The most likely explanation is that YouTube did not create an archive: its guidance says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 broadcast runs far beyond that limit. But duration alone does not establish what happened to your replay; copyright enforcement, another policy restriction, a changed privacy setting, or deletion may also explain it. Check the stream’s status in YouTube Studio and the email YouTube sent to identify the cause.
Why a 24/7 livestream may have no replay
YouTube’s archive guidance says it can automatically archive a live stream that is less than 12 hours long. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. That is a possibility, not a guarantee that every broadcast crossing 12 hours will fail to archive.
This makes duration the first thing to consider for a continuous 24/7 lofi radio stream. If YouTube never created an archive, there is no replay to restore from the channel’s Live tab. YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup. Its terms also describe archiving as something a creator may be provided, rather than a guaranteed outcome for every broadcast; viewers may see a replay or highlights after a stream ends.
How to find the reason in YouTube Studio
- Check the stream listing. In YouTube Studio, open Content and select the Live tab. Find the broadcast and inspect its visibility, status, and any restriction details. An archive’s privacy can be changed there, and an archive can also be deleted there.
- Open the Restrictions details. Look for the specific material, claimant, affected timestamps, and territories if a copyright issue is shown. YouTube distinguishes Content ID outcomes—such as “Includes copyrighted content,” muted audio, or regional or worldwide blocking—from a formal takedown.
- Check the Dashboard and your email. Look for active copyright strikes in the channel dashboard and read the notification from YouTube. A valid copyright removal request removes the content and applies a strike; the email explains the claimed material and available options.
- Look for other live or policy restrictions. Community Guidelines action, age or content restrictions, or a match to another copyrighted live broadcast can affect live access or the stream. A copyright claim, copyright strike, and general policy restriction are different outcomes; use the notice and Studio status rather than guessing from the stream’s length.
YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance explains how to inspect restrictions and Content ID details. The status shown for your channel and the message YouTube sent are the evidence needed to distinguish a missing archive from a restricted, private, or removed replay.

Could copyright have removed or interrupted the replay?
Yes. YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content, including other copyrighted live broadcasts. If it identifies a match, it may show a placeholder warning; if the content remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. An archived livestream may also receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast ends.
Do not assume a lofi track is cleared for livestreaming just because it was available to stream or you bought a license. YouTube says creators need the necessary rights, including music licensing rights. A licensed third-party track may still interrupt a livestream unless the rights owner adds your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Check that your license covers the specific livestream use and relevant territories, then ask the rights owner about allowlisting if needed.

Content ID claim versus copyright takedown
A Content ID claim is not the same as a copyright removal request. A valid removal request is a legal request that removes the video and applies a copyright strike. YouTube describes possible strike-resolution routes as a retraction, completing Copyright School and waiting for expiry where applicable, or submitting a counter notification if you believe the removal was mistaken or a copyright exception applies. A counter notification is a legal process, not a routine way to clear an ordinary Content ID claim. Use it only if you have a good-faith basis and understand the process.

What to do next
- If no archive appears and no restriction is shown: the stream may not have been captured because it exceeded YouTube’s 12-hour guidance. YouTube’s help page does not promise that every shorter stream will archive, either.
- If Studio shows a Content ID issue: inspect the track, claimant, timestamps, and territories. Verify the license covers the use and locations involved; if it is licensed, ask the rights owner whether your channel can be allowlisted for livestream use.
- If YouTube says the video was removed or a strike was applied: read the notification and follow the options that fit your circumstances. Do not treat a counter notification as an ordinary claim-dispute shortcut.
- If visibility is private or the archive was deleted: use the Live tab’s controls to confirm what can still be changed. A local copy is useful only if you recorded one; it cannot recover an archive YouTube never created.
How to keep a copy of future broadcasts
Record locally and segment long streams
Keep a local recording if retaining a replay matters; YouTube explicitly recommends one as a backup. Consider ending and restarting a continuous broadcast before it reaches 12 hours if you want separate archives. That is a practical response to YouTube’s duration caveat, not a guarantee that each shorter segment will archive successfully.
Check music rights before going live
For every track, confirm that your rights cover YouTube livestreaming and the territories where you expect the stream to be available. If the track is licensed but YouTube still matches it during a live broadcast, ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting for your channel. A license and allowlisting address different parts of the problem.

Does a Content ID claim automatically mean YouTube removed my replay?
No. A Content ID claim is distinct from a formal copyright removal request, which removes the video and applies a strike. Check the replay’s Restrictions details and YouTube’s email for the actual action.
