatic focus and keystone complete, then inspect text around the edges. On MoGo 3 Pro, check that ISA 2.0 has not cropped an object or reduced the usable image more than you prefer.
  6. Set an appropriate picture mode. Eco Mode extends MoGo 4’s stated video runtime, while a brighter mode consumes more energy. Choose based on room darkness and remaining battery rather than leaving maximum brightness enabled by default.
  7. Check audio before the film starts. Confirm the built-in speakers or pair your external audio system, then test volume at the seating position.

Common pitfalls and fixes

Expecting the rated brightness to equal daylight visibility

ISO lumens are standardized manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee that a 450-lumen projector will overcome direct sunlight. Close curtains, reduce nearby lamps and reduce image size when contrast is poor.

Planning a full movie around the maximum runtime

MoGo 4’s 2.5-hour figure is a maximum in Eco Mode. Higher brightness, wireless activity, software tasks and temperature can shorten a session. Start with a full charge and keep the charger available for long events.

Assuming USB-C means any charger will work

MoGo 3 Pro’s external-power design depends on a source capable of the required output. Check the power bank’s USB-C Power Delivery rating and cable specification before travel; a low-output bank may fail to start the projector or may shut down under load.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Treating keystone as optical zoom

Automatic keystone and intelligent alignment reshape the digital image. They do not move the lens or create additional optical brightness. Use the stand and physical placement first, then apply only the correction you need.

Buying from an unavailable listing

Manufacturer pages can show regional stock states that change quickly. Confirm that the exact model is available for delivery to your address and that the listed price includes the taxes and shipping that apply in your market.

Final buying decision

For most readers seeking a self-contained portable projector, buy the XGIMI MoGo 4. It combines the same 1080p, 450 ISO-lumen picture rating as MoGo 3 Pro with an integrated 71.28Wh battery, full-rotation stand, higher-rated speakers and 32GB storage. Buy the MoGo 3 Pro instead when ISA 2.0 alignment and obstacle avoidance solve your placement constraints, you prefer its lighter body, and you have reliable external USB-C power at a price that clearly undercuts MoGo 4.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the MoGo 3 Pro run from a USB-C power bank?

Yes. XGIMI describes 65W power-bank use for MoGo 3 Pro. Verify the bank’s USB-C output and cable capability before relying on it for a portable session.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Does a 200-inch image look equally bright on both models?

The 200-inch figure is a manufacturer maximum, not a promise of the same perceived brightness or contrast in every room. Larger images spread the available light over more area, so dark conditions and careful placement are important.

Are the 450 ISO-lumen ratings independent measurements?

No. They are XGIMI’s published specifications. They should not be treated as an independent laboratory assessment of bright-room performance.
