A missing Fortnite reward is usually not deleted. The most common causes are being signed into a different Epic Games account, a Locker filter or Archive setting hiding the item, an unclaimed reward on the service that issued it, an eligibility requirement that has not been met, or a delivery delay that is still within Epic’s stated window.
Start with the account and Locker checks below before reinstalling Fortnite or buying anything again. Then use the section for the way you earned the reward: purchase, Twitch Drop, 2FA, Live Event, or Battle Pass.

Run these checks first
- Confirm the Epic account. Sign in to the Epic account you used when you earned or bought the reward. For a purchase, compare the email on the receipt with the email for the account currently signed in. On a console, verify that the console profile is linked to that same Epic account.
- Search the correct Locker category. Open Fortnite’s Locker, choose the expected item type—such as Outfit, Back Bling, Pickaxe, Emote, Wrap, or another category—and remove every Sort and Filter setting.
- Check Archived items. An archived cosmetic is hidden from the normal collection view. Open the Archived section in the relevant Locker category and inspect it before assuming the item is missing.
- Check the original claim page. Twitch Drops must be claimed on Twitch, Battle Pass rewards must be claimed on the Battle Pass page, and some event or account rewards arrive without an in-game notification.
- Allow the documented delivery time. Twitch cases can take up to 14 days in specific circumstances, while Live Event attendance rewards can take up to 72 hours after the event ends.
Do not treat a restart as proof that an entitlement should exist. Restarting can refresh the client, but it cannot make an account eligible for a reward that was never claimed, was earned on another account, or is still inside its delivery window.

This is why a newly created Epic account, an accidentally unlinked console profile, or a second Epic login can make an established Locker look empty. The game may launch normally, but it will show the inventory belonging to the account that is currently authenticated.
Match a purchase to the right account
Find the purchase receipt in the email inbox used at checkout. Compare that address with the account email shown after signing in to Epic. If the addresses differ, sign out and use the Epic account identified by the receipt. A console account can be linked to an Epic account, but the console login itself is not the place where Fortnite’s saved entitlement is stored.
Check console linking
If you play on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or another supported platform, open your Epic account’s connected-account settings and confirm that the console profile you are using is attached to the intended Epic account. Do not unlink accounts casually: changing links without knowing which Epic account owns the progress can make the diagnosis harder. If you see a Level 1 profile or a missing history, stop and identify the original Epic login before changing connections.

Search the Locker without hiding the item
Epic says cosmetics and items on the account are visible in the in-game Locker. The practical issue is that the Locker can be narrowed by category, sort order, filters, or Archive status.
- Open Locker from Fortnite’s main navigation.
- Select the item type that matches the reward. An outfit will not appear while you are browsing Pickaxes, and a back bling will not appear in the Outfit list.
- Open the Sort and Filter controls.
- Clear every rarity, season, set, ownership, and other filter that is active, then apply the unfiltered view.
- Use the category’s Archived-items view and look through it separately.
- Close and reopen the Locker after changing the view so the client reloads the collection.
Search by the item’s actual type rather than by the name shown in a promotional message. Some promotions describe a bundle or set, while only one component is delivered as an individual Locker item.

Match the fix to the reward source

If it was a Twitch Drop
Twitch Drops have two separate ownership steps: Twitch must register the claim, and the Twitch account must be connected to the Epic account that you use in Fortnite. Completing only one of those steps leaves the reward unavailable.
Claim and verify the Drop
- Open the Twitch Drops inventory and confirm that the Drop is marked as claimed. Watching the stream alone is not the same as claiming the reward.
- Sign in to Epic using the account that owns your Fortnite progress.
- Check the connected accounts area and confirm that the correct Twitch account is linked.
- If the wrong Twitch account is connected, correct the connection and follow the relinking prompts. Avoid switching accounts repeatedly without recording which Epic account owns your Locker.
- Return to Fortnite and inspect the relevant Locker category, even if Fortnite did not display a notification.
Epic notes that Drops normally appear after claiming, but specific cases can take up to 14 days. That is a delivery window, not a guarantee that an unclaimed Drop or an incorrectly linked account will be corrected automatically.
Cabined Account limitation
A Cabined Account cannot earn Twitch Drop rewards until a parent or guardian completes the required account setup. If the account is cabined, fix that eligibility issue first; relinking Twitch will not bypass it.
If it was a 2FA reward
Two-factor-authentication rewards are tied to the Epic account on which 2FA was enabled. Enabling 2FA on one Epic account while playing on another does not transfer the reward.
- Sign in to the Epic account you actually use for Fortnite and confirm that 2FA is enabled there.
- Verify that the console account used to launch Fortnite is linked to that Epic account.
- Restart Fortnite completely, then open the Locker and search without filters or Archive hiding the item.
- If the account is cabined, check whether parent or guardian account setup is still required.
Epic says a 2FA reward may not appear immediately. The restart is a refresh step; it is not a substitute for enabling 2FA on the correct account or fixing account linkage.

