Several 2026 leak reports say a purported OnePlus Ace 7 could use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but OnePlus has not confirmed the phone or its specifications. Treat the chipset—and every other reported feature—as unverified until OnePlus announces the device.
What the Snapdragon leak says
A July 3, 2026 report by Gizmochina attributed the chipset claim to tipster Digital Chat Station. It said engineering prototypes were being tested with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (SM8850) and a custom variant (SM8850Q). A September 4 report from the same publication described an unnamed OnePlus flagship prototype that might be called Ace 7, again naming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. These are reports of leak claims, not confirmed specifications.

The reports do not establish which variant, if either, would reach a retail Ace 7, or whether both chipset identifiers refer to separate configurations. OnePlus has not confirmed the Ace 7 series in the reports reviewed.
Other rumored Ace 7 specifications
Leak coverage has mentioned several possible features, but the claims differ by report and should not be read as a finalized specification sheet.

| Feature | What reports claim | Status and source |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.78-inch flat OLED, 1.5K resolution and 185Hz refresh rate | Reported by Gizmochina on September 4, 2026; unconfirmed. Source. |
| Battery | About 9,000mAh | Reported in July and October 2026 leak coverage; unconfirmed. Gizmochina; Gadgets 360. |
| Charging | 100W or 120W in the July report; 100W or higher in October coverage | Estimates attributed to leaks, not official charging specifications. Gizmochina; Gadgets 360. |
| Cooling | Built-in active fan | Reported, not confirmed or independently tested. The performance effect is unknown. |
| Cameras | 200MP main and 16MP front cameras; a possible Ace 7 Pro with a 50MP Samsung JN5 3.5x periscope telephoto camera | Claims in Gadgets 360’s October 6, 2026 report; unconfirmed. Source. |
The September display report did not give battery or charging details. The later report added camera and battery claims, but that does not confirm that the figures belong to a final product or to every model in the series.
Are the fan and performance claims proven?
No. Leak coverage has described active cooling and, separately, an unspecified “sophisticated” performance technology. Neither establishes the final cooling design or a measured performance benefit. A fan could be intended to manage heat, but there are no verified Ace 7 test results showing improved sustained performance, temperatures or battery life.

Has OnePlus confirmed the Ace 7 or its India name?
No confirmation is reported in the sources available through October 11, 2026. Gadgets 360 said on October 6 that OnePlus had not confirmed the Ace 7 series or its availability in India. The suggestion that an India-bound version might be called OnePlus 16R is speculation, not an announced regional name.

Model naming is also unsettled. Some coverage discusses a possible Ace 7 Pro, while a separate report concerns a rumored Ace 7T with a different, rumored Snapdragon 8 Gen 6. Those claims should not be combined into one confirmed lineup or treated as specifications for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 model.

What to make of the reports
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is named in multiple Ace 7 leak reports, but OnePlus has not confirmed it.
- Other specifications: The 185Hz display, roughly 9,000mAh battery, charging figures, cameras and fan are also reported claims, not verified product details.
- Performance: No Ace 7 benchmark or test result establishes what the chip or cooling system would deliver in a shipping phone.
- Availability: Launch timing, price, final model names and regional availability have not been confirmed in the cited reports.
Qualcomm’s earlier Snapdragon 8 Elite platform figures should not be used as a proxy for Ace 7 results: they concern a different chip generation, and no Ace 7 testing is established.
