A soccer league or fixture can be missing from Apple Sports for four different reasons: Apple has not integrated that competition, coverage is unavailable in your country or region, your iPhone or app is out of date, or the league and teams have not been added to your personalized views. Apple Sports is a selective, expanding scoreboard service—not a complete worldwide soccer database.
Work through the checks below before assuming the app is broken. If the competition is absent from Apple’s current published lineup after you update the app and confirm your region, the most likely explanation is a coverage limitation rather than a phone problem.

What a missing league usually means
Apple Sports combines competition data, regional rights and your account’s favorite-team settings. A problem in any one of those layers can make a league or a single match appear to be missing. The service’s App Store description says its soccer lineup continues to grow, which means the catalog is not intended to cover every professional competition in every market.
1. The competition is not integrated yet
Apple publishes a finite set of supported competitions. If a league does not appear when you search its official name, Apple may simply not have added it. A club can be well known and still have no Apple Sports scoreboard if its domestic competition is outside the current catalog.
#1 Best Overall
- Inspired by the world's largest soccer matchup, the adidas FIFA World Cup 26 soccer ball pairs design with performance. A seamless TSBE surface enhances touch. The butyl bladder ensures consistent shape retention for every match or practice session.
- TSBE TECHNOLOGY: Seamless surface for better touch and lower water uptake
- KEEPS ITS SHAPE: Butyl bladder for best air retention
- REQUIRES INFLATION: Ships flat, pump not included
- FIFA QUALITY AND OFFICIALLY LICENSED: Officially licensed by FIFA, the ball passed FIFA tests on circumference, weight, rebound and water absorption
2. Your country or region is different from the coverage market
Apple repeatedly warns that availability, content and features vary by country, region and device. A league may therefore be visible to a user in one market but unavailable to someone using an App Store account or connection associated with another. Expansion announcements do not make every competition global; they identify the markets and competitions Apple has enabled.
3. The iPhone or app does not meet the current requirement
The current App Store listing requires an iPhone running iOS 18 or later, and the app requires an internet connection. Installing an older release, running an earlier iOS version or having a failed update can prevent current competition data from loading. Meeting the iOS requirement only makes the app eligible; it does not add leagues that Apple does not support.
4. The league is supported, but your setup is incomplete
Apple Sports lets you customize scoreboards by following teams, tournaments and leagues. A competition can be available in the app yet absent from your home scoreboard because it was never followed, the wrong team was selected, or favorites have not synchronized across Apple apps. Looking only at the default home screen can therefore give the impression that a league is missing.

Which soccer competitions Apple Sports lists
The current App Store listing names a broad but selective catalog. Examples include the Argentine Liga Profesional; Brazilian Série A; Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2; UEFA Champions League; Chilean Primera División; Colombian Primera A; Conference League; Copa del Rey; Coppa Italia; Coupe de France; DFB-Pokal; Ecuadorian Serie A; EFL Championship and EFL Cup; Europa League; FA Cup; LaLiga; Leagues Cup; Liga MX; Ligue 1 and Ligue 2; MLS; NWSL; Peruvian Primera División; Primeira Liga; Premier League; Segunda División; Serie A and Serie B; and women’s competitions.

- A recreational soccer ball with a resilient butyl bladder for casual games
- SOFT AND DURABLE: Machine-stitched construction ensures a soft touch and high durability
- KEEPS ITS SHAPE: Butyl bladder for best air retention
- REQUIRES INFLATION: Ships flat, pump not included
Apple has also documented later additions such as the Austrian Bundesliga, English Women’s Super League, Greek Super League, Indian Super League, Saudi Pro League, Spanish Liga F and Turkish Süper Lig. Because Apple updates the listing, this is an example-based scope rather than a permanent, exhaustive catalog. Check the live App Store description for the current list before concluding that a competition is unsupported.
| What you see | Most likely explanation | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The league never appears in search | It may not be in Apple’s current catalog or may be unavailable in your region. | Confirm the official competition name, check the current App Store lineup, then test your region and app version. |
| The league appears, but your scoreboard is empty | The competition or its teams are not followed, or favorites have not synchronized. | Follow the league and clubs, then enable Sync My Sports and reopen the app. |
| The league is visible, but one fixture is absent | The schedule may not yet be present in Apple’s feed, or the fixture may be outside the available coverage. | Use the league-specific view and upcoming schedule; Apple does not publish a user-facing fixture-level feed diagnostic. |
| The app is unavailable in the App Store | Apple Sports may not be offered in the current App Store country or region, or the iPhone is below the supported iOS version. | Check the account’s store region and update to iOS 18 or later where supported. |
Why location changes the answer
On May 19, 2026, Apple said Apple Sports was available in more than 170 countries and regions, including more than 90 newly added markets. The same announcement cautioned that availability and content can vary by country or region. The country count describes where the app can be downloaded; it does not promise that every soccer competition is carried in each of those markets.
Apple’s September 16, 2025 expansion added Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Spain. That update also named European competitions including 2. Bundesliga, Ligue 2, Segunda División, Serie B and Primeira Liga. Such announcements show how coverage is rolled out market by market. If a friend abroad can see a league that you cannot, the difference may be regional licensing or catalog configuration rather than an account error.