If it was a Live Event reward
Event rewards can arrive silently. Check the Locker even if there was no banner, inbox message, or other notification.
Wait the full event window
Epic’s Live Event guidance allows up to 72 hours after the event ends for an attendance reward to appear. Count from the event’s end, not from the time you first logged in. During that period, confirm the account and Locker category, but avoid repeatedly changing account links.
What to send after 72 hours
If the reward is still absent after the 72-hour window, contact Epic Support and include:
- Your Epic display name.
- The event name and date.
- The reward’s name and item type, if known.
- The platform used to attend.
- A short description of the account and Locker checks you completed.
These details let support distinguish an attendance issue from an account or inventory-display issue.
If it was a Battle Pass Bonus Reward
Bonus Rewards are gated by the Battle Pass page, not just by the level number shown in a match. Before troubleshooting the Locker, verify all of the following:
- The Battle Pass is active on the Epic account you are using.
- You reached the level required for that particular Bonus Reward.
- Any preceding rewards required by the page have been claimed.
- You have completed any additional level-ups required for the reward; some Bonus Rewards need more than one level increase.
Claim in the correct order
- Open the Battle Pass page.
- Locate the Bonus Rewards section and inspect the reward’s requirement.
- Claim earlier available rewards first if the page requires a sequence.
- Claim the target reward when it becomes available.
- Restart Fortnite and search the matching Locker category with filters cleared.
A level-up by itself does not always deliver a Bonus Reward. The pass, level, claim sequence, and account must all match.

When a premium Battle Pass claim shows an error
Epic has separate guidance for an error that appears while claiming premium Battle Pass rewards. Use this order:
- Confirm that you are signed into the account that owns the Battle Pass.
- Sign out of Epic or Fortnite and sign back in.
- Restart Fortnite.
- Wait briefly and try the claim again rather than repeatedly pressing the claim control.
- Check Epic Games Status for an outage affecting Fortnite, accounts, or entitlements.
- If possible, try the claim from another supported device.
If the error persists while the pass, level, and preceding claims are correct, record the exact message and contact Epic Support. Do not purchase the pass a second time to test whether the first transaction worked.
What an Epic removal message means
If Epic displayed a notice saying an item was removed, follow the removal-specific instructions in that notice instead of treating the situation as an ordinary Locker-search problem. A removed item and a hidden item have different causes. Clearing filters will not restore an entitlement that Epic has explicitly withdrawn.
When to contact Epic Support
Escalate after you have identified the reward source, checked the correct Epic account, searched the unfiltered and Archived Locker views, completed any required claim, and waited through the applicable delivery window.
Give support a concise, source-specific report:
- Purchase: the receipt email, purchase date, item name, and Epic display name. Do not send your password or full payment details unless an official support form specifically requests limited transaction information.
- Twitch Drop: the Drop name, claim status, Twitch account used, Epic display name, and confirmation that the accounts are linked.
- 2FA: the Epic account on which 2FA was enabled, the platform, and the approximate time you enabled it.
- Live Event: event name, event date, display name, platform, and confirmation that 72 hours have passed.
- Battle Pass: pass status, current level, reward name, preceding claims, and any error text.
Use Epic’s official support route. Never give account credentials to an unofficial “recovery” service or anyone who promises to add the item manually.
Common dead ends and safer alternatives
Reinstalling before checking the account
Reinstalling Fortnite does not move an entitlement between Epic accounts. Identify the owner account and inspect the Locker first.
Buying the item again
A second purchase can create a duplicate charge without solving an account mismatch or a delayed delivery. Verify the original receipt and account before spending again.

Live Event rewards and some other entitlements can appear without a notification. Check the Locker directly.
Changing links at random
Unlinking and relinking console or Twitch accounts without knowing the owning Epic account can obscure the original progress. Record the account email and current connections before making a change.
Using unofficial recovery tools
There is no legitimate utility that can recreate an Epic entitlement locally. Keep credentials private and use Epic Support for an account-level investigation.
A compact decision path
- Different account or console link? Correct the sign-in or linkage and return to the Locker.
- Item hidden? Select the right category, clear filters, and inspect Archived items.
- Not claimed? Claim the Twitch Drop or Battle Pass reward on its original page.
- Eligibility incomplete? Meet the 2FA, cabined-account, Battle Pass level, or preceding-reward requirement.
- Still inside a delivery window? Wait up to 14 days for the specific Twitch cases Epic identifies, or up to 72 hours for a Live Event reward.
- Outside the window or showing a removal/error message? Contact Epic Support with the source-specific details listed above.
The useful distinction is not simply “the reward is missing.” It is whether the item belongs to another account, is hidden in the Locker, remains unclaimed, is blocked by eligibility, is delayed within Epic’s published window, or needs an account-level support investigation.
