Why isn’t Watch Dogs in a Ubisoft Creative House?
At Ubisoft’s annual meeting, an investor reportedly asked why Watch Dogs was absent from the Creative Houses. Insider Gaming reported Guillemot’s response in English as a translation: “It’s not expected to [be] put in a creative house for the moment before it’s potentially remade.” The report also quoted him saying: “It’s still a brand that we consider to be an important brand for the future.” Insider Gaming’s account of the remarks is secondary reporting; the English wording should not be treated as a verified transcript.

What are Ubisoft’s Creative Houses?

Not being listed under a House therefore indicates an organizational distinction, not necessarily that the franchise has been abandoned. In Watch Dogs’ case, however, the specific explanation about its engine and priority comes from reports of the meeting rather than an official Ubisoft transcript.

Ubisoft Paris says it has worked on Watch Dogs, but that documents historical studio involvement rather than current responsibility for the franchise. The studio’s Ubisoft profile does not confirm a present-day assignment.
