XGIMI has announced two U.S.-market models in its AURA 3 Series: the AURA 3 Max and AURA 3 Pro. The company says both are 4K UHD, 4K 120Hz RGB triple-laser ultra-short-throw projectors. XGIMI’s reservation page describes a $50 refundable deposit ahead of a Kickstarter campaign scheduled to begin October 20, 2026, with shipping expected to start in December. These are company-published specifications and plans, not independently verified performance or confirmation of ordinary retail availability.
What are the AURA 3 Max and AURA 3 Pro?
They are two announced ultra-short-throw (UST) projector models for the U.S. market. XGIMI positions them as laser-based alternatives for large-screen viewing without placing a projector at the back of a room. The company’s September 2026 announcement describes the series as 4K UHD and 4K 120Hz, with RGB triple-laser projection. XGIMI’s announcement and its September 1 press release provide the company’s published details.

Which model might suit your room?
XGIMI’s positioning makes the Max the brighter option for larger rooms, bigger screens, or brighter viewing conditions. The Pro has lower stated brightness and contrast, while retaining the shared platform and carrying a lower listed super early-bird price. This is the manufacturer’s guidance, not an independent comparative test.
When weighing them, consider the screen size, how much ambient light the room receives, and how you expect to use the projector. XGIMI’s Max-versus-Pro guide also points buyers to room brightness, screen size, and usage as decision factors.

How close to the wall does an AURA 3 sit?
XGIMI gives the series a 0.163:1 throw ratio and says it can project an image up to 200 inches. Its press release says a 120-inch image requires approximately 8 inches of distance. Those figures describe the manufacturer’s stated projection setup; actual placement depends on the installation and screen geometry.
