TCS reported the highest cited operating margin, Infosys combined positive constant-currency growth with strong reported free cash flow and deal value, and Wipro reported a constant-currency decline in IT-services revenue but solid cash conversion. To decide which share fits your thesis, normalize the period, currency, margin definition, cash-flow measure, deal scope and valuation date before comparing them.
The figures below are company-reported. They are useful for building a shortlist, not a personalized buy recommendation. FY2026 ended March 31, 2026; the latest information cutoff for this comparison is October 13, 2026 at 09:10:23 UTC.

What the FY2026 numbers actually show
Start with one accounting period, then keep each company’s definition attached to every number. Wipro’s cited revenue and margin are for IT services; TCS’s growth is annual revenue growth on its annual-report basis; and Infosys’s operating margin is adjusted. Those scopes are close enough to begin an investigation, but not to declare a precise performance ranking without reading the notes in each annual report.
| Company | FY2026 revenue and growth | Operating margin | Profit or cash measure | Large-deal TCV | Shareholder-return data |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wipro | $10.5 billion IT-services revenue; down 1.6% year on year in constant currency | 17.2% IT-services operating margin | ₹132.0 billion net income; operating cash flow equal to 112.6% of net income | $7.8 billion | EPS ₹12.6; dividend per share ₹11 |
| TCS | ₹267,021 crore revenue; 4.6% reported growth | 25.0% operating margin | ₹52,820 crore profit after tax attributable to shareholders; EPS ₹145.99 | Not stated for the FY2026 full-year figure in the cited annual-report extract | Total dividends of ₹110 per share, including interim and special dividends and a final dividend recommended subject to approval |
| Infosys | ₹178,650 crore revenue; 9.6% reported growth and 3.1% constant-currency growth | 21.0% adjusted operating margin | ₹33,097 crore free cash flow, or 112.3% of net profit | $14.9 billion | Dividend per share ₹48; completed ₹18,000 crore buyback at ₹1,800 per share |

On the cited margin measures, TCS leads at 25.0%, followed by Infosys at 21.0% adjusted and Wipro at 17.2% for IT services. That ordering is informative, but the word “adjusted,” the business perimeter and any restructuring or exceptional items can change the comparison. A difference of a few percentage points should not be treated as decisive until the underlying reconciliations are checked.
Normalize the comparison before ranking anything
Use the same fiscal period
FY2026 is the completed common year and ended March 31, 2026. Do not mix a full-year result from one company with a quarter from another. For a current-quarter comparison, wait until all three have reported the same quarter ended September 30, 2026.
Keep currency and growth definitions separate
Reported growth includes translation effects when a company reports in a different currency from the one used by an investor. Constant-currency growth attempts to remove those effects and is generally more useful for judging underlying demand. Infosys’s 9.6% reported growth becomes 3.1% in constant currency; the latter is the more comparable operating-growth figure. Wipro’s 1.6% decline is specifically constant-currency IT-services revenue. TCS’s 4.6% figure is reported annual revenue growth, so it is not a perfectly like-for-like constant-currency comparison.

Check the business perimeter
Confirm whether a metric covers consolidated revenue, an IT-services segment, continuing operations or an adjusted management measure. Also note acquisitions, divestitures and changes in segment reporting. A company can appear to grow faster simply because its perimeter changed.
Compare growth as a trend, not a single percentage
For each company, build a three- to five-year series of revenue, constant-currency growth where available, volume or bookings indicators and growth by geography and service line. Then ask what caused the latest result.
Wipro: contraction needs a recovery explanation
Wipro reported $10.5 billion of FY2026 IT-services revenue, down 1.6% year on year in constant currency. The key investment question is whether this is a temporary spending pause, loss of client work, pricing pressure, execution issue or a mix shift. Examine large-client concentration, discretionary versus mandatory work and whether newer bookings are converting into revenue.
TCS: positive reported growth, but test the base and currency
TCS reported ₹267,021 crore of FY2026 revenue and 4.6% growth. Break that result into industry verticals, regions, volume, pricing and currency. A healthy headline can conceal weakness in a major vertical or dependence on a favorable exchange rate.