Check your iPhone and Apple Sports installation
- Update iOS. Open Settings > General > Software Update and install the latest version available for your iPhone. The current Apple Sports listing requires iOS 18 or later.
- Update Apple Sports. Open the App Store, select your account picture, review pending updates and install the Apple Sports update if one is listed. If the app is not listed in your store, verify that the App Store country or region is one where Apple Sports is offered.
- Confirm connectivity. Apple Sports requires internet access. Test another website or app, switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data if appropriate, and temporarily disable a connection that blocks Apple services.
- Reopen the app. Force-close Apple Sports, launch it again and allow the scoreboard to refresh. A stale session can hide newly available competitions until the app reconnects.
Search for the league and add the right favorites
- Use the soccer or league view. Do not rely only on the general home scoreboard. Open the soccer section and use search with the competition’s official name, including accents or the formal division name when Apple uses one.
- Follow the competition. Select the league or tournament and choose the follow control. This adds its schedule and results to your personalized views when the competition is supported in your market.
- Follow the specific team. Add both clubs involved in the match if you want their fixtures surfaced even when the league view is crowded. Check that you selected the correct senior, reserve or women’s team where similarly named entries exist.
- Open upcoming schedules. A match may not be on the current scoreboard if it has not started or if your scoreboard is filtered. The league page and team schedule are better places to verify future fixtures.
- Enable synchronization. If favorites are missing across Apple apps, open your account controls in Apple Sports and turn on Sync My Sports. Reopen the app after synchronization completes.
How to tell a catalog gap from a single-fixture problem
If an entire competition is absent from search, treat it as a catalog or regional question first. If the league page loads and most rounds are present but one match is missing, the issue is narrower. Check the team pages and upcoming schedule, confirm the fixture date and competition, and refresh after reconnecting to the internet.

Apple’s public support material does not provide a fixture-level feed diagnostic or a status page that explains why one match is delayed or omitted. That means you cannot prove from inside Apple Sports whether a particular feed update failed. If other matches in the same round are present and the fixture remains absent, use the competition’s official app or another established scores provider for that match while retaining Apple Sports for the competitions it does cover.
MLS has a separate viewing handoff
For MLS, Apple’s newsroom explains that users can tap through from Apple Sports to Apple TV to watch MLS Season Pass. This is a viewing path for eligible MLS content, not evidence that every MLS fixture—or every other soccer league—will appear in the Apple Sports scoreboard. A handoff to video and a live-score listing are related but separate features.
What to use when Apple Sports does not carry the competition
When a league is not listed after you have checked the current App Store catalog and your region, changing phones, reinstalling the app or repeatedly editing favorites will not add it. Use the competition’s official app or another scores service until Apple expands coverage.

| Decision factor | Questions to ask about an alternative |
|---|---|
| Exact coverage | Does it carry this league, division, women’s competition or cup—not merely the country’s top flight? |
| Regional availability | Is the service accessible in your country, and does its catalog change when you travel? |
| Speed and detail | How quickly are goals, cards and substitutions posted, and does it provide lineups, play-by-play and standings? |
| Alerts | Can you follow a club or competition and receive kickoff, score and final-whistle notifications? |
| Video rights | Does it provide only scores, or does it offer legal live video in your market? |
A practical diagnosis checklist
- Is the iPhone on iOS 18 or later?
- Is Apple Sports updated and connected to the internet?
- Is the app available in the current App Store country or region?
- Did you search the official league name in the soccer view?
- Did you follow the league and the relevant team?
- Did you check the team or league’s upcoming schedule rather than only the home scoreboard?
- Is Sync My Sports enabled when favorites are missing across Apple apps?
- Does the competition appear in Apple’s current published lineup?
If the first seven checks pass and the competition is not in Apple’s published lineup, the evidence points to an unsupported or region-limited competition. Apple’s catalog is expanding, but there is no setting that can force an unintegrated league or fixture into Apple Sports.
