Rockstar Support’s current preorder information names two platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two Interactive’s fiscal 2026 lineup gives those same platforms a launch date of November 19, 2026.

The absence of PC from both official platform lists is more significant than a retailer listing or an unattributed leak. It means the only launch platforms currently committed by the publisher are Sony’s and Microsoft’s current-generation consoles.

That also answers “What consoles will GTA 6 be on?” for the announced launch: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no confirmed PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo, or cloud-only edition in the information published by Rockstar and Take-Two.
Has Rockstar announced a PC version?
No. Rockstar has not announced a PC port or supplied a PC release date. It also has not published PC hardware requirements, graphics settings, supported operating systems, PC storefront details, or a PC-specific preorder.
A PC version is a reasonable possibility based on Rockstar’s historical pattern of bringing major releases to computers after an initial console launch. That is an inference, not a promise. Is GTA 6 delayed on PC?
Not in the normal meaning of a delayed release. A delay applies to a date that was previously announced and then moved. What the November 2025 delay actually means
In November 2025, Rockstar announced that GTA 6 had moved to November 19, 2026. The company said the additional time would allow the team to finish the game to the level of polish players expect.

That statement supports a limited conclusion: the extra period is intended for further development and polishing. It does not guarantee that a PC port will exist, and it does not reveal when a PC edition might arrive.
Take-Two’s SEC filing continues to carry the November 19, 2026 date while warning that delivering the product on time is a material business risk. A filing risk warning is not a new delay announcement. It explains that schedules can change and that a late launch would matter to the company; it does not provide a separate PC timetable.
In practical terms, the delay gives the announced console versions more development time. PC players should not interpret it as evidence that a hidden PC build is being held until the same date or as proof that the console launch will automatically include PC.
Should you buy a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S for GTA 6?
The right choice depends on whether you want to play at the confirmed launch or are comfortable waiting for information that may arrive later. The following decision framework separates what is known from what is speculative.

When waiting is the better decision
Waiting is safer if you require keyboard-and-mouse play, PC graphics settings, mods, ultrawide-monitor support, or the ability to upgrade hardware over time. Those features may matter to you, but Rockstar has not confirmed that a PC edition will offer them for GTA 6.
Waiting also avoids buying a console for a game whose PC status remains unknown. The trade-off is that you could miss the confirmed console launch if a PC version is announced later than November 2026.
GTA 6 editions, prices, and physical copies
Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 preorder release lists two editions. The stated prices are for the announced console release and should not be treated as PC pricing.

The material provided with the physical product is unusual enough to check before buying. Rockstar Support says: “The physical version of GTAVI will contain a download code that can be used for the digital download of the game. A disc will not be included in the box.” The box is therefore a physical retail package containing a code, not a disc that installs the game offline.
That distinction affects several practical issues:
- You need an internet connection to redeem the code and download the game.
- Buying a box does not give you a game disc to lend, resell as a disc, or install independently of the code.
- The code’s platform must match the console for which it was sold.
- Check the retailer’s region and activation rules before purchase, especially when ordering across borders.
Preload and launch timing
Physical copies are expected from November 12, 2026 to support preload, and preload begins on November 12. The playable launch follows on November 19, 2026. Receiving a physical box during the earlier window does not mean the game becomes playable a week early; the platform’s release lock remains in place until launch.
Digital buyers should also plan for a substantial download and enough free console storage, although Rockstar and Take-Two have not published the final install size in the information available here. Keep the console connected, install system updates in advance, and start the preload as soon as it appears in the relevant store. Those steps reduce launch-day downloading, but they cannot compensate for an internet connection that is too slow or a drive that is nearly full.

Where the confirmed console editions are sold
Take-Two names the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store, and global retailers as sales channels. Store availability, tax, currency, stock, and preorder terms can vary by country and may change before launch.
When comparing a listing, verify four details before paying:
- Confirm that the platform label says PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
- Check whether the product is Standard or Ultimate and compare the listed price with the publisher’s announced $79.99 and $99.99 figures.
- For a box, confirm that it contains a download code and no disc, and read the activation-region conditions.
- Check the stated delivery or code-release timing so you know whether it supports the November 12 preload period.
How to tell a real PC announcement from speculation
A genuine PC announcement should come from Rockstar or Take-Two and should identify at least the platform, release timing, and a way to buy or wishlist the game. A complete announcement may also provide system requirements, supported storefronts, graphics features, and whether the PC release is simultaneous with consoles or later.
Be cautious with screenshots, retailer placeholders, anonymous claims, and videos that convert a rumored window into a firm date. A store page can appear before a publisher confirms its details, and an unverified listing cannot establish that a port exists.
The most reliable change to watch for is an update to Rockstar’s official platform or preorder information that explicitly adds PC. Until that happens, the status remains unchanged: console launch confirmed, PC version unannounced.
What PC players still do not know
Because no PC edition has been announced, these questions remain open:
- Whether a PC version will be released at all.
- Whether it would launch alongside the console versions or later.
- Which PC storefronts would sell it.
- What processor, graphics card, memory, storage, and operating-system requirements would apply.
- Whether the PC edition would include the same content and online features as the console versions.
- How much a PC edition would cost.
- Whether saves, online characters, or purchases could transfer between console and PC.
Do not use the announced console specifications or the $79.99 and $99.99 console prices as substitutes for missing PC information. They describe different products and do not predict the hardware or commercial terms of a future port.
What the current answer means for your purchase
If you want GTA 6 on its confirmed launch date, plan around PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S and the November 19, 2026 release. If you want to play only on PC, keep your money and hardware decision separate from rumors: Rockstar has not announced a PC version, date, price, or requirements. The delay adds development time for the announced console release, but it does not answer the PC question.
