Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Start by checking whether your stream appears in Dacast Preview. If it does not, troubleshoot the encoder-to-Dacast connection. If it does, check that YouTube is saved as a Dacast Simulcast destination with the correct YouTube stream key, then look in YouTube Live Control Room for an incoming preview or a required Go live action. The symptom alone does not identify one certain cause.
Find where the stream stops
Dacast-to-YouTube Simulcast has two connections: your encoder sends the feed to Dacast, and Dacast forwards it to YouTube. Check them in that order so you do not change the wrong server URL or key.
- Open Dacast Preview or the stream’s share link. If no feed appears, focus first on the encoder’s Dacast publishing/server URL and Dacast stream key. Dacast’s setup guidance recommends using Preview or the share link to test the feed.
- If Dacast Preview works, check the destination. Confirm YouTube is connected and saved in the channel’s Engagement/Simulcast settings, and that the destination uses the stream key for the intended YouTube stream.
- Check YouTube Live Control Room. Look for an incoming preview and read any status or error displayed. A scheduled stream can receive the feed yet still require you to select Go live.
A working Dacast Preview narrows the likely problem to destination setup or YouTube’s side; it does not prove which one is at fault. No Dacast Preview points first to the encoder-to-Dacast connection.
Check the encoder’s Dacast connection
For Simulcast, the encoder should send its feed to Dacast. Use the server URL and stream key currently displayed for your Dacast channel; do not substitute YouTube’s values in the encoder when Dacast is the forwarding service.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Compare the encoder’s publishing/server URL with the current Dacast channel configuration.
- Check that the Dacast stream key is entered exactly as displayed, without an old or unintended key.
- Confirm the encoder is actually transmitting, then reload Dacast Preview to see whether the feed arrives.
Recheck the ingest URL after enabling Simulcast
Dacast warns that setting up a multi-destination stream changes the encoder ingest URL. Its guide shows an example of a default ingest address changing to a Dacast live-ingest address, but that example is not universal. Copy the current URL shown for your channel rather than reusing an example from a guide or an earlier setup.
Confirm YouTube is configured as a Dacast destination
- In Dacast, open the channel’s Engagement or Simulcast settings; wording can vary with the current product interface.
- Connect YouTube as an external destination.
- In YouTube Live Control Room, get the stream key for the intended event or stream, then enter that key as the YouTube destination key in Dacast.
- Save the destination, start the normal encoder stream to Dacast, and check whether YouTube Live Control Room receives a preview.
Dacast’s Simulcast workflow forwards the feed to the external destination when the encoder stream starts. If the Dacast preview is live but YouTube receives nothing, verify that the destination was saved and that its key belongs to the correct YouTube stream.

Read YouTube’s status before changing settings
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| No feed in Dacast Preview | Check the encoder’s Dacast server URL and stream key, including whether Simulcast setup changed the ingest URL. |
| Dacast Preview works, but YouTube has no incoming preview | Confirm the YouTube destination is connected and saved in Dacast, and that it has the correct key for the intended stream. |
| YouTube shows an incoming preview, but the scheduled event is not public | Check whether Live Control Room is waiting for you to select Go live. |
| YouTube reports an invalid stream key | Verify that the key is current and for the intended stream. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance recommends getting a new key and updating the sender when a key is invalid; in a Dacast-forwarded setup, update the YouTube destination key in Dacast. |
| A connection timeout or SSL/RTMPS error appears | First identify which service is connecting to YouTube. YouTube’s RTMPS checks for server URL and RTMPS support apply to a direct encoder-to-YouTube connection; do not blindly replace Dacast’s encoder ingest settings with YouTube’s URL in a Simulcast setup. |
Dacast Simulcast or direct YouTube streaming?
These are different routes, and their settings are not interchangeable. Troubleshoot the route you actually configured.
| Workflow | Where the encoder sends | Where YouTube’s key goes | What confirms receipt |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dacast Simulcast | Dacast, using the current Dacast ingest URL and key | In the YouTube destination settings in Dacast | Dacast Preview confirms encoder-to-Dacast receipt; YouTube Live Control Room confirms the forwarded feed |
| Direct YouTube encoder stream | YouTube, using the server URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room | In the encoder | YouTube Live Control Room shows the incoming preview |
If you intended to use Dacast Simulcast, do not follow direct-stream instructions by pointing the encoder at YouTube. Conversely, if you are streaming directly to YouTube, Dacast Preview is not a checkpoint in that connection.

When the stream still will not appear
If Dacast Preview is live and the saved YouTube destination still receives no feed, collect the details before contacting support. This makes it easier to distinguish a routing problem from a YouTube event or key issue.
- The exact status or error text in YouTube Live Control Room.
- Whether the YouTube event is scheduled or already live.
- Whether Dacast Preview shows the feed at the same time.
- Whether the encoder is configured for Dacast Simulcast or direct YouTube streaming.
- Which current ingest URL and destination key are configured, without sharing a secret stream key publicly.
Contact Dacast support when the encoder feed reaches Dacast but its saved destination does not forward to YouTube; contact YouTube support for an event or account-side status you cannot resolve from Live Control Room. Dacast’s setup walkthrough also recommends testing the stream with Preview or a share link.
