The defensible point is more limited: if RN gains influence in France or Le Pen becomes a more prominent presidential contender, British politicians may have to respond to the consequences for European debate and political relationships. Whether that becomes a particular problem for Burnham depends on future events and choices; it is not an established outcome of the Senate result.
