The Indian equity trades on the NSE as WIPRO and on the BSE as scrip code 507685, with prices in rupees. The US-listed American Depositary Share (ADS) trades on the NYSE as WIT, with prices in US dollars. This article explains which record to use, how to measure a return correctly, and which 2026 corporate events and reported results you need to read alongside any price chart. It does not publish a current quote or a numeric performance figure, because the exchange price series was not retrieved for this article. The exchange data is where those figures should come from, and the steps for pulling it are below.
Which Wipro listing does your question refer to?
Before comparing any two prices, confirm the instrument. The three Wipro quote lines below are not interchangeable, and mixing them is the most common source of error in share-price comparisons.

| Listing | Code | Instrument | Quote currency | Trading session |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| National Stock Exchange of India | NSE: WIPRO | Equity share | Indian rupee (₹) | Indian market hours |
| BSE Limited | BSE: 507685 | Equity share | Indian rupee (₹) | Indian market hours |
| New York Stock Exchange | NYSE: WIT | American Depositary Share (ADS) | US dollar ($) | US market hours |
The NSE and BSE lines are the same company equity priced in rupees, so their closes should be close to each other on any given day. The NYSE line is a dollar-denominated ADS. Its price cannot be compared with the rupee price without converting currency on matching dates, and its trading day does not overlap the Indian session in the same way. A ₹ figure and a $ figure should never be placed on one axis without that conversion.

This article does not reproduce a dated price series, so use the exchange sources directly. The NSE’s official Wipro quote page reports prices in rupees and links to historical price-volume data. The steps below are the most reliable route for an Indian-listed series.
#1 Best Overall
- Open the NSE website and search for the symbol WIPRO to reach the company’s quote page.
- Confirm the displayed currency is rupees and note the date and time of the quote you are looking at, since quotes change during the session.
- Follow the historical price-volume link from the quote page to download the daily series for your chosen window.
- For the BSE line, use scrip code 507685 on the BSE site and check that the price series matches the NSE series on the same dates within normal bid-ask variation.
- For the NYSE line, use a data source that provides WIT’s daily closes in US dollars, and record the exact dates and the timestamp of each close.
- Take quarterly results, annual reports, buyback and dividend notices from Wipro’s investor-relations pages, not from price sites. Company disclosures are the authoritative source for audited figures and corporate events.
How to measure a Wipro share return correctly
A return is only meaningful when four things are stated: the listing, the currency, the start and end dates, and whether dividends are included. Most mistakes come from omitting one of them.
Price return
Price return measures only the change in the quoted price between two dates:
Price return = (ending price − starting price) ÷ starting price

This is the figure a plain price chart shows. It ignores cash paid to shareholders during the period.
Total return
Total return adds dividends paid in the window, usually assuming they were reinvested on the ex-dividend date. A price-only series will understate the return for any period that contains a distribution. For Wipro, the interim dividend declared in July 2026 falls in the most recent window, so a total-return calculation for a period ending after that declaration must include it.
Adjusted and unadjusted prices
Some historical series are adjusted for corporate actions and others are not. Check which version you have before calculating anything. An unadjusted series shows the price as it traded on each date, while an adjusted series rescales earlier prices to remove the effect of distributions or share-count changes. Mixing the two produces false jumps.
Keeping periods and currencies consistent
- Use identical start and end dates for every listing you compare.
- Calculate rupee returns from rupee prices and dollar returns from dollar prices. Do not convert one to the other by eye.
- Separate short-term fluctuations from multi-year periods, and state the endpoints of each.
Corporate events that change how the record should be read
Proposed share buyback, April to June 2026
On April 16, 2026, Wipro’s board approved a proposal to buy back up to 600 million equity shares, which the filing states is 5.7% of total paid-up equity share capital. The proposed price was ₹250 per share, for an aggregate amount not exceeding ₹150 billion. The proposal was subject to shareholder approval. The NSE circular for the offer lists June 11 to 17, 2026 as the offer period and describes it as a fixed-price buyback.
The ₹250 figure is the buyback offer price. It is not a market closing price, and the buyback did not mean every shareholder could sell all of their shares at that price. A buyback is a tender offer, and a holder’s acceptance depends on the terms and the number of shares tendered. Any price chart that shows Wipro trading around the offer period should be read with this in mind, but the buyback price should not be treated as evidence of where the market priced the shares.
Interim dividend, July 2026
The July 2026 results release declared an interim dividend of ₹2 per equity share, which Wipro’s release also applies to the ADS. A price-only chart does not include this payment. If you are measuring what a holder received over a period that includes the record and payment dates, add the dividend to the price return.

Recent operating results: quarter ended June 30, 2026
Wipro’s first-quarter results for fiscal 2026-27 were released on July 16, 2026. The table shows the reported figures and their year-on-year change as stated by the company.
| Metric | Quarter ended June 30, 2026 | Change year on year |
|---|---|---|
| Gross revenue | ₹244.8 billion | +10.6% |
| IT services revenue | $2,614.5 million | +1.0% (reported); +0.9% in constant currency |
| IT services operating margin | 16.0% | −1.2 percentage points |
| Net income | ₹33.6 billion | +0.6% |
| Earnings per share | ₹3.20 | +0.6% |
Reported and constant-currency growth differ because exchange-rate movements affect the dollar value of revenue earned in other currencies. Use constant-currency figures when you want to strip out currency translation from the business trend.

These are dated operating results. They describe the quarter’s performance and do not measure a stock return, and the release does not link them to any specific share-price move.
Best Value
“Clients are moving beyond technology modernization to AI-enabled operating models that improve quality, resilience, and productivity. Wipro’s consulting-led, AI-powered approach helps clients embed AI at the core of their business, and these engagements reflect both the breadth of our capabilities and the trust clients place in us as a transformation partner.”
That is the view of Wipro CEO and Managing Director Srini Pallia, from the July 16, 2026 results release. It describes management’s perspective on client demand and is not a forecast of share-price performance.
Guidance for the September 2026 quarter
The July 2026 release gave IT services revenue guidance for the September 2026 quarter of $2,574 million to $2,627 million. This corresponds to sequential guidance of −1.5% to +0.5% in constant currency. This is a forecast issued in July, not an observed result. Wipro’s investor-relations filing index lists its second-quarter results announcement for October 15, 2026, so the guidance will be replaced by actual reported figures shortly.
Annual results for fiscal 2025-26
The audited annual report presents consolidated figures for the year ended March 31, 2026, compared with the prior year.
| Consolidated measure | FY2025-26 | FY2024-25 | Change (calculated from reported figures) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sales | ₹926,240 million | ₹890,884 million | +4.0% |
| Net profit | ₹132,655 million | ₹132,180 million | +0.4% |
These annual figures give useful operating context, but they do not establish why the share price moved over any period. Sales grew faster than net profit in the year, which is a business observation, not a price explanation. Explaining a price change requires event-level market evidence, such as the day’s price move against the timing of a specific announcement.
What the figures cannot tell you
- A quarterly or annual result is not a stock return, and a rising profit does not guarantee a rising price.
- The buyback price of ₹250 and the dividend of ₹2 are corporate terms, not measures of market value.
- Guidance is a forecast from July 2026 and will be superseded by the October 2026 results.
- Any latest price, high, low or period return must be taken from the exchange series on the date you need, with its timestamp recorded.
Use the NSE or BSE series for rupee share prices, the NYSE series for WIT in dollars, and Wipro’s investor-relations disclosures for every company event and audited figure.