Infosys: separate translation from underlying expansion
Infosys reported ₹178,650 crore of revenue, 9.6% reported growth and 3.1% constant-currency growth. The gap between those rates quantifies how much currency translation helped the reported figure. Review whether constant-currency growth came from existing accounts, new logos, acquisitions or a small number of unusually large projects.
Questions to put beside every growth figure
- Is the number reported, constant currency, organic or acquisition-inclusive?
- Which service lines and geographies contributed?
- Did client volumes rise, or did pricing and currency do most of the work?
- Is growth broad across customers, or concentrated in a few accounts?
- What does management’s order pipeline imply for the next two or three quarters?
Use operating margin to judge quality and resilience
Margin level matters, but direction and durability matter more. Plot operating margin for several years and annotate wage increases, subcontractor costs, utilization, pricing, restructuring, acquisitions and currency movements.
| Measure | Wipro | TCS | Infosys |
|---|---|---|---|
| FY2026 cited margin | 17.2% IT-services operating margin | 25.0% operating margin | 21.0% adjusted operating margin |
| Comparability caution | IT-services scope | Annual-report operating margin | Adjusted measure; reconcile to reported accounts |
A high margin can reflect premium pricing, efficient delivery and strong utilization, but it can also be temporarily boosted by lower hiring or delayed investment. Conversely, a lower margin may reflect deliberate investment in capabilities or near-term restructuring. Read the reconciliation and cash-flow statement before treating the spread as a permanent competitive advantage.
Test profits against cash and the balance sheet
Cash conversion helps identify whether accounting profit is turning into money that can fund dividends, acquisitions, debt reduction or buybacks. It is not a guarantee of future performance: working-capital releases can lift one year’s conversion, while large receivables or contract assets can reverse it.

Wipro’s reported conversion
Wipro reported ₹132.0 billion of FY2026 net income and operating cash flow equal to 112.6% of net income. Check the cash-flow statement for receivables, payables, deferred revenue and tax timing, then review cash, investments, debt and acquisition commitments.
Infosys’s free cash flow
Infosys reported ₹33,097 crore of FY2026 free cash flow, equal to 112.3% of net profit. Confirm how the company defines free cash flow, including capital expenditure and lease treatment, before comparing it with Wipro’s operating-cash-flow ratio.
TCS: do not infer an unreported like-for-like ratio
The cited TCS material supplies strong profit and margin figures but does not provide a directly comparable cash-conversion measure in this evidence set. Retrieve operating cash flow, free cash flow, cash balances, investments, debt and working-capital movements from the full statements rather than assuming that a profitable year produced the same conversion as the other two.

Balance-sheet checks
- Compare cash and liquid investments with debt and lease obligations.
- Track receivable days, contract assets and unbilled revenue.
- Look for acquisition earn-outs, restructuring payments and buyback obligations.
- Check whether free cash flow remains positive after capital expenditure.
Read deal TCV as a demand signal, not revenue
Total contract value (TCV) is the value of signed contracts under the company’s stated scope and period. It is not revenue recognized in that period. Contracts may run for several years, include pass-through costs, or be counted under definitions that differ between companies.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →| Disclosure | Period and scope | TCV |
|---|---|---|
| Wipro | FY2026 large deals | $7.8 billion |
| TCS | Q2 FY2027 quarter | $9.6 billion |
| Infosys | FY2026 large deals | $14.9 billion |
These values are not a strict leaderboard because two are full-year figures and one is a single quarter, and deal-size thresholds and inclusions may differ. For each company, examine TCV conversion, bookings by vertical, renewal rates, duration, geographic mix and the proportion of work that is discretionary. A large contract with low near-term revenue recognition may support the long-term pipeline without fixing next quarter’s growth.
Use the latest quarterly evidence carefully
At the October 13, 2026 cutoff, the three companies did not yet have a common Q2 FY2027 data set.
TCS Q2 FY2027 was available
TCS reported Q2 revenue of $7.642 billion, up 2.4% year on year in US dollars and 0.5% quarter on quarter in constant currency. Operating margin was 24.0%, net margin 19.0%, TCV $9.6 billion and annualized AI revenue $3.1 billion. International revenue grew 1.2% quarter on quarter in constant currency. These are company-reported figures from the TCS Q2 FY2027 release, not an independent forecast.
Infosys had Q1 information, not Q2 results
The available Infosys investor FAQ lists Q1 FY2027 revenue of ₹48,211 crore and net profit after non-controlling interests of ₹7,769 crore. It scheduled Q2 results for October 23, 2026.
Wipro’s Q2 release was still future
Wipro’s official results calendar scheduled Q2 FY2027 publication for October 15, 2026, after Indian market trading hours. Therefore, do not compare TCS’s Q2 figures with Wipro’s or Infosys’s Q1 figures or with FY2026 full-year totals. Update the table only after all three report the same period.
Build a valuation comparison on one price date
Operating quality does not establish that a share is cheap. The cited evidence contains no common-date share prices, share counts or current valuation multiples, so it cannot support a claim that Wipro, TCS or Infosys is the cheapest.

