If a Fortnite skin is missing after purchase, first make sure you are signed in to the Epic account that received the purchase, then check the correct Locker category with filters cleared and look in Archived. For a recent console or Samsung-device purchase, Epic’s indexed guidance says it can take up to two hours to appear. A removal notice points to a different issue: a refund or payment reversal may have removed the item.
1. Confirm which Epic account made the purchase
If you use more than one Epic account, the skin may be on a different one. Epic says the purchase receipt is sent to the email associated with the Epic account used to buy the item. Compare the receipt’s destination email with the account currently signed in to Fortnite. If they do not match, sign in to the purchasing account and check its Locker. Epic’s missing-item guidance

2. Search the Locker, including Archived
- Open the Locker and select the category that fits the missing item, such as Outfits for a skin.
- Clear any active filters and apply the changes so the category is not narrowed.
- Check the Archived view. Archived items may not appear in the usual Locker view.
If the item is still absent after checking the account and Locker, contact Epic Player Support through the official Fortnite help center.

Epic’s indexed guidance for console and Samsung-device purchases says to verify the Epic account, check that the device’s date, time, and time zone are correct, and allow up to two hours for the purchase to appear. If it still does not show, Epic’s guidance suggests reinstalling Fortnite from the account that made the purchase. If the item remains missing, contact the console platform’s support team. - Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
4. Check whether Fortnite said the item was removed
A message in Fortnite saying an item or V-Bucks were removed is different from a purchase that simply has not appeared yet. Epic lists a refund or payment reversal, a gift sender’s reversal, and a specified Xbox exploit among possible causes. Epic says Player Support cannot restore items removed this way. If you think the removal was an error, ask the provider that processed the payment for details; for purchases through Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Apple, or Google, use that provider’s support channel. Epic’s item-removal guidance
5. Check account linking when switching devices
Purchased content and progress can be available across linked Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Switch, and mobile accounts when they are connected to the same Epic account. V-Bucks are an exception to that cross-platform availability. If the platform account you use is linked to a different Epic account than the one on the receipt, check the account-link setup before treating the purchase as lost. Can you move a skin to another Epic account?
No. Epic says cosmetics stay on the account where they were purchased, earned, or claimed, and neither Epic Support nor a player can manually transfer them between Epic accounts. If the wrong platform account is linked, fixing the link may address the access problem, but it does not transfer the cosmetic between Epic accounts. For a recent eligible purchase, returning it and buying it again on the intended account may be an option. Epic’s account-transfer guidance

Cancel Purchase and Return Tickets apply to eligible mistaken V-Bucks Item Shop purchases; they are not a way to recover a skin that is merely hard to find. Epic says Cancel Purchase is available within 24 hours only if the item has not been used or equipped. An eligible item bought within the last 30 days may be returned with a Return Ticket, which removes it and returns V-Bucks. Epic’s policy says accounts start with three tickets, receive one every 365 days, and can hold at most three. It also excludes categories including passes, gifted purchases, and developer-island purchases. Once no tickets remain and the 24-hour cancellation period has passed, Epic Support cannot grant extra tickets. Check the current eligibility rules before acting. Epic’s Fortnite refund guidance

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
If the purchase was made through a console or mobile store outside Epic, that store handles the refund; Epic says it cannot process those refunds itself. Contact the store that charged you. Epic’s console and mobile refund guidance
