Do not assume an LG pedestal will fit or be approved for a Samsung washer. The manufacturer guidance reviewed does not establish that cross-brand pairing. Check the exact washer and pedestal model numbers with the manufacturers before buying or installing one.
Why a matching width is not enough
“Pedestal” can mean a storage drawer or a functional mini washer, and the fit depends on more than nominal width. Check the exact washer model, pedestal model and revision, appliance dimensions, mounting feet or clips, brackets, and supplied hardware. A matching width or color does not confirm compatibility.

LG documents different attachment methods across pedestal generations, including bracket-type and T-clip installations. Its instructions also call for the appliances to be leveled and secured. These differences are why a pedestal that appears to fit beneath a washer may not mount correctly. LG front-load pedestal installation guidance

SideKick pedestal washers
LG explicitly requires its SideKick pedestal washer to sit beneath a matching front-loading LG washer manufactured after 2009. LG specifies a 27-inch SideKick for a 27-inch LG front-loader and a 29-inch SideKick for a 29-inch model; it also says SideKick will not operate as a standalone unit. Those requirements apply to SideKick, not automatically to every LG storage pedestal. LG SideKick placement guidance

Storage pedestals
LG lists storage accessories including models WDP6A and WDP8B in its pedestal catalog. Their appearance in LG’s catalog establishes that they are LG laundry accessories, not that they are compatible with a Samsung washer. LG laundry pedestal catalog
How to find a pedestal for your Samsung washer
- Record the washer’s full model number. Check the washer’s model label rather than relying on its brand, appearance, or stated width.
- Identify the pedestal precisely. Find its model number and revision on the label or drawer sticker. Confirm whether it is a storage riser or a functional pedestal washer.
- Use Samsung’s compatibility guidance. Samsung advises owners to find the pedestal or riser for their exact washer model and points them to Samsung Parts to search for compatible products. Samsung installation help
- Confirm the exact pairing if it is not listed. Ask Samsung and LG—or the installer who will do the work—whether that washer and pedestal combination is approved. Do not treat similar dimensions as confirmation.
For example, Samsung lists its 27-inch WE402NW/A3 pedestal for selected front-load series 8300, 6300, and 6000. That is a model-specific example, not evidence that the pedestal fits every Samsung washer. Check the current listing against your washer’s exact model. Samsung WE402NW/A3 product listing

What to know about installation approval
Samsung’s US delivery instructions say its installation team will not install a washer on an old or generic non-Samsung pedestal. This describes the service team’s installation policy; it is not a published test of every possible physical LG-pedestal/Samsung-washer combination. Confirm the installer’s policy before scheduling installation. Samsung US delivery instructions

What is established—and what still needs checking
- LG’s SideKick instructions require a matching LG front-loader and specify corresponding 27-inch and 29-inch sizes.
- Samsung directs owners to verify a pedestal against the exact Samsung washer model.
- The manufacturer material reviewed does not document an LG-pedestal/Samsung-washer pairing.
- Because the exact washer and pedestal models are unspecified, compatibility for a particular pair cannot be determined from brand names or width alone.
