If your membership changed while you were watching, the timing alone does not show that the stream caused it. The change may have come from your own billing cancellation, a channel-side pause or termination, or the creator removing your membership level. Check the membership’s status and end date, then look for a YouTube or billing notice to identify what happened.
What can cancel or end a channel membership?

YouTube says viewers can cancel at any time and ordinarily retain creator perks through the end of the billing cycle. So cancellation and the loss of a badge or other perks may happen on different dates. A channel pause is different: YouTube says memberships can automatically end if the pause remains in place when a billing cycle ends. A pause may be related to a channel changing MCNs, being set as Made for Kids, or being unable to monetize. If a channel terminates or loses its memberships feature, YouTube says affected viewers lose perks immediately and receive an email about the termination and refund request.

If a creator removes a membership level, the effect is also immediate for members at that level, with a refund of the last month’s payment. That is not the same as a viewer choosing to cancel. - Check the membership status and end date. Open YouTube’s paid memberships area and review the affected channel’s membership. YouTube says a cancellation confirmation appears in the app or on desktop, and a confirmation email follows. The membership hub can show the last day of the billing period.
- Search your email and YouTube notices. Look for a cancellation confirmation or a notice explaining a channel-side termination. YouTube says it emails affected viewers when a channel terminates or loses access to memberships.
- If you subscribed through the iOS YouTube app, check Apple billing. For cancellation or refund questions tied to an iOS purchase, YouTube directs members to Apple. Its iPhone and iPad billing guidance covers channel-member payment information.
- If the channel may have paused memberships, ask the creator. Confirm whether memberships were paused and whether a billing-cycle date passed before they resumed.
- If the records do not explain the change, contact YouTube support. Include the account and transaction details and check YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance for canceling a paid membership.
Did the 24/7 livestream or a stream interruption cause it?
YouTube’s membership guidance describes viewer cancellations and channel-side changes, but does not identify continuous playback as a cause of membership cancellation. A 24/7 stream may offer membership perks such as members-only live streams or members-only live chat; that does not establish that the stream itself can cancel a membership. Likewise, a stream interruption occurring around the same time is not proof that it affected your billing or membership status. Use the account status, dates, and notices to diagnose the change rather than inferring a cause from timing.
