What changed with the Switch release?
Telltale moved the Nintendo Switch edition from its previously announced October 29, 2026 date to “a later date.” The company has not supplied a replacement date. Its October 16 statement says an updated Switch date will be shared when available.

Why was Wolf Among Us Remastered delayed on Switch?
Telltale has given a quality-focused explanation, not a technical one. The complete statement from The Wolf Among Us Team on October 16, 2026 says:
“Bringing The Wolf Among Us to Nintendo Switch for the very first time is an exciting moment for us! We don’t take this lightly. With that in mind, we’re taking some additional time to ensure we deliver the experience Nintendo players deserve.”

“The Wolf Among Us Remastered will launch as planned on October 29 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The Nintendo Switch version will follow at a later date.”
Telltale has not identified a specific cause such as Nintendo certification, frame-rate problems, bugs, optimization work or a hardware limitation. Those explanations should not be treated as confirmed. The only established reason is that the studio wants more time before releasing the Switch version.

Is the Switch 2 version delayed too?
The platform wording is unresolved. Telltale’s June announcement named both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The October delay notice refers only to “Nintendo Switch” and does not provide a Switch 2 date or clarify whether the delayed product covers both systems.

Until Telltale publishes a platform-specific update, do not assume that a Switch 2 edition has the October 29 date, the later undated Switch date, or a separate release schedule.

What does the remaster include?
The remaster contains all five original episodes:
- Faith
- Smoke and Mirrors
- A Crooked Mile
- In Sheep’s Clothing
- Cry Wolf
Telltale describes upgrades to lighting, animation, environments, audio, resolution, frame rate, interface and accessibility features. The package also adds Noir Mode, which presents the complete game in a black-and-white detective-film style.
Bonus material includes more than an hour of behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries and deleted scenes. Telltale has not published a platform-by-platform feature matrix, so feature differences between Switch, Switch 2, PC, PlayStation and Xbox should not be assumed.

No published announcement establishes different story content or remaster features among these versions. The practical difference is release timing, hardware and whether you want a digital copy now or a future physical edition.

Telltale has announced physical editions that are expected to follow in Q1 2027. It has not published a retailer, price, SKU, territory, pre-order date or a definitive list of supported Nintendo systems.

If you search for a copy, verify the live listing carefully. Check whether it identifies Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 or both, and confirm the region and release date before ordering. A Q1 2027 physical window is a plan, not a firm street date.
How the delay relates to The Wolf Among Us 2
Telltale and PM Studios have announced The Wolf Among Us 2 for 2027. That sequel is a separate project, and the available announcements do not connect its schedule to the remaster’s Switch delay. Telltale’s 2019 release record also noted the return of AdHoc Studio and key original creative talent for the sequel.