- Choose a date. Record each closing share price on the same trading day and state the exchange and currency.
- Use matching earnings. Calculate trailing or forward P/E using the same period and accounting basis for all three. Do not combine one company’s reported EPS with another’s adjusted EPS.
- Calculate enterprise-value measures. If you use EV to operating profit or EV to free cash flow, include cash, debt and lease treatment consistently.
- Adjust for capital actions. Update share counts for buybacks, employee grants, splits and other changes. A per-share figure can move even when total profit does not.
- Test the implied expectations. Ask what growth, margin and cash conversion the market price assumes. A higher multiple can be rational if growth and durability are higher; it can also leave less room for disappointment.
- Run scenarios. Model a base case, a slower-demand case and a margin-pressure case. Vary currency, wage inflation, utilization, pricing and deal conversion rather than changing only the terminal multiple.
Keep the valuation date visible in every table. A multiple can change materially after earnings, currency moves or a buyback, even when the annual report is unchanged.

Map the risks before choosing a thesis
Indian IT-services companies share several exposures, but the size and timing differ. Review each company’s current risk-factor filing rather than assuming identical risk.
Demand and client budgets
Economic slowdowns can delay discretionary transformation work, reduce project volumes and increase pricing pressure. Concentration in a few clients or industries can amplify the effect.
Talent, wages and utilization
Competition for engineers, wage increases, attrition and bench costs can compress margins. A company may protect delivery quality by hiring ahead of demand, which hurts near-term profitability.
Currency and geography
Revenue, costs and contracts may be denominated in different currencies. Translation can make reported growth diverge from constant-currency performance, while hedging limits but does not eliminate volatility.
Best Value
Execution, cyber and privacy
Delivery failures, outages, cybersecurity incidents or data-privacy breaches can cause remediation costs, lost contracts and regulatory action. Assess controls, insurance, customer disclosures and the concentration of critical platforms.
Acquisitions and integration
Acquisitions can add capabilities and revenue but introduce goodwill, earn-outs, integration costs and cultural or retention problems. Separate organic growth from acquired growth.
AI and technology shifts
Generative AI can create new demand while automating existing billable work. Evaluate whether the company is monetizing AI, protecting pricing, retraining staff and managing the risk that clients need fewer hours for the same output. TCS’s Q2 disclosure of $3.1 billion in annualized AI revenue is a reported indicator, not proof of future profit growth.
Regulation and geopolitics
Immigration rules, data-localization requirements, trade restrictions, elections and geopolitical shocks can alter delivery models and client spending. Infosys’s FY2026 Form 20-F lists talent competition, wage increases, demand reduction, AI and technological change, geopolitical and economic conditions, cybersecurity, privacy and foreign exchange among its risks; use that filing as an example and verify Wipro’s and TCS’s own risk sections independently.
A repeatable decision checklist
- Download the latest annual and quarterly statements from each investor-relations site.
- Write down the period, currency, segment scope and reported-versus-adjusted definition beside every metric.
- Compare multi-year constant-currency revenue growth and the most recent common quarter.
- Chart operating margin and identify wage, utilization, pricing, restructuring and acquisition effects.
- Reconcile net income to operating cash flow and free cash flow; inspect working capital and capital expenditure.
- Put TCV beside conversion data and contract duration instead of treating it as current revenue.
- Record dividends and buybacks by status: paid, completed, declared or merely recommended.
- Choose one market-price date, calculate consistent multiples and run downside scenarios.
- Read concentration, talent, currency, cyber, regulatory, geopolitical and AI risks in each filing.
- Write the investment thesis in one sentence and list the measurable facts that would disprove it.
How to interpret the three FY2026 profiles
TCS profile
The cited data show the highest operating margin at 25.0%, 4.6% FY2026 reported revenue growth and FY2026 EPS of ₹145.99. Its available Q2 FY2027 update adds 0.5% quarter-on-quarter constant-currency growth, 24.0% operating margin and $9.6 billion TCV. The next task is to test whether that profitability and demand hold across a complete common quarter and at the share price you are considering.
Infosys profile
Infosys reported 3.1% FY2026 constant-currency growth, a 21.0% adjusted operating margin, ₹33,097 crore free cash flow and $14.9 billion FY2026 large-deal TCV. Its ₹18,000 crore completed buyback and ₹48 dividend per share matter for capital allocation, while the valuation must reflect the difference between reported and adjusted measures.
Wipro profile
Wipro reported a 1.6% constant-currency decline in IT-services revenue, a 17.2% IT-services operating margin, 112.6% operating-cash-flow conversion and $7.8 billion FY2026 large-deal TCV. An investor needs evidence of renewed organic growth and durable margins before assigning a premium for a turnaround thesis. The proposed tender offer should be treated according to its approval status, not as completed capital returned.
The practical conclusion is conditional: TCS appears strongest on the cited margin measure, Infosys offers the clearest combination of constant-currency growth, free cash flow and large-deal disclosure, and Wipro requires the most attention to recovery evidence. None of those observations answers whether the current price compensates you for growth, execution and technology risk. That answer requires a common-date valuation and an explicit scenario analysis.
