Yes. World War Z: Aftermath supports cross-play between PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S, so players on those platforms can team up. A co-op group can have up to four players. Nintendo Switch is not part of that cross-play group.
Which platforms can play together?
Saber Interactive’s support FAQ lists PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S as supporting cross-play. Focus Entertainment likewise describes Aftermath as offering four-player cross-play between consoles and PC, including Steam and Epic Games Store.

| Platform | Cross-play with PC, PlayStation, and Xbox? |
|---|---|
| PC | Yes; the supported group includes PC. |
| PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 | Yes. |
| Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S | Yes. |
| Nintendo Switch | No. Saber says Switch has no cross-play with other platforms. |
The FAQ also lists PC availability through Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, as well as Amazon Luna. Its cross-play answer names PC, PlayStation, and Xbox; it does not include Luna in that supported group. Do not assume Luna cross-play based on this information.
Switch is a separate case
The original World War Z is available on Nintendo Switch, but Switch players cannot join PC, PlayStation, or Xbox players. Saber describes local play on Switch as separate play with other Switch consoles. If cross-platform co-op is the reason you are choosing a version, confirm the platform and edition before buying: Aftermath is the cross-play edition described by Focus, while Switch has the stated cross-play limitation.

How to join a friend on another platform
Players report joining through the party screen’s cross-play invite code: share the code displayed in an open party slot, then have your friend enter it in their party interface. This is community-reported guidance, not a procedure documented in Saber’s official FAQ, so the exact labels or steps may differ by platform or game version.
If you cannot find the code prompt or it does not work, check the current party-screen instructions in your game and confirm that both players are on a supported platform. For help beyond those prompts, consult Saber’s support FAQ.

How many friends can join?
Aftermath supports up to four players in co-op, so one player can host a group with up to three friends. Focus Entertainment states that this four-player co-op supports cross-play between consoles and PC, including Steam and Epic Games Store: Focus Entertainment’s game page.
Do you need a console subscription to play online?
Saber’s FAQ says online play on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch requires the applicable platform subscription: PlayStation Plus, Xbox Live, or Nintendo Switch Online, respectively. The same FAQ says missions and solo modes are available without that subscription. It does not state a comparable subscription requirement for PC.

Does cross-play also sync your progress?
No. Saber says Aftermath does not support cross-progression, so progress does not continuously sync between platforms. The FAQ says a one-time save transfer is possible using PROS; that is a transfer option, not ongoing cross-platform syncing. See Saber’s cross-progression FAQ.

If you want to play with friends on different systems, choose World War Z: Aftermath on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox. Saber lists Aftermath as available digitally and physically; availability depends on platform and seller. Check Saber’s platform and edition information before purchasing. The Switch version is not a substitute for cross-play with those platforms.
