On October 15, 2026, Concordium announced that XDC Network had selected it as the exclusive identity-verification layer for XDC AI, an agent-payments marketplace. The integration lets each verified agent display a “Verified by Concordium” badge while keeping its owner’s identity out of ordinary on-chain data.
XDC AI launched in July 2026 with non-custodial agent wallets, service discovery and USDC payments through the x402 standard. Concordium adds a verifiable owner relationship to those payment capabilities, addressing the question of who is accountable when software acts autonomously.

What XDC Network and Concordium announced
Concordium describes this as its first full-network integration. Every agent registered on XDC AI can carry a badge showing that a verified person or business stands behind it. Buyers can check that status independently rather than relying on an owner’s claim or a platform statement.

How the two systems fit together

Payment proves that a wallet can send funds; it does not by itself identify who controls the software. The partnership combines those functions without publishing the owner’s personal records.
How an owner links a verified identity to an agent wallet
- Complete identity verification. The owner uses Concordium Wallet, presents a passport and completes a liveness check conducted by an independent identity provider.
- Link the wallets. The owner connects the XDC wallet to the identity-backed Concordium account with two signatures. The signatures authorize the relationship and move no funds.
- Register the agent. The agent is added to the applicable registry with the owner key and XDC smart-wallet information.
- Receive the badge. Concordium issues the “Verified by Concordium” status after the registration is established.
- Allow counterparties to check it. A buyer or service provider can inspect the registration on chain without asking XDC Network, Concordium or the owner for permission.
The documented relationship has two legs: a Concordium account is identity-backed by an identity provider, while an owner key signs for the XDC smart wallet. The XDC wallet is then checked against the registered key.

What the badge proves—and what it does not
The badge’s claim is accountability: a verified person or business exists behind the agent. That can help a counterparty decide whether to let an agent place an order, settle an invoice or transact with money.
- It does confirm that an accountable owner has completed the stated identity process.
- It does not mean Concordium audited the agent’s code.
- It does not approve the agent’s business model, use case or transactions.
- It does not endorse the agent’s future behavior or guarantee that the owner will meet a contract.
Organizations still need their own controls for permissions, spending limits, code security and dispute handling.

What personal information is visible
The owner’s name, passport number, photograph, date of birth and passport data are not stored on chain and are not sent to XDC AI. The public record contains account and credential state rather than a person’s identity.
That privacy is not the same as permanent impossibility of identification. XDC AI documentation says an anonymity revoker could identify the credential holder through legal process. Concordium’s announcement says disclosure requires a court order and coordinated action by independent Privacy Guardians; a platform or counterparty cannot request disclosure directly, and no single party can do it alone.

Technical standards and supported networks
The integration documentation lists Concordium ID, the CIS-8 External Key Registry, the CIS-8004 Agent Registry, the Verified by Concordium badge and sponsored transactions. It documents Concordium Mainnet and XDC Network identified as eip155:50. The integration page was last reviewed in October 2026.

Because the owner relationship is attached to the agent’s existing XDC wallet, builders do not need to replace the wallet model described for XDC AI. The documented flow uses signatures to prove control rather than transferring assets during registration.
Why this matters for institutional transactions
An autonomous agent may discover a supplier, purchase a service or settle an invoice with an organization that has never met its owner. A wallet address alone offers little accountability if something goes wrong. A verifiable owner relationship gives the counterparty an additional basis for deciding what authority to grant.
Atul Khekade, co-founder of XDC Network, said: “Agents on XDC AI can already discover services and pay for them in USDC. What institutions need next is to know who stands behind an agent before they trust it with real money. Concordium gives every verified agent an accountable owner without putting anyone’s personal data on-chain, so builders on XDC earn trust from their very first transaction.”
Availability, pricing and partner terms
Verification is described as live at the announced XDC AI endpoint, and developer documentation is available. The announcement does not publish a user-facing verification price, recurring fee, transaction estimate or service-level commitment.

No commission rate, referral URL, cookie period or affiliate-registration process has been published, so any offer claiming specific partner economics should be treated as unverified until XDC or Concordium releases formal terms.
Checks to perform before trusting a verified agent
- Open the agent’s on-chain registration and confirm that the badge is current.
- Check that the wallet interacting with you matches the registered owner key and agent record.
- Verify the agent’s spending permissions, contract addresses and settlement limits separately.
- Remember that identity verification does not audit code or guarantee performance.
- Keep records of the registration state and transaction details if the agent will handle business funds.
The integration therefore supplies an accountability signal, not a complete trust decision: XDC AI handles the agent’s wallet and payments, while Concordium supplies the identity-backed owner link and privacy-preserving verification.
