Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf your PlayStation account seems locked, the message you see matters: a forgotten password or passkey, a missing two-step verification code, a formal suspension, and a connection problem all need different fixes. Check the exact error, then check the account’s sign-in email and spam folder. PlayStation says a suspension produces an error code and usually an email explaining its reason and duration.
First, identify what “locked” means in your case
“Locked” is not a single PlayStation error or a diagnosis. Use the sign-in screen and any email notification to distinguish an account suspension from a sign-in or network problem. PlayStation’s US support guidance says suspended users see an error code when attempting to sign in and are usually emailed the reason and duration. You can also check My Support for suspension information.

- Password or passkey prompt: You may need to recover the account or reset your password.
- Two-step verification challenge: The issue may be the code, registered phone, or access to backup codes.
- Suspension error: Check the error code, account email, and My Support.
- Account details changed unexpectedly: Treat this as possible unauthorized access and contact PlayStation.
- No suspension message and credentials seem right: Check the sign-in email and your console or network connection.
Know which kind of suspension PlayStation applied
PlayStation distinguishes account, communication, and console suspensions. An account suspension prevents sign-in and access to account features. A communication suspension restricts social features. A console suspension limits that console’s access to PlayStation services. Suspensions may be temporary or permanent; check the notice or My Support for the applicable type and duration.

Recover access when you can use the account email
If you still have access to the sign-in email, use PlayStation’s account recovery rather than repeatedly guessing credentials. From the sign-in screen, choose Trouble Signing In? and follow the prompts to recover the account or reset the password. You can also use Account Management online.
- Open PlayStation’s password reset guidance and start the recovery flow through Account Management.
- Follow the secure link sent to the account’s sign-in email. The reset email may take a few minutes to arrive; check spam or junk if it is not in your inbox.
- Complete the steps in the email and try signing in again.
If you use a passkey and cannot sign in with it, follow PlayStation’s sign-in troubleshooting guidance to recover access.

When the two-step verification code does not arrive
PlayStation’s two-step verification guidance recommends trying the code again and checking the phone’s connection. If you saved one of the ten single-use backup codes provided for account recovery, use an unused code to sign in.
- Choose the option to resend the verification code.
- Restart your phone, make sure airplane mode is off, and check that you have mobile signal.
- If the registered phone is unavailable, try an unused backup code.
If you cannot access the registered phone and do not have a backup code, contact PlayStation through its two-step verification support route and Online Assistant.

If you lost the account email or details changed without permission
Use PlayStation’s Online Assistant if you can no longer access the sign-in email or verification information, have forgotten the sign-in ID, or see an online ID, sign-in ID, or password change you did not make. Those situations require account-specific help rather than a routine password reset. Start from PlayStation’s sign-in and account recovery guidance.
What WS-37368-7 or WS-116367-4 means
PlayStation associates error codes WS-37368-7 and WS-116367-4 with an account-debt suspension after a financial institution reverses a charge on one or more purchases. Follow the account debt suspension guide to review the repayment process for restoring access. If you do not recognize or authorize the charge, use PlayStation’s unauthorized transaction guidance instead.

If there is no suspension indication
When the error does not indicate a suspension and your credentials appear correct, try PlayStation’s basic sign-in and connection checks:

Is there a standard lockout time after failed password attempts?
PlayStation’s reviewed support guidance does not state a universal failed-password threshold or a general lockout duration. Do not assume that waiting a set number of minutes will unlock the account. Follow the recovery steps for the error displayed, or contact PlayStation Support if those steps do not apply.
