Choose the Woojer Vest 4 for gaming or VR while sitting, standing, or moving; choose the Woojer MAT for lying-down relaxation sessions. They serve different positions and routines, and both turn compatible audio into tactile sensation. Neither should be treated as a proven therapy, and the vest should not be assumed to provide precise, game-specific positional cues.

How the haptics work—and what they do not promise
Both products translate audio into vibration-like tactile sensation. They can work with compatible audio sources without special game integration, according to Woojer. That makes the Vest 4 a way to feel audio through your torso while playing, but it does not by itself mean the vest knows where an enemy or object is in a game. Do not assume event-by-event or directional feedback unless your specific game, device, and connection support it.

Before buying for a particular console, computer, phone, or VR system, verify that your audio output and preferred connection method work with the setup. Woojer lists Bluetooth, USB-C digital audio, and 3.5 mm input for both products; the Vest 4 page also lists independent audio and haptic controls.
#1 Best Overall

- Low-Latency Wireless Freedom: High-speed wireless connectivity ensures lag-free tactile response and total freedom of movement without restrictive cables during intense gaming sessions.
- Intuitive Front Controller: Convenient on-device front controls allow you to power on/off, pause feedback, and manage core settings instantly without breaking immersion.
- Extensive Cross-Platform Library: Native compatibility with over 300 flat-screen and VR titles, bringing real-time recoil, ambient vibrations, and positional impacts directly to the player.
- Audio-to-Haptics & Ergonomic Fit: Converts sound from movies, music, and non-native games into dynamic vibrations, paired with breathable mesh and adjustable straps for long-session comfort.
Why the Vest 4 suits gaming and VR
The Vest 4 is the more practical choice if you want haptics while seated at a desk, on a couch, standing, or using compatible VR equipment. It stays on your torso instead of requiring you to lie on a particular surface, and Woojer lists six haptic zones, a 1–250 Hz haptic range, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C digital audio, 3.5 mm audio input, and up to 10 hours of battery life. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance measurements.
Its wearable design also makes the vest more adaptable to media use or an upright relaxation routine. Comfort is personal: consider how it fits over your clothing and whether wearing a powered garment for a full session suits you. Confirm compatibility for your exact device and audio-routing arrangement rather than assuming every console or VR setup behaves identically.

Why the MAT suits lying-down sessions
The MAT is designed for a different posture: place it on a bed, sofa, or other yielding surface and lie on it for a wellness session. Woojer lists six Osci zones, dimensions of 190 × 76 cm, a thickness of 38 mm, and a foldable design. It connects through Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C digital audio, or 3.5 mm, and the standard MAT runs from the included 100 W adapter.

Surface choice is important. Woojer says the standard MAT works on a soft, yielding surface and advises against placing it directly on a bare hard floor. The power adapter means it is less convenient for untethered use than a battery-powered wearable. Woojer describes an optional power bank, sold separately, as providing up to eight hours; treat that as the manufacturer’s stated maximum, not a guaranteed session time.

The MAT may make more sense if your routine is meditation, winding down, or a short recovery session while lying down. But it takes up the surface while in use. In a T3 hands-on review, Lucy Miller reported feeling calmer and more relaxed during a short trial, yet found the product expensive and said it was not a true mattress topper—particularly relevant for a shared bed. That is one reviewer’s subjective experience, not proof that other users will feel the same way.
What the evidence says about relaxation and health
Woojer markets the MAT for relaxation, winding down, meditation, and recovery, while explicitly describing it as a consumer wellness product rather than a medical device. The manufacturer says it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a medical condition. The available evidence does not establish that the consumer MAT or Vest 4 reliably improves relaxation, sleep, pain, or recovery in ordinary use.

Woojer’s science overview summarizes a 2025 study in the Journal of Anxiety Disorders: 128 participants were divided into four groups in a breath-focused mindfulness protocol, and Woojer says only the group receiving vibration synchronized to breathing showed steadier breathing across visits. That reported result concerns a specific protocol and a measured breathing outcome; it does not show that the MAT treats anxiety or improves sleep.
The same overview summarizes a 2022 BMJ Open scoping review of 20 adult pain studies, describing the studies as heterogeneous and noting the need for larger controlled trials. It also summarizes a 2026 BMJ Open immersive training simulation where the haptic contribution received a median rating of 7 out of 7 (IQR 6–7). That is a participant rating in a training simulation, not a consumer relaxation or treatment result. These summaries are on Woojer’s science page; they should not be read as clinical proof for either product.

Safety and practical checks before using the MAT
Woojer’s MAT FAQ warns against use by people with a pacemaker or another electronic or mechanical device implanted or attached to support the body, or with a defibrillator. It also advises consulting a physician for certain health concerns and stopping if pain, dizziness, or an unusual sensation occurs. Read the current manual for your model and follow its guidance; if you have a relevant medical device or health concern, ask a clinician before use.
Quick Recap
- For gaming or VR, confirm compatibility with your exact platform and audio connection.
- For the MAT, make sure you have a suitable soft surface and access to the required power arrangement.
- Decide whether a wearable garment or a mat that occupies a shared surface better fits your routine.
- Judge relaxation claims as intended-use descriptions and individual impressions, not guarantees of health benefits.
