Why is my F1 stream blocked in my country?
Formula 1’s viewing rights are sold by territory. As a result, F1 TV may offer different content and features in different countries, and it does not provide live coverage everywhere. A valid subscription does not necessarily include the live feed where you are trying to watch: local rights may limit what F1 TV can show.

F1 TV’s subscription terms, last updated August 2025, say the service verifies the country where a subscriber is habitually resident at sign-up. The terms call this the “Home Territory.” Digital content can also be unavailable for legal or contractual reasons. Read the F1 TV Subscription Terms and check F1’s country-level broadcast directory for the services currently listed where you are.
What to check before troubleshooting your device
- Find the local rights-holder. Select your country in Formula 1’s official broadcast directory. It identifies services carrying F1 in each territory; F1 TV live coverage and features are available in many, not all, territories.
- Check what your plan includes. Confirm that your subscription tier includes live F1 in the account’s Home Territory. A subscription may be active while the live event remains unavailable because of local rights.
- If travelling, check portability rules. F1’s terms describe access to Home Territory content across EU member states and other territories covered by the EU Portability Regulation 2017/1128, subject to restrictions in the country visited. Outside those portability territories, access is subject to rights restrictions where you are watching. This is not worldwide access.
- Only then check playback requirements. If your location and plan should allow the event, review F1’s supported-device information and check your app or browser version, internet connection and bandwidth. F1 says location, device support and connection speed can affect access or streaming quality.
Why you may be unable to watch F1 live while travelling
Travel access is not determined solely by whether you paid for a subscription at home. The terms tie the account to its verified Home Territory and distinguish travel within the EU portability framework from access elsewhere. Restrictions in the destination country can still apply. Check the current terms and the local broadcast directory for the country you are visiting before race weekend.

Where to watch F1 live if F1 TV is unavailable
Use the local service listed in Formula 1’s broadcast directory and confirm its current coverage and subscription conditions directly with that broadcaster. Rights vary by country and can change.
For example, Formula 1 announced on 8 September 2026 that DAZN will continue broadcasting F1 in Spain, Andorra and Portugal through 2030, including live and on-demand coverage of practice, qualifying, Sprint and Grand Prix sessions. This applies to those named territories, not to other countries. See Formula 1’s announcement.

Can a VPN or location setting fix the block?
Do not use location masking to get around a territorial restriction. Clause 9.2(g) of Formula One Digital Media Limited’s F1 TV Subscription Terms, last updated August 2025, prohibits using technology or tools to alter, mask or disguise the access location to circumvent restrictions. Use the service authorized for your location instead.

F1’s watch page lists web, iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, Roku and Chromecast as viewing options. It also says F1 TV Premium features are not yet available on Amazon Fire TV. A compatible device can help with big-screen playback, but it does not change territorial rights or subscription eligibility. Check the current supported-device list and plan features before choosing hardware.
