1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor the clearest documented Livewire setup, Pikaday has the edge: Livewire 3.x shows how to load its assets once and initialize it inside a component. Wirepicker is listed as a Laravel, Livewire, and Alpine date/date-range package with stated version requirements. Flatpickr has a Laravel Blade wrapper, but the available description does not establish that the wrapper currently supports Livewire. These are differences in the available integration evidence—not a tested verdict on features, accessibility, performance, or ongoing maintenance.
How the three options compare for Livewire
| Option | What is documented | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Wirepicker | Packagist describes it as a framework-agnostic date and date-range package for Laravel, Livewire, and Alpine. The listing reports PHP >=8.2 and illuminate/support and illuminate/view >=11.0; Livewire is listed as a suggested dependency. The publisher also describes pure-CSS styling, Intl localization, and zero runtime dependencies. Packagist package listing |
Check those requirements against the application’s locked dependencies and confirm how selection updates the Livewire-bound input. The listing’s claims are publisher metadata, not independent test results. |
| Flatpickr | A Laravel wrapper, asdh/laravel-flatpickr, is described as a Blade component with Composer installation and explicit CSS/JavaScript includes. Its examples mention locale and date bounds. Wrapper repository |
The wrapper description does not establish current release status or Livewire compatibility. Evaluate the wrapper separately from using Flatpickr directly, and check its present requirements and lifecycle guidance. |
| Pikaday | Livewire 3.x documents loading Pikaday’s JavaScript and CSS in @assets, then initializing it from @script against an input scoped to the component. Livewire 3.x Pikaday integration example |
The example is a starting pattern, not automatic handling for every component lifecycle, nested component, navigation mode, or model modifier. Confirm event behavior and cleanup for the version and app in use. |
The comparison is about what the cited material establishes. It does not demonstrate that one picker is faster, more accessible, better maintained, or richer in features than the others.
How to use a date picker with Laravel Livewire
Livewire 3.x’s Pikaday example provides a practical pattern: place a text input inside the component, load the picker assets once, and initialize the picker against that component’s own input. Using a component-scoped selector avoids relying on a page-global input selector, which is especially useful when a page has more than one component instance.
- Render an input in the component. Bind it to the Livewire property that should receive the selected date.
- Load the picker assets with
@assets. Livewire’s documentation says these assets are included once per page. - Initialize the picker with
@script. In the documented Pikaday pattern, find the input inside the current component using$wire.$el, rather than selecting an input globally. Livewire runs the component script when that component instance initializes. - Test the full lifecycle. Confirm the picker works after the component initializes and after any updates or navigation behavior the application uses. The example does not establish that every lifecycle case is handled automatically.
See the Livewire 3.x JavaScript and asset documentation for the example and the documented role of @assets and @script.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to bind a date picker to wire:model
The calendar UI and Livewire state are separate parts of the integration. When someone selects a date, the picker must update the input value and produce an event pattern that Livewire observes. Livewire 3.x documents that ordinary wire:model updates are deferred until an action; wire:model.live sends updates as they happen. Livewire 3.x wire:model documentation
That describes Livewire’s binding behavior, not the event behavior of every picker. Check the current documentation for the chosen library and version, then test that a selection reaches the intended property and that the submitted value is what the application expects. The cited material does not settle picker-specific synchronization details for Wirepicker or Flatpickr.

When to choose each option
Choose Pikaday when a documented Livewire starting point matters
Among these options, Pikaday has the explicit Livewire 3.x initialization example: one-time asset loading and component-scoped initialization. Choose it when that documented path matches the project, while still verifying state synchronization and lifecycle behavior in the actual component.
Consider Wirepicker when its stated requirements and date-range scope fit
Packagist lists Wirepicker 1.1.0, published 2026-10-02, with PHP >=8.2 and illuminate/support and illuminate/view >=11.0. It lists Livewire as a suggested dependency and describes date and date-range selection, CSS styling, and Intl localization. Those are registry and publisher claims. Confirm the package works with the project’s dependency versions and that its integration meets the application’s needs before adopting it. Wirepicker on Packagist

Consider Flatpickr with the Blade wrapper only after checking its current fit
The asdh/laravel-flatpickr repository describes a Blade component wrapper and gives setup examples for Composer, assets, locale, and date bounds. A wrapper can package Blade setup, but adds a dependency and should be assessed independently from the JavaScript picker itself. The available description does not establish that the wrapper is currently maintained or compatible with Livewire.

What to check before deciding
- Dependency compatibility: Compare the selected package’s current PHP, Laravel/Illuminate, and Livewire requirements with the application’s locked versions. The concrete minimums cited here are for Wirepicker; equivalent current requirements for the other options are not established here.
- State synchronization: Select a date and confirm both the input and Livewire property receive the expected value, using the binding mode the form needs.
- Lifecycle behavior: Check initialization, repeated component instances, updates, navigation, and cleanup against the library’s current guidance.
- Product requirements: Decide whether the form needs a single date or a range, specific localization, styling controls, or date constraints. Verify those requirements against current documentation rather than assuming feature parity.
- Adoption health: Review the repository, releases, issue activity, license, and dependency health at the time of adoption. The cited material does not support a comparative maintenance ranking.
- Accessibility and device behavior: Test keyboard use, assistive technology, and mobile behavior against the application’s needs. The cited pages do not establish a winner on these criteria.
